Welcome aboard WestJet Encore. We've added Bombardier Q400 NextGen turboprop aircraft to our fleet to bring affordable air travel to more people in more communities. Our smaller aircraft have a little less room for carry-on baggage, but we plan to pack them full of the safe, fun and friendly experience you have come to know.
Please ensure that if your travel plans include a flight on a WestJet Encore turboprop aircraft that you review the following details as there are some differences in allowances and amenities from flights on our larger WestJet Boeing 737 aircraft. Flights on WestJet Encore are identified with flight numbers in the range of 3100 – 3899. If your travel includes a WestJet Encore flight and a WestJet or partner connection, please be aware that you should use the most restrictive baggage allowance to ensure your baggage will be accepted.
Service to Nanaimo, BC, and Fort St. John, BC as well as turboprop service to some of our existing routes starts June 24, 2013. We are also excited to announce service to Brandon, MB starting September 3, 2013.
Even though the turboprop is big on style, there is less space available for carry-on and checked baggage. As such, you may be asked to check carry-on items that do not fit in the carry-on sizing device before you board the aircraft. If your carry-on items contain essential items such as medication, laptops, keys or fragile objects, please ensure these valuables travel with you in the cabin as carry-on items that are checked prior to boarding will not be available until after the aircraft has arrived and taxied to the terminal.Guests travelling on WestJet Encore's turboprop aircraft are permitted one free checked piece of baggage (which includes sporting equipment) in addition to two extra checked bags, each of which will be charged a fee. Assistive devices are not included in this limit; please review the restrictions and limitations for assistive devices for information on how to reserve travel and help us ensure we can assist you in the best way possible.

Boarding the aircraft
WestJet Encore flights will be ground loaded. If you need a little extra help getting around, we'd be happy to help. Guests can reserve a wheelchair online or by calling 1-800-581-9499. If you have your own wheelchair, we can help with that as well. Just let us know the specific special assistance you require for your flight at the time of booking and we will prepare accordingly.
WestJet Encore's aircraft have seats for 78 guests, with two seats available on either side of the aisle. Seats have an average seat pitch (legroom) of 30 inches.
You may select your seat in advance for a fee, with the exception of rows one to four, at the time of booking or free of charge 24 hours to 60 minutes before scheduled departure using web, mobile, or kiosk check-in. Please see the seat selection page for more information.
As our turboprop aircraft are not equipped with an inflight entertainment system, we recommend bringing books, magazines, portable DVD players/tablets for yourself and some toys for your little WestJetters. Just remember your carry-on allowance is limited. You can also enjoy up! – our inflight magazine – available in the seatback pockets.
Our buy-on-board service will be offered on WestJet Encore however some menu items may not be available due to the short nature of these flights. A complimentary beverage service is offered which includes soft drinks, juice, coffee or tea as well as your choice of a sweet or salty snack on flights over 70 minutes.
