There were lovely aspects of this hotel and there were some things I didn’t care for and thought it was worth mentioning! First as far as the hotel itself and handling the Covid and making us feel safe, I’d give them an A+. Upon arrival your temp is checked and everything is sanitized etc. At every elevator there’s sanitizer attached next to the button ( which was pretty cool) and at the entrance of every restaurant they also required you take a squirt of sanitizer. All the staff had on their mask 24/7! We were traveling all the way from Las Vegas w 1yr old and 4yr old celebrating our 10yr anniversary and our son’s 4th bday. Bc we arrived a lil early our room wasn’t ready so the front desk rep told us to come back after we had lunch. Which we did and it was in fact ready. Finally getting to the room was a sigh of relief. Upon entering the room we noticed they had a Happy anniversary sash across the door. Once we entered the room we noticed a bottle of champagne and 2 flutes which was really thoughtful. So after all that we pretty much glazed over everything else and went right out to the patio w the beautiful ocean view! BUT after coming back inside the room my husband went into the bathroom and that is when he found a couple of used Q-tips laying next to the tub! Now I don’t know who, what or how housekeeping could have missed this but it was pretty upsetting that we had a lil one and the idea that she could have got a hold of it and picked it up! Especially in the middle of a pandemic. So my husband called down to front desk and explained to them what he found, she apologized and sent someone up to clean and sanitize the whole bathroom. After that ordeal all we wanted to do was take a shower and get ready for dinner. That’s when after 3 mins in the shower the drain became clogged and flooded over onto the floor. I had to wait until all the water drained out before I could even take my shower. After dinner my husband stopped by front desk to inform them about the shower incident. But no one came to fix it. It wasn’t until the next day when housekeeping came and he explained why every towel was sprawled across the floor and she then turned on the shower to see for herself that she then called it in and someone came to fix it! After it was fixed someone did call and ask if I was in fact fixed. So we did get off to a rocky start and not once we asked we asked if we wanted to move to another room. Other than a few cracks here and there the room was functional. I felt housekeeping either came too early or too late.. it seem like we were always there when she came. And for all inclusive the I’m room mini bar was pretty limited THE FOOD — the selection was a lil disappointing. We stayed Sun -Fri and ate breakfast and lunch at Mrs Ruby’s as the main buffet was closed( the only option). The food wasn’t all that and became very repetitive. The one spot the never disappointed was the food truck which served jerk chicken, burgers and fries and we ate there everyday! The steakhouse was the most disappointing. The empanadas was lukewarm and my ribeye was tough. And they had all these cats walking around coming under the table. My son was screaming out mommy the cat crying lol. If you did not have reservations for the night you were left w ordering room service which only served burgers, pizzas, fries and wraps. The best experience we did have was at the Mediterranean restaurant. Everything from the food and service was perfect. There was a guy who was out front who might have been maybe the manger bc he was inside/ outside.. he was everywhere but he was also helping our sever. He came over and conversed w our 4yr and asked if he wanted something special which he wanted a pizza a fries. Everything was lovely there. The service at the Oriental restaurant was good but once again the food just ok. It wasn’t until the day that we were leaving that the actual buffet was open and we got to have breakfast there before checking out! Overall the property itself is very well kept, the pool area is cool and the beach area is also nice! We loved the lifeguard on duty at the post. My 4 yr old also loved the water park area he had all to himself.

I read a lot of positive reviews and I was also referred by family members that have stayed at this property. To be fair, I will give you the pros and cons b4 giving a detailed experience of my issue with my room. Positives - The resort grounds absolutely beautiful. The food at the Asian and Steakhouse delicious. The pool and service by the pool was good too. Negatives - This is not a Covid friendly resort. I must say that apart from the pool, beaches and Steakhouse restaurant, everything else is indoor. They had a DJ on Friday night and the room was packed, no social distancing and nearly anyone wearing masks The resort needs an upgrade, rooms musty, old, bathrooms dirty. The stench on the 4th floor lobby, was so bad. The buffet nothing to write home about. The beach terrible.. you can't walk on the beach without being hassled to buy stuff from locals. The front desk staff need additional training on customer service. There is really nothing to do apart from the pool and the beach. For the amount of money charged per night they could have done better. Now let me share my issue with my room. Whatever you do, DO NOT reserve the Family suite. Its a rip off. We are a family of 5 and reserved the Oceanview family room. We travel quite a bit and have stayed at so many all inclusive properties, so we know one or two things about all inclusive resorts. The first thing we noticed was the strong odor on our floor upon getting off the elevator. The air was off and the odor was terrible. Upon entering our room it was so musty and in need of an upgrade, the bathroom was nasty with molds and mildew. The Oceanview was terrible, we could see the ocean far away and absolutely no view of the property, all we saw was the roof. It was so terrible and just put a bad taste in our mouth. We tried switching rooms, but it was like pulling teeth. The manager apologized and said the pictures on the website does not accurately show the view of the room because the picture was taken from an handle. So basically admitting to false advertisement. She apologized and her only option was to downgrade us to a JR suite with 2 beds with no refund back. Eventually after going back and forth and asking for their main Boss, a miracle finally happened and lo and behold a better room with a better view became available the next day. By that time it was already too late to change our first impression. Save your money. Try the Riu or Royalton instead

Everything here is top notch. You can tell that everyone here really cares a lot about making sure everything is perfect. They are especially considerate of these 2020 times with best practice distancing and sanitization. I booked a beachfront suite and really appreciate experiencing the amazing views and environment. For me it’s worth the upgrade to have a super nice private space on the ocean. I have been so well fed and taken care of at the restaurants, bars, and room service. I really enjoy the buffet restaurant where they prepare and serve such a nice variety of delicious dishes. Special shout out to Weedy in the kitchen. Much respect and appreciation to all the staff at the Iberostar for making this a wonderful vacation. This is my second visit and it won’t be my last. I don’t usually write reviews but just love it here so much. If you are choosing a home base for your dream Jamaica vacation you can not go wrong with the Iberostar Rose Hall.
