Total disappointment. The view and the location are great but it doesn’t make up for the awful service. The bars and restaurants were understaffed and had workers that had a carefree attitude. Long waits to get drinks and food. Also, the bars were constantly running out of liquor and wine and would never restock during the day. I would never go back. They have the I have your money already and we don’t care attitude.

Our rm was a 2nd flr Garden Terrace: Ample space; well-appointed, quiet with a swimming pool n spa just outside the door. No bathtub. Don't want steps, ask for a 1st flr rm. "Villa" was furthest from other amenities. No big deal. Our 5 day/4 night visit was for R&R--do as little as possible. This is our 5th different Sandals as we have come to love these resorts, but the food and service was not 5-star for this otherwise stunning resort. Front office staff was welcoming and polite, but after serving warm champagne, they then couldn't get our dinner reservation correct (tried 2 times), so we skipped the loyalty dinner and took the incorrect reservation to Baccarat, 1 of 3 restaurants that require a reservation. Make sure to bring a credit card for the $400 deposit; they don't allow debit cards for this purpose. No big deal, we used our debit card as needed and then settled remaining charges (wine upgrades) at checkout. We fogot to pack suntan lotion; the nice, but very expensive gift shop charged $25 for 7 ounces of Coppertone. (t-shirts/ball caps are near $40). The Crystal and Baccarat restaurants were disappointing in most respects. There was a lack of attentiveness and a lack of attention to detail. The food was average across the board. We joined two other couples after our Baccarat experience and they said much the same...and worse. On the brighter side and more in keeping with Sandals standards, we were delighted with Gordon's (reserve early!), the Criketteers Pub (cheeseburgers, fish-n-chips) and Napoli, where you can order a decent pizza. Spices was always great for breakfast and different menus each day for lunch. There are 2 large, beautiful pools and several smaller spread throughout. Plenty of lounge chairs. Want your choice, be out early. (If you get butler service, your butler will secure chairs for you.) The gym (at penthouse level) is very nice with free weights, universal, and cardio (recumbent bike, elliptical, treadmill). The view is beautiful! We'd like to think that our food and service experience was a one-off, which is exactly what we shared with management. Nevertheless, we'll try other Sandals resorts before going back to the Royal Bahamian

