Rio is proud of its high LGBTQ rating, which is why we didn't stay on site. I am left handed, which is a born trait, not a chosen behavior. You ought to see me try to work on the car. Where are my special rights? Anyway, the casino itself was clean and well lit and you can accumulate points on your Caesar card. We ate at the buffet and caught Penn and Teller's show at night.

The room was a short walk from the elevators, which were never more than a minute to the floor. Never a problem with the key working or being bothered when the DND sign was placed outside the door. Room service was great and the person taking our order informed us upfront that the gratuity was included on the check. I always give a little extra to show that the service is appreciated! The food was hot and fresh with plenty of condiments to please! We stayed for a week and was often asked by the house keeper that we passed in the hallway if there was anything we needed or if we wanted the room cleaned that day, I appreciated the fact that service was offered rather than having to ask. The entire staff at the hotel was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Rio offers everything you could ask for all under one roof! I like the fact that the Valet Parking is still free unlike Hotels on the strip. My favorite place to enjoy my Vegas Experience!

Great location but service could improve

The hotel room had a good size and the bed was comfortable yet a little outdated. The room did not even have a coffee maker nor a microwave. We were also surprised with an additional $238 per room resort fee that was unexpected. We were told that it was due to booking through an external website. Had it not been a business trip, I would have booked somewhere else. The location was good for being off yet close to the strip. Unfortunately, they don’t offer shuttle service.

Don't recommend - this experience was much different from 2012. No free shuttle, buffet only for dinner, outdated rooms, few and expensive restaurants, fair customer service. I recommend staying on the strip or at one of the Station Cassino's instead.

    Great property!

Loved the size of room and the wall of windows. Very smart to have the in room safe at eye level made access convenient. For a smoking room, no overwhelming smell like other properties. Gaming areas were well spread out-not cramped offered a great variety of fun. Lots of dining choices, never wanted to leave the property. Clear presence of security was reassuring. Hotel staff was friendly & welcoming. I was always acknowledged with a smile. Loved the expedited checkout kiosks located by the elevators. Overall , a great stay.
