As a local the only time that we will stay in Waikiki is if we are attending a concert or event in Waikiki. For a lot of us we have never seen Waikiki so calm, this place is usually booming with life. During this time it has given the residents of Oahu the opportunity to appreciate our home and to take a minute to stop and smell the Plumeria's. The Aston Waikiki beach has been completely amazing for a place to make memories for our staycation. Lillian, Monica, Jenine, Makana, Krystle, housekeeping, valet, and bell staff you folks are amazing. The aloha that you folks shared with us these past two weekends is the example of the real Aloha and what Waikiki was once for. Waikiki was a place to enjoy company with family and friends. To share laughs to make memories. In the beginning we had a hick up but Monica was quick to respond and concluded the situation within minutes. The following day Lillian followed up and was very warm and made us feel even more comfortable at the pool. We ended up having so much fun we asked Lillian if we could extend, she was happy to extend us and surprised us with an upgrade that had an amazing view. We had so much fun that we decided to return the following weekend. I called last minute on a Thursday and to my surprise Lillian answered after her greeting she asked is this Mr. Kukahiwa!? To be honest all of the staff either answered with Aloha Mr. Kukahiwa or ended with a sure thing Mr. Kukahiwa. Just amazing. Lillian had helped secure a beautiful room, with added request and an even more breath taking views. The bell staff, I am so sorry I don't have the names but he greeted me with a "Welcome Back". The gentlemen from Bell service even went to get me ice for my cooler. Lillian, Makana, Krystle, and Jenine are an amazing front desk team and pool attendants. From checking on us through out the day, to filling up our cooler with ice just amazing. The Aston Waikiki beach defiantly spoils me and my ohana. Monica works in the evening and always greats me with Aloha Mr.Kukahiwa how are we enjoying our stay. Now during this pandemic this hotel has done everything that made me feel very safe and clean. My family an I are a little more on the OCD side of clean. From hand sanitizer station being all over the hotel in the right locations. To sanitizing and wiping pool furniture and common touched area's. Steam cleaning the pool deck, sanitizing the hallways and walkways. Providing mask in our "care kit" that is provided in your room. Sanitizing the rooms when providing cleaning service. Putting remotes in plastic zip locks. With all this awesome cleaning the hotel does not in anyway have an overwhelming cleanser smell. It just fresh and clean. I don't believe a hotel should be rated on just the building and accommodations. Its also the team on the frontline and behind the scenes that work hard to insure your stay is comfortable and worry free. With this pandemic and all the added steps this Hotel deserves 10 stars, but 5 stars will have to due. Aston Waikiki Beach thank you for the two wonderful weekends of amazing memories.

First off, Jenine at front desk was absolutely great! Very friendly on the phone, and when we went to check in, she was super helpful and informative. She made us feel so special! What a great way to begin our stay! Thank you Jenine!valet guys were nice also! So was bartender/ server at Tikis. Room was comfortable but a little dated. Didn't matter to us. Ac was nice and cold. View was wonderful! Bathroom was on the small side, but we were only on an overnighter so it was fine. Loved the elevator system, you swipe your key card and input your floor number, it tells you which elevator is coming. No buttons for floors in elevator car. It just takes you straight to your floor! The whole time we'r were there we always had elevator to ourselves! They even provided us with disposable masks upon entry to our room! They follow covid regulations very well. Only 5 people in the pool and towels provided. Location is great! Right across the street from the beach! Thank you Aston Waikiki Beach!!

The Aston is in a good spot in Waikiki over the road from a decent part of the beach - good for kids and not as busy as Waikiki Beach. For the price I paid, I think the hotel is great value. I also appreciated that they only charged us 6 nights not 7 even though we did not cancel the first night on time - they waived this due to our plane being struck by lightning on the way and therefore having to turn around and delay our holiday by one day. The beach chairs are big and heavy so taking them over to the beach was a bit of a pain. The pool is decent and we were always able to get chairs. The rooms were decent, clean and comfortable. We had the Coconut Club included - We booked a great deal on Black Friday for this hotel so got the Coconut Club at almost the same price as a standard "room only" deal - so therefore I feel I should not complain too much about it, but if I had to pay more than I did, I would be VERY disappointed. The view and the actual room the club is in are great. The breakfast and evening food are just ok, we stayed 6 nights and I was so sick of looking at the same food each day we hardly ate there, we just had a coffee at night most of time and really just went for the views. The drinks they provide are sweet and sickly - I didn't mind having one or two but my husband didn't like them at all. The ice cream ran out a couple of times, so my son missed out on that when he was really looking forward to it. The fruit (strawberries) to add to yogurt was cut up so fine it was mushy, however this is all I ended up eating for breakfast every day as nothing else appealed to me. So unless you can get an amazing deal for the Coconut Club, don't do it, or if you are staying for a week, book it once maybe (even then you really don't need to). My suggestion to the hotel would be to have better quality food and serve nicer drinks - I would happily pay more for this. You have a great spot that could be so much better.

Our family (husband, wife and 5 kids) loved our stay at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel from May 31 to June 4, 2019. Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is a comfortable and welcoming beach-front hotel in a fantastic location. The staff is helpful and friendly. Our family enjoyed several meals at Wolfgang Puck Express, situated at the hotel’s ground floor. And since we were billeted at the 24th floor, and the hotel is facing the beach, the views, especially of the sunset, were awesome! Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel’s location is great! Just across the street is the world-famous Waikiki Beach, so it was the easiest thing to cross the street and enjoy Waikiki Beach at any time. A short walk away is Royal Hawaiian Center, with its food court and shops for dining and shopping pleasure. Many other restaurants are walking distance, such as Eggs N’ Things and McDonald’s (a must if you have five kids). A block away is St. Augustine by the Sea (Catholic) Church, where our family attended Sunday Mass. Thank you Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel for a fun, memorable stay! (Apologies for the delay in writing out this review. After a busy 2019, we are now all staying at home due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Our prayers for everyone’s good health, safety and well-being, including the hotel staff and employees. We look forward to the time when we can all safely travel again and enjoy the hospitality of good hotels like this one.)

For me and my family I loved the location. It is on the edge of the strip bordered by the beach in front and the zoo on one side. I did not pay extra for the ocean view but still had a fabulous view of the beach. The safe was pleasant and helpful. If you are looking for a comfortable but more barebones hotel this is a great option.
