  6. Has WestJet stock ever split?

    WestJet stock has split three times. The first three-for-two split took place on May 10, 2000, as approved by shareholders on May 4, 2000. The second three-for-two split occurred on May 1, 2002, as approved by shareholders on April 25, 2002. The third three-for-two split occurred on May 5, 2004 as approved by shareholders on April 28,2004.

  7. Does WestJet pay dividends?

    WestJet announced the initiation of a quarterly dividend program in November 2010, with an initial dividend of $0.05 per common voting share and variable voting share paid on January 21, 2011. The dividend increased to $0.06 per common voting share and variable voting share, paid on March 30, 2012; to $0.08 per common voting share and variable voting share, paid on September 28, 2012; to $0.10 per common voting share and variable voting share, paid on March 28, 2013; and to $0.12 per common voting share and variable voting share, payable on March 31, 2014.

    The most recent dividend declared was $0.12 per common voting share and variable voting share, payable on December 31, 2014 to shareholders of record on December 17, 2014.

  8. Are the dividends paid by WestJet “eligible” dividends?

    Yes. All dividends paid by WestJet are, pursuant to subsection 89(14) of the Income Tax Act, designated as eligible dividends, unless indicated otherwise. An eligible dividend paid to a Canadian resident is entitled to the enhanced dividend tax credit.
