This review is for the Aulani's accomodations, beach and pools only I will be reviewing Makahiki Buffet, Off the Hook, Ulu Cafe and the Ka Wa'a A Lu'au separately I read many negative reviews for Aulani about the resort being run down, rude staff, crowded, characters hard to find, stupid lineups daily for bracelets etc, etc. We did NOT experience this at all, it was a fantastic fun 2 weeks Family of 4 adults + 11yr old + 9yr old in 2 bedroom villa for 2 weeks. Pullout sofa and chair are super comfortable, thick foam mattress on each, easy to set up and put away. Beds were comfortable, with storage space underneath perfect for storing suitcases, shoes etc. Bathrooms were spacious, love the sliding doors, lots of hooks and clothes lines, always hot water Bacony x 2 lots of seating, spacious and safe. 7th floor was perfect just over the treetops Washer & dryer, lifesaver Kitchen well stocked, fridge with ice maker, dishwasher TV good selections of channels, 3 TV's in the villa + Blu-Ray + DVD (go and get free movies at Pau Hana Room each night) Housekeeping on the 7th floor were excellent, very friendly Beach Loungers always available, we never looked for any near pools only because we liked the beach Pools clean Beach clean Towels plentiful Free Boogie Boards, Beach toys Resort was big enough to not feel crowded but still small enough that all ammenities were a short walk. 9 yr old spent lots of time in the Lazy River, beach and ocean 11 yr old loved the beach, swimming in the ocean and walking down to the other lagoons We felt it was okay for the kids to do things on their own checking in with us every now and then, no problems All staff really friendly and helpful Across road from resort is everything you need: ABC store, Starbucks, Pizza place, Ice Cream, Taco place 6 min car ride to Kapolei gives you more selection Target, Outback, Marshalls, Foodland Market, Down to Earth (better than Whole Foods), much more Overall our stay at Aulani was perfect, relaxing but not boring, lots of things for everybody to do.

We stayed at Aulani with our children aged 12 and 9, based on word of mouth and reviews on travel sites. Will never stay again. Would not recommend. Extremely overpriced for the over-all comfort and amenities at the resort. The dinner buffet was EXACTLY the same each night, and was nearly $200 USD. There is essentially nothing to do aside from swim in the crowded pools. Almost all activities are an add-on charge.

Topaz is Awesome! But the TV and WIFI is something to be desired

Aloha, We stayed at the Aulani Resort for my girlfriends daughter's 11th birthday along with a few of her friends. We had a great time and wanted to put together a shout out to one great server, Topaz. The Good... I want to comment on a great job that Topaz, our server at "Off the Hook" on Saturday, January 11, 2020. We were there for most of the day watching the NFL Divisional Play-Off games. It was a windy/rainy day but Topaz made it great by always flashing her amazing smile while offering great suggestions on food and drink. She listened to the kind of beer I drank and gave a few suggestions. She even went as far as offering "Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water" to help spice up the Bloody Mary my girlfriend was drinking. She should be given a raise as well as coach the other servers as she was quite exceptional. The staff in general are top notch. From the valet, bell, greeters, front desk staff, and housekeepers. Most were great to interact with. I really wish I took down names of those that stood out. The room was awesome! We had a 2 bedroom suite, complete with kitchen and 2.5 baths. The room was perfect for our get together. Now the not so good... The TV was sketchy throughout the day and night and could probably be contributed to the windy day and bad weather. But it made it very difficult to watch the games as it would glitch constantly and freeze for 15-30 seconds. Just long enough to miss the important plays and replays. I assume Aulani must use an over the top service like DirecTV or Dish as the sky was cloudy and raining with a lot of wind gust, which would explain the signal problems. The WIFI was also unusable as the SSID kept dropping out in the guestroom. With the remote location of the resort and cellular signal sparse...this made the experience that much worse. I'm also not sure if Aulani uses an over the top vendor for WIFI but its strange that the SSID would drop out due to usage like what was explained to me on the problem. I would suggest that housekeeping turn on the ice maker when they are done cleaning the freezer so that a little ice could be made when the guest checks into the room. I would also like to see some basic condiments in the room like salt/pepper. As a new member of the Disney Vacation Club, I look forward to repeat visits to the Aulani resort and hope to see all the awesome staff working there that made our experience great!

Great place to stay!!! We really enjoyed our stay here even though we didn't have any children with us it was still a relaxing vacation. Our room was fantastic, had a great view of the ocean and pools, there are a couple of pools and hot tubs. an adult only pool and hot tubs, so if you want to get away from all the kids you can. there is a lazy river along with a inner tube slide and water slide. the beach there is great, never feels crowded. there are a couple of restaurants on site kinda pricey but there are a couple of places to eat within walking distance. there is a parking fee (unless you're DVC member) so be prepared for that. Loved our stay can't wait to go back.

We are DVC members and this is our home resort. Lots of activities for kids and adults - canvas painting, shirt painting, Aunties (kids club), water slides, lazy river, yoga... and Disney characters (Moana, Stitch, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Duffy - didn’t see Daisy). They are the only place I’ve seen ocean yoga (yoga on a paddle board). Food at Ulu cafe is very good (poke bar, pizza...). Food delivered to room or pool side is sub-par (long time, dry, over cooked...). People save pool chairs all day. Who sits at the pool from sun up till sun down? Nobody... but they’ll (“e-cigarette guy”) save 7 chairs for a family of 4 all day at the beach and at the pool? Yup this guy tried to smoke e-cigarettes too at Disney Resort! The towel people remove those that aren’t at their chair sometimes but someone really needs to crack down on chair hogs!
