Stayed for a week in early April. Before going I read several reviews that stated the property was in need of an update. Worn rugs, pool chair cushions were dirty etc. in reality the resort is just fine. Sure there are some minor things that could be attended to such as some carpet cleaning and paint touch up but nothing big. Also read several reviews mentioning mold smells in the rooms. Again, in my opinion and from speaking to other guests NOT ONE said anything about mold smells, me included. Look this is a very nice resort on one of the best beaches in the world. Pricey? Yes, but that’s what you pay on Seven Mile Beach. Service was very good at the pool AND pool chairs were not hard to find morning or afternoon. Overall it was a great place to spend a week of vacation.
Great location, great service

The good - The location can’t be beat. Beach is beautiful. The food at hotel is above average. The staff were excellent across the board. They do a great job given the high volume of this property. The bad - The rooms, hallways, elevators etc. are definitely in need of some investment. The pool and beach amenities are strained. Very difficult to find a chair at beach or pool. If you are looking for a family beach vacation, this is a decent option. Highly recommend avoiding peak season if you want to relax!
Westin Cabana Rental

Rented Luxury Cabana for the day. Shawn our waiter was excellent. Attentive but not overwhelming. They give you a call button to let the server know you are desiring service. Highly recommend the fish taco’s. Westin Beach is Fantastic. Water is amazing! Totally enjoyed the experience.
Can’t wait to return in November

The entire Tortuga team was amazing! Shout out to the supervisors including Aurelio who helped my son find me one night when he thought he had lost me. Thanks so much to the Runners: Taopik, Jose, Alex and Bryan for making sure the grilled cheeses and milkshakes were perfect for my twin boys every day for a week and a half! We could never forget the warm welcome back from Tanesha, Rheverand, Dee, Shawn, Shaun, Chantelle, Issaura, Melissa, Ryan, Tinika, Giovanni, Max, Marina, Leonard, Chiara, Katherine and Chanaka! The wonderful service and attention to detail is what keeps our family returning to this slice of paradise 2x a year. Thank you Tortuga family for another A+ vacation! We will see you in November.
Horrible front desk staff

I checked in and out after 5 minutes. The front desk from supervisors to clerks are not trained in hospitality. Dumb as they come, illiterate, knows nothing about reservations,or courtesies. I made 1 reservation and got 5 confirmation emails on my Bonvoy account. All with different Confirmation numbers and prices.my final confirmation I received from Westin says - pool ocean view. Ehen I checked in the put me in room #103. My view was chairs and tables set up for Sunday brunch. It was impossible for me to use the door because set up for brunch was up yo my entrance. Yo get out 103 I woul have to go the hall way and walk up to the exit at the elevator area. I spoke to the front desk, I ask for the supervisor or manager, was told they on their phones so I asked to cancel my weekend reservation as what I am offered was unacceptable and much like a 3rd world room. I must say except for the front desk staff, the property is lively and the beach front staff are all lovely,knowledgeable,courteous friendly efficient people. Unlike the front desk staff,including supervisors.
