Worst experience ever!

I booked a vacation through JetBlue vacations for our anniversary. I booked a room with butler service and special amenities as it was our anniversary. I paid over $10k for this vacation. When we landed in Barbados, we knew something was wrong right away as we were to have limo service to the resort. We were instead placed on a bus. When we got to the resort to check in we were told that “we shout have booked through Sandals”. The resort refused our room. Instead we got a room that they deemed an upgrade. It was not! The first day we ran out of hand and bath towels. We called housekeeping at 7:30 in the evening but did not receive them until the following day. (6:00 pm). I have pictures to verify this information. Unfortunately my wife and I are basically stuck here until Tuesday. Let me say one positive…the wait staff are great. The upper management staff certainly was not. We travel quite a lot and have never been more angry at the way this was handled. We will never recommend anyone to use Sandals. You can get a much better experience for far less money. I imagine someone from sandals will write and apologize for our experience and say they want to do better. I will say that you already blew it when you didn’t accommodate us at the beginning. NEVER STAY AT sandals!
Beautiful resort with lots to do on site.

We had the SSUP room in building 10. The rooms are in need of some TLC. The dresser drawers were hard to pull open and the surfaces were stained. There was a musty odor in the room the whole week and upon return home all of our clothes and luggage smelled musty. There was a shortage of room towels the first 2 days but service was fine after that. Housekeeping was good. Serviced our room early in the day. Kareem was very good to stock our fridge daily meeting our needs for extra water. Nicole B in Conserege was amazing. Such a bright, refreshingly happy personality. She went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and was there for our departure on our last day. (If you read this, Thanks Nicole for taking care of Paul for us ??). It is a beautiful clean resort. The food was always good. The beach is very clean. Courtney the bus driver we had departing the resort was very good, informative about some island history. Wish the driver to take us to the resort upon arrival was as informative and bubbly.
One of my favorite Sandals Resorts

This is the ninth Sandals resort my wife and I have been to and is one of the better ones we have visited. The resort is beautifully landscaped as all Sandals are. We stayed in a Swim-Up room and enjoyed it very much. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The only thing we didn't like is that the refrigerator was not stocked as well as the other Sandals we have visited. We had to ask for mixers which were slow in coming and not restocked without asking. Our biggest knock on this resort was despite having access to several restaurants at Sandals Royal Barbados and Sandals Barbados which was right next door, the wait to be seated was longer than we were used to at other Sandals. The wait for our food was longer as well. The staff, however, were some of the friendliest. The pools were wonderful and the beach was also great. Like all Sandals, you have to get up very early to reserve pool or beach chairs. In spite of the few minor things I mentioned, this is a great resort.
Not what we expected

Lovely hotel, spacious clean room with a side sea view. Grounds lovely, plenty of pools and areas to sunbathe. It’s right on beach. What lets it down is service. Booking into the hotel is a bit of a shambles as you have to wait for the concierge to take details. Reception was rarely staffed. We only went for 3 nights before a cruise. Staff could hardly be bothered. Booking a restaurant is a nightmare. We went to the Italian one night and had to wait 2 hours for a table. The staff need training on customer care.
Just not good enough for 5 star

I have been to a few sandles and just Spent 2 weeks here and it’s pretty poor on a number of things, staff rude and ignorant not everyone but I would say 70%. Drinks watered down and not all top shelf, most bars run out of brands and won’t replace, you just get a cheaper version which is rubbish,I asked for a gin and tonic on one occasion and was told we have no gin sorry, well go and get some. Mixers for the drinks are mostly from the pump and not fresh Schweppes which is what I like, again if they don’t have it or run out you ain’t getting any you have to make do with soda water or the rubbish from the pump all watered down stuff. Food was fantastic but served by miserable waiters who just grunt at you or just blank you it’s like treading on eggshells when asking for something, again not all but at least 70% I asked one waiter for extra onion rings and he said I’ll go and check, when he came back his exact words were we had the last 2 ?????? we were actually going to book for Grenada when we were on this resort but not after this showing we will never return to sandles again don’t waste your money. Lots of people we spoke to had similar issues which is a shame.
