A popular shipwreck diving site located in Cancun, the C58 or General Anaya is home to the USS Harlequin, a World War II US navy vessel acquired by the Mexican Navy. It was deliberately sunk in the 1980s to create an artificial reef. Nowadays, the wreck is regularly visited by groupers, barracuda, manta rays and other vibrant marine life. Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Wilma in 2005, the vessel was split into two, making the rooms inside it even more accessible to divers. By boat, the diving site is only 25 minutes from Isla Mujeres. Read more and book your Cancun vacation.
