My friend from college and I took a 5 day trip to Dreams Sands Cancun, we had a very relaxing time and definitely recommend to friends, couples, and families. The beach was great-swimmable conditions and plenty of seating in the sun and shade. There were diverse food/drink options for every meal, all of which was tasty, and typically had quick service. The staff was by far the best part of Dreams Sands. Special shout out to our friend Luis Valles who made sure our stay was both comfortable and fun!! ¡Hasta próxima amigo!

We are UVC members & were here in January of 2018. At the time we felt the resort had a ways to go to be at the standard of quality that we have experienced at other AMResorts. The GOOD BEACH: sandy & water is lovely blues, great for kids; felt it was overcrowded, especially at the Preferred area FOOD we ate at Oceans & Sands (Adults Only), Gaucho (steak) & Portofino (Italian) and all were amazing HUGE thanks to Chef Erick for his attention to us during our stay Preferred Club was great & many thanks to our evening bartender for the Bailey’s shots! (I apologize for having forgotten his name) THE NOT SO GOOD: All of the concerns we had with the resort, (which we feel is now in even greater need of updating than two years ago) were addressed with our UVC rep, who kindly moved us to another room (corner suite) for the final two nights of our one week stay. There were numerous issues with our original room which were compounded by illness which may or may not have been Mold related. This resort needs some serious TLC & maintenance to bring it up to par. I will not enumerate all the concerns with our first room and the resort overall as we felt that our UVC rep made adequate effort to compensate.

Great staff, beautiful beach, older building, but clean.

Upon arriving we upgraded to Preferred which got us a private beach, a better room, premium drinks and perhaps best, access to Olio for breakfast. Initially we had trouble with our older room and they immediately put us into a remodeled room much nicer. The beach was as amazing as pictures show. We sat in the preferred area, which was much nicer and well staffed by the awesome Yazmin and Eduardo they were so friendly and helpful. Ricardo and Andres were our beach waiters and they worked hard to get us our drinks. Let's talk about food. Our favorites were Olio for breakfast and lunch run by the smiling Eduardo, a great manager. Greeting us everyday was Angelica, the hostess who was always able to find a spot for us in the cozy Olio. Our waitstaff included Erick (spanish lessons included for free) and Cesar (who quietly and efficiently kept your table supplied). For dinner we liked Portofino, the italian restaurant our waiter was always Nathanel, who did a great job. The other was the Asian restaurant, Guillermo was the manager and a great guy. The World Cafe buffet was okay, but we ended up going there 3 times during our weeklong stay. The event staff was friendly and fun especially, Carlos and his trainee Alejandro. I particularly enjoyed the water volleyball out in the ocean. My traveling companion hit the spa 3 times (2 massages, and 1 mani-pedi) and was floored by the outstanding service. Erick at the front desk, and Paulina, the masseuse were great. This hotel is geared more toward couples and couples with kids, NOT a spring break or party hotel. All in all a great trip at a great place with really exceptional staff.
