Disaster Relief
During a crisis, the distribution of humanitarian aid and transportation of relief workers and emergency services through air travel and cargo capacity is essential. Understanding that air transportation is incredibly complex in the face of disaster, WestJet teams diligently work with GlobalMedic and The Canadian Red Cross to determine how we can facilitate the delivery of emergency supplies and relief workers to the communities that need it most.
GlobalMedic
GlobalMedic’s guiding principle is getting the Right Aid to the Right People at the Right Time. It propels their mission to deliver maximum aid impact with remarkable operational efficiency. They provide swift, pivotal intervention during critical moments of disaster and turmoil. Their portfolio includes six core Emergency Programs: Water, food, RescUAV, flood, medical, and shelter.
Canadian Red Cross
The Canadian Red Cross helps people and communities in Canada and around the world in their times of need. As part of the largest humanitarian network in the world, this network includes the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (Federation) and 192 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies dedicated to improving the situation of the most vulnerable throughout the world.
