Amazing Staff!

We had a one night stay at SJC when we our flight was massively delayed. I really want to call out the Front desk agent Nekeisa for her amazing customer service. Due to the delay of our flight we needed to get some formula for our 9 month old infant and she made things happen!!! The staff in general were great at SJC and if my one night is anything to go-by, I’d highly recommend this to other families looking to visit Antigua.

Bad start - we arrived in pouring rain, airport had been closed, roads a bit chaotic. Not a good beginning, but that’s ok, we got all the bad out of the way before we really started our holiday. We’d read mixed reviews, our experience is that the bad ones were pretty much bunkum. Yes, it’s odd having room serviced every other day - but you can request daily. Personally, I managed the onerous task of making the bed 7 times while there. Vegetarian options were a bit limited, especially at Cocos restaurant, (no main course available) although I’m told this is under review, and will be changed. We spoke to Guiseppe (sorry, I know that is incorrect spelling) at the managers’ cocktail party. He introduced us to executive chef Andrew, and a magic wand seemed to have been waved. We dined next night at 11 11 and it was brilliant, chef Tamara (who is a fabulous lady) and her team really looked after us. We were so well fed, we just kept going back because they spoiled me beyond belief with local food, the sort she cooks her family, which is exactly what I wanted. Thank you Tamara & all your team, you were fabulous. The golf carts were busy at times - who’d have thought it, incoming guests needed to go to their rooms with their bags so there were inevitable delays at times. As we genuinely needed the carts for transportation for health reasons yes, we had on occasion to wait 1/4 hour: we were on holiday, not heading off to work, just grab a drink while you wait. The staff were 95% pleasant & helpful - nowhere is 100% so I don’t know why people moaned. Our only disappointment was that in the adults only Royal Suites area people from other parts of the hotel came & used “our” pools & sunbed. Bit irritating when we’d paid extra for them, but other than that, it was pretty good, and it was kept child free. Bonus for us! We don’t do daytime activities, so couldn’t comment on those. The nightly entertainment was sometimes really good, others not so much to our taste. But it was an eclectic mix of guests, so impossible to please all the people all the time. The 24 hour coffee shop was very popular, but of a queue at busy times, but there was a self serve machine if too busy to wait. Would I go back? Of course I would, worth the 9+ hours flight
Beautiful resort. We were surprised by the friendliness of the staff. Over and above.

Friendly staff, decent food options (maybe that’s a 4), two beaches which was useful. There was a little seaweed on a few days so we simply went to the bay side beach. Pickleball was a lot of fun. Can’t beat the ocean view rooms and they have alot of them. If staying there, must get ocean view!

Loved how quiet, and private the club was, plenty of beach chairs to choose from, good amount of variety of food, especially the buffet, the cleaness of the property and the beaches, didn't like that some pathways weren't lit very well in the evening, the floor in the rooms even after being mopped were completely dirty and you could see the black on your feet, service was slow at best, and alot of the crew seemed unhappy. But never the less was really nice place and definitely would like to take another vacation at the property.

Been to st James numerous of times this is the best of all. Starting with the positive first, like to say thank you an most appreciated to our lovely bartender Adio for his beautiful smile an tasty cocktails that just want you to stay even more. Also special thanks to the front desk agent to make our stay good Negative:Just hearing that Adio is no longer with you guys but from my perspectives he is one of the most fun an kind bartender the resort have!! Just to no i really think Adio should always be on the team he is full of energy, without him an his smile an fantastic cocktail don't think me an my husband would have enjoy our stay, Making sure that our next trip Adio is back on on the team cause he is beneficial!!.
