We have been traveling to Tryp for just over 10 years now and are looking forward to our next visit! The staff are beyond wonderful!! The food is good, and always a great selection. The pools and grounds are great for relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family or time on your own. The beach is gorgeous, and great for morning walks and snorkeling. Go for a short walk off the resort (to the East) to the market or climbing center. There are many excursions offered to satisfy all. Just keep in mind this is Cuba and the people and culture are it's gems in our opinions, but Tryp provides all we need to enjoy a great vacation and time with friends!

I went back to Tryp a few months ago and this review covers the updates noticed on my visit. I was hoping I'd find the same atmosphere and level of service that made me feel taken care of in my previous visit. And I was not wrong. To those who say "Cuba is Cuba, with all the plus and minus", and those who'd want a location with Cuban beaches, food and service from other destinations and what else, I tell them that Tryp is the perfect compromise on everything. It caters to solo travelers, couples, friends, families. We received friendly check-in, fast and convenient. The lobby bar is well stocked. Tryp is one of the few locations where you can have fresh champagne. Yainielys, Michel, and their team is simply outstanding, and I say this by comparing to two other locations that I visited during my stay. Yainielys made sure my glass was never empty. Michel created a custom drink for me one day when I did not want the classic ones, and I stuck to it, asking for "Cocktail Michel" everytime. I liked that. I was told that some buildings were under renovation and those rooms will be updated. I visited a newly renovated room and took a few pics. For some reason I cannot get them attached here but I hope to add them later on. I found them excellent, with new mattress, shower cabin and washroom redone. The new rooms upgrade is available when you check in, for an extra price per person per night. I found it very affordable, the rooms are NEW. And offer full/partial ocean view. I tried the a la carte's, and my first impression was that making reservations for the restaurants is simply a breeze: no more long lines during limited hours taking you away from beach time. Amazing! There is an entire team of entertainment that is top-notch, performing at Tryp. Steve Ortiz, Yanky, Cecilia, Lionet, Mary... the performers for the aquatic dance (beautiful choreography and execution!). For me, entertainment at Tryp is important. Beach is also important, and Tryp offers a wide beach, clean and cleaned. Floury sand, where kids play happily and adults relax. I was never bothered by noise and have found everyone behaving very decently, irrespective of age. Service is probably what one expects and the Cubans are well known to exceed expectations with people who see them as people. When I see guests who come in bossy, expecting the sun and the moon for free, I know that there is something wrong with them. Luckily, at Tryp, the staff respects the Golden Rule, and you are required to do the same. Treat them like you want to be treated. I have applied that rule, and found my stay comforting and comfortable. I loved how friendly and prompt the people in the buffet restaurant were. They quickly recognize newcomers and their preference, and apply this on the following days. Tryp offers omelette stations, pasta stations, bbq stations and a pizza station. It was simply great and refreshing to see how staff communicates and treats other guests, I wanted to see if there were any exceptions made and found none. Belkis in the restaurant and Belkis on the beach restaurant -two outstanding ladies. Fizz -the Chef, is such a character and so friendly to the guests and the kids! I saw the GM passing by, in the lobby, exchanging few words with guests and thanking them for their visit. Her name is Noreida and seeing the list of projects on the table that management wants to complete in upcoming future - gave me the real perspective. I realized that Tryp is not just any other resort. I cannot tell enough about all these people who strive to make it happen for their guests. I know that I felt like home, and I know I found my place to go to. For me, Tryp has the beach, the food and the drinks, the service and the warmth, the cleanliness and the entertainment that I want. During my stay, I took the double-deck bus and went to two other resorts that you can go to with the same wristband (or another local one applied at no cost). Hotel Sol (Cayo) Coco: I saw the beach bartender at Sol Coco looking fed up with his job and remembered that Michel and Yainielys at Tryp always smile to you and spoil you with their contagious good mood. At Sol Coco, after the beach bar experience (no champagne! not even at their lobby bar), I went to the buffet restaurant for lunch: I left after 5 minutes - while plating my lunch, one crawly creature was hiding under the bbq station plates! Another one under one of the food containers in the serving area. I could not eat, I rushed back "home" to Tryp to catch the last 10 minutes of lunch schedule and everyone laughed at my incident. They showed me how thorough they clean and disinfect, periodically to stay safe. The next day I went to Sol Cayo Guillermo. All typical resorts have the lobby, then pool, then some green area and then the beach. Depending on resort size. The grean area at Tryp is shorter, well maintained, gardeners work every morning and I could see their efforts. At Sol Cayo Guillermo, the green area looks untidy. The champagne served on the beach bar is watery, (7% perhaps). Don't get me wrong, Cuban rum is excellent everywhere :). The restaurant buffet at Sol Cayo Guillermo had limited choices, and the drain closest to kitchen entrance smelled of sewage so strong that I could simply not attend the bbq station nearby to order my food. I asked for water with no ice, and the waiter filled the glass with ice. When she saw me desperately remove it (I had a sore throat that day), she realized the mistake and made a dumb-silly friendly face. Understood, but my Belkis at Tryp would never do that. I saw the pasta chefs buried head down at their stations, not greeting and smiling, and I remembered Fizz and his jokes and the "glue" that he had with all kids and guests. This is how Tryp stands out: the people and their hard work. People will not work for unskilled managers, and this shows that tryp has good quality people behind the front staff. I saw a classic yellow car every now and then passing by outside, and asked if I could take a closer look. Katiusca at front desk called the driver for me and he gave me a very good price for a ride back to the airport, on my departure. I saved on transfer time and stress and got a wonderful memory. Another thing that shows when you treat others with respect - it comes back at you. I met many people who complained about furniture, food, drinks, beach and what not, in Cuba. I noticed that at Tryp you always have options, and the beach, the pool, the entertainment and the bars simply leave you little time to examine room furniture. If you want stylish furniture in your room, going to a Structube store, a royal museum or a 5 star hotel in Bora-Bora is a better option. To sum up: great work, great things and great people at Tryp, gave me great and unforgettable memories, and that is why I would go back there again.

Wow, a first at an 'all inclusive'. Relatively big bucks for free drinks, all-you-can-eat, music, games, decent rooms and great staff so whats not to like? Well we enjoyed the chats, the walks on the beach, and the tasty first lunch, though looked like the Canadian clientele had stayed away out with only half the hotel open when we visited, The beach was pretty special, white sands and lifeguards and space for yoga too. Some Canadians enjoy a week or two escaping minus figures in Alberta etc but 24 hours was enough for us and we said our goodbyes with gratitude and with fond memories before hitting the road with a hire car. Never again. Thank you Cayo Coco, especially for the very talented Cuban musicians, estupendo! Would love to come back, in very different times.

This resort has turned into my second home. I have been too many times to count lol. But I do highly recommend it. Staff are AMAZING. The food is very good and lots of selection, so no need to go hungry. The resort is super clean and gardeners are always keeping things beautiful. The beach is one of the best. So if you are looking for a great vacation and lots of fun I do highly recommend Tryp. ?????
