    Great Service, Awesome Fresh Food, Great atmosphere.

    The service was so good. Always right there with a smile and friendly help. Specail thanks to Jesus Morales & Gamaliel for keeping our drinks filled, getting us anything we needed immediately and the friendly faces. We loved the food stations in the buffet. All fresh cooked to order. Quick and lots to choose from. Some favorites were wok stir fried sweet and sour chicken and Shrimp and noodles. Street style tacos, zpasta dishes,emanadas, steak, chicken, hamburgers, ceviche, and large fresh shrimp on ice. Also the specialty restaurants were great. I loved the Old Barn steak house ribs and filet mignon. The activities staff were awesome too. Martin, Rosie, Iszti kept us involved. The view from the room was great. Close enough to the action to be fun. Loved the jetted tub in our Club Room. Juvencio from the cleaning staff always greeted us with smiles. The resort was very clean.

    This was our 3rd trip to the Golden. We loved the resort on our previous stays. The food is very good, and the drinks are great, staff is awesome. This stay was somewhat different. Our check in was ok, alltho the cash option for an upgrade was not available. They said we were booked into a room with 2 double beds, After much discussion We were given a king size room on the lagoon side. The room (507) was overlooking some sort of pump station and dump station that was very noisy and not a great sight. The towels in our rooms were very thin and old but were clean. The sheets and pillowcases were so thin you could see thru them! Some were stained and had holes in them. Our phone didn’t work, we reported this 4 times, then gave up on it. They must have touched up paint in our room before we checked in, my husband got white paint all over the back of his shirt from the chair. They did clean the shirt and got the paint out. Our shower doors leaked, the bathroom got flooded with every shower. The dress code in the Shangri La was being enforced, men had to wear long pants, women could wear whatever. There was a lady at The table next to us who had on shorts with just a lace bra. Room service food was cold. Overall we had a fun time. Not sure if we’ll go back.

    Another Great Visit to Golden Parnassus!

    Where do you start when you need to cover everything? I Guess I will just do it :-) Booked again through Westjet Vacations, proved to be even more important this time than all past times. (More later) Always travel with Blue Cross insurance , you never know what is gonna happen (More Later as well) Flight was uneventful and we arrived on time at CUN, cleared customs really fast and just a short delay getting bags. Enroute to bag pick up area there is a "Duty Free" and has a great selection of Alcohol at very reasonable prices. We were selected for inspection ( 2 times now ) and both times were simple and not very intrusive, nothing to fear if you get selected unless you didn't declare something then, well, that is your problem.. The inspectors are always friendly and courteous. Our Pick Up was once again with "Best Day" and are as reliable and professional as you will ever find. If you are offered BD as your transportation, take it - worth the cost and piece of mind. Great drivers , great vehicles and always bang on time! 50 pesos a bag or person is a good tip for the service. Arrival at the Golden Parnassus (GP) is always a welcoming experience, as soon as you pull up to the security gate an immediate relief and total relaxation comes over you , all Prevencion staff are absolutely professional and lurking in the background to ensure your safety and security while on site. Up you go to the lobby and as soon as the vehicle door opens there is always a friendly greeting from the "Bell Staff", we are always happy to see Julian and his "Welcome Home" greeting with a smile and a hug. They look after everything for you and get your bags to your room , they will ensure your check in is smooth and have you relaxed in no time. Often the take us over to some comfortable seats, take our passports and get us a drink while we wait for our room keys and wrist bands. They may offer you an upgrade and sometimes the price is reasonable so.. go ahead and indulge, its worth it! We do it most times. After the smooth check in, you head to the room and get your Bikini on :-) , well , my wife does anyway! hang up your clothes get familiar with your room , put stuff in your safe ( not that it is crucial because they have very trustworthy housekeeping staff ) but, for piece of mind - use the safe for passports and any travel documents. Other than cash and maybe the odd piece of jewellery there is nothing more you need to lock up ( Dont travel with expensive stuff to any country, stuff happens!) Room quality is what it is, not the most perfect room but it is comfortable and clean..We always upgrade to the Club Rooms on the top floor as it has a full fridge, free wifi, Jacuzzi and a balcony that allows you to sunbathe in your most flattering attire.. We had a minor "Banyos" issue that was dealt with really quick and again needed a second visit to correct it again and really it is no big deal, some people get all strung out over these things but believe me that there comes a time in life that puts things in perspective and if minor issues like a plugged toilet cause you to downgrade a rating then - you will always find something to be unhappy with and choosing a different resort may be your best option.. This resort was built in 1987 and has some issues but frankly nothing worth getting jacked up about.. With the room upgrade comes a wonderful "In Room" fabulous dinner! A perk that comes with the room and one you have to use! ( Club Room ) To that note, the room service at anytime is nice to have, we do about 50% of our breakfasts in our room and the other 50% downstairs.. Santiago "Santi" would always bring our breakfast and pretty much exactly what we wanted.. You can order off a card and leave it on your door or you can call down.. We do the card and if the selection is not on there just write it on the card and most times you will get it. Then , we did the in-room dinner and "Roy" is our night time guy!! Both Roy and Santiago are just so good at what they do that you never have to be afraid to ask them to correct something.. Roy brought our in-room dinner and it was hot, fresh and worthy of a 5 Star recognition. Both Santi and Roy are 5 Star employees and represent the GP with pride. Please show your appreciation when they serve you .. All restaurants are good and have reasonable quality and selections. Our Fave' is the Shangri La, Lorenzo is awesome and makes a mean Mayan Coffee (requires a wine purchase to be eligible for that "show" ) The Paradise is the buffet and has a great selection for all meals, Breakfast with Oscar is always entertaining, guaranteed to be treated like royalty! Bar and Wait staff are always on their game, never miss a beat! Fonzie, Jose, Fermin, Yoni, Nicolas, Carlos (x2) Perfecto and ALL of them give you 5 star ++ service!! They all deserve recognition. Please, Tip Well, pulling out a dollar and waving it around like its bait doesnt impress anyone, a simple discreet handing over 50 or more pesos is appreciated. Entertainment staff.. Oh boy!! Where do you start?? Just a bunch of fun people. Martin, Eliah, Rosie and staff have made massive improvements to the entertainment at the resort and deserve recognition for their efforts, Congratulations Martin for leading such an improvement to the shows and pool activities. House Keeping is excellent and our room was never untidy , Basillia kept us fresh and stocked! Thank you! Tio!!!! Tio!! You are just amazing and will go down in history as the hardest working man in Mexico.. Please remember Tio when you have a few pesos in your pocket, Tio does so much stuff behind the scene that ensures your comfort.. That is about it, for now...Thank you GP staff for always making our vacation fun, safe and memorable. Just a couple notes: When booking your trip please keep in mind travel insurance, you just never know.. We had someone go from doing a pool activity to being the recipient of a resort "Happy Birthday" song from everyone to a mis-step and severe injury that required air ambulance.. Please, Please Please, spend the few extra dollars and get travel insurance.. Accidents happen to the most responsible ones of us.. Dont take a chance, it can be life changing. Also, Booking your vacation shouldn't always go to the cheapest price, there is a reason why legacy carries are a couple dollars more, as we learned on this trip. Our flight home was canceled for over 24 hours and we didn't have to ask for anything , nothing!! Westjet and Best Day travel took care of everything and actually made our extended stay very pleasant. Yes, we all need to get home on time but sometimes "Stuff Happens" and when it does, your Travel company/Airline and Insurance can make it a bad experience or a pleasant one.. I'm glad we weren't one of those that had to get on their soapbox and tell everyone how angry they were and how much their going after everyone for compensation.... Nope, didn't have to be that guy!! Choose your vacation package wisely, always be prepared for the unexpected and always remember to show the staff your appreciation.. Dont come with 10 star expectations, come with a plan to relax and be treated like family...Till Next time! Papa..

    Our tenth trip always satisfied oscar Samuel and Gamma best waitors. Jose fermin, fonzy best bar tenders rooms are always clean. The pool and the ocean are amazing. A perfect way to get away from winter.

    Beautiful views, extremely helpful and friendly staff. All you can eat and drink. They only things missing were a coffee maker and a mini fridge in our room. The whole place was very clean. We had a great time.