??Review of our stay?? (Long post!) As I type this with tears streaming down my face that I’m back to reality... ?? ??Airport We arrived to the Sandals check in at the airport, and our bags were tagged and we were on the shuttle within minutes. A 10 minute ride and we pulled up to paradise! ??Check in Uno, the concierge was phenomenal. Greeted us, gave us an iPad to check in, champagne and a cookie. We relaxed for a few minutes on the couch and our room was ready. Seamless. ?? Room We had the Windsor oversized walkout. LOVED it! I loved stumbling out and being at the breakfast buffet at Casanova’s within seconds. ?? The room was spacious, bed was heavenly, and hallways were quiet after 9:30 pm. We slept like babies! The only thing I missed was a bathtub, but the hot tubs made up for it. ???? ??Room service My fave was the charcuterie board. I ordered this every day! The seasonal fruit tart was to die for, also. Room service told us on the phone it would be within 40 mins. It always came within 20! We didn’t order dinner on room service, but enjoyed snacks and dessert daily. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet so much that we didn’t do breakfast in the room, either. ??Island THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP! Do not miss this. The resort wouldn’t be half as amazing without the island. Boat ride is 5-6 mins. Worth it. Stay all day! Cabanas galore, and it’s just a different feel there. We snorkeled, I saw a shark and tons of fish. I thought about hiding in the bushes and staying here forever. ??Pools Windsor pool was louder, music playing, etc. Not my cup of tea... Balmoral pool was quieter and relaxing. The pool on the island was by far my favorite! Quiet, comfortable and it seemed like no one else was there but us. ?? ???????Spa We got a massage, and it was heavenly! We got it at the main spa in the Balmoral building. Pricey, but hey. We were on vacation.... ??Loop A MUST! I can’t believe so many of the guests didn’t know about this. We needed more hangers, requested on loop and were there within an hour. Requested 80s music at the pool, it happened! Quick response and was a great way to compliment the staff. Download the Sandals app and use the loop while on property! So much easier than calling and waiting in line for the concierge. ??Drinks I really wish there was a drink menu at the bars, but we just asked other guests what they were drinking if it looked good. A lot of their signature drinks were so sweet, so a lot of times I stuck with vodka sodas. What we loved: Mango Daquiri made with mandarin vodka Mudslide Pina Colada Mojito Bob Marley We pretty much drank all day ?????? I’ve seen several reviews on the bartenders, and we encountered one that was sort of pissy... but the others were awesome. Never waited more than a few minutes for a drink. Very pleased with their service. You will not go without a drink here. There’s a bar every 20 ft! ??Schooners We did lunch AND dinner here. The view is BEYOND amazing on the island. Food was ok. Nice for lunch, I would not go back for dinner. For lunch we loved the pork sliders and burger. Dinner we ordered surf and turf and it was so so. ??Gordon’s Amazing! Scallops were amazing, we got a double order! They come on a piece of cornbread with pulled pork- not sure what that’s about?! I got them by themselves.... Surf and turf was delicious. The best steak we had there. Dress code was lax, men had flip flops which I was surprised about, but whatever. It’s beautiful and so good! ??Casanova Loved it! Loved the antipasto bar, chicken parm and veal chop. Waited 30 mins for a table, and good service once we got seated. Yum! ??Kimonos My favorite! The food was HOT which was nice since most things weren’t served super hot elsewhere. Fresh food, and fun to sit at the table with others. Met some awesome people! Don’t miss Kimonos. ??Spices My least favorite. Average service, average food. It was our first day there so we needed something quick. It was ok. I would skip if it we went back. ??Cricketers Loved the wings, fries and everything else! ????Great for a bite by the pool or an app before dinner. Fish and chips were out of this world! ??Bella Napoli Great pizza. Loved the fig and prosciutto. Takes a LONG time. 45 mins to an hour, so order before you’re hungry. ??Extras: - insulated cup - Dramamine (for after boats and snorkeling) - popcorn and ice cream in Royal theater - super easy to get to the downtown market! Don’t miss this- cheap souvenirs and $5 round trip on the bus. - killer cookies in the balmoral check in area every day! - get your snorkel gear (if you’re renting it) on day 1 and keep it with you. We couldn’t get it on a red flag day but still wanted to go in... thankfully we brought one set and shared... - bring a new raft! They’ll blow it up for you at the dive shop. - check out the on site re-booking place! We got a smoking deal and are going to SRC next year ?? ??Cons - I wish they did a better job of letting you know what’s going on during the day. Every time we went to get the print out sheet, the concierge wasn’t there. We had to go to the theater and read what was posted. Would be nice if daily we could get a sheet of what’s going on. We felt this was the biggest area for improvement, the communication. ??ENJOY! Honestly, this was our first time away from our kids in 9 years. It was long overdue! We are so thankful for this time together, and the trip was incredible! The water, the people, everything. We felt so relaxed... thank you SRB, we cannot wait to return! Ps- Thank you to Jaydon in the travel department for getting us re-booked for next year! Jaydon, you are a beautiful soul with a great personality. Thank you for your help and insight! ??????

I’d like to say this is my first trip ever, anywhere and I am not one to complain, however, I literally cried in disappointed the first day. We paid for an ocean view and got a dirty, outdated, banged up room with a TREE IN OUR VIEW! After a 3 hour wait for our room and not being able to find our reservation in the system I was already frustrated day one with the service and room. After complaining, we did get moved to the 6th floor, still banged up room but better view. Food was average, nothing to brag about, reservations had to be made at 3 of the restaurants and proper dress attire was mandatory. Not that I drink much but no top shelf liquor here! Tito’s and absolute were as top as you will see, every other kind of booze was garbage. The weather was perfect everyday (thank god) but lounging at the beach or pool is all you can do here. I expected much more when my travel agent told me we would not have to leave the resort, there was shopping and plenty of restaurants. One outrageously priced gift shop ( we paid $26 for sunscreen). Most of the staff was very friendly but not all. I spoke with so many people and also overheard so many people complaining about there experience with the service and there stays. Not worth what we paid, huge disappointment. We will not be going back. Highlights of our trip: the island across the way ( which sandals only owns half of) but it was lovely. And the beautiful breezy, clear 80 degree weather everyday. I read a review that said no towels at the pool everyday.. this is TRUE. We learned to take 4 towels to our room every night when we did find them. Pictures are of the room we had, yes, that was my sheets as I pulled back the bedding the first night to go to sleep. Banged up walls, dirty glass and mirrors, glass stain rings on furniture.

    Accommodations and service fell short

I will preface with we had a great time at this resort. I would still likely visit again bc of proximity but my expectations are lower. We honeymooned at Sandals Grenada in September. Sandals RB does NOT compare on any level in service or room quality. We stayed in the Windsor tower on the 3rd floor in an Oversized Honeymoon club level room. It was basic at best. These rooms are VERY dated and in dire need of full gut and remodel. The furniture is old, worn, torn ottoman, sink in cushions, patio floor tile cracked, tile by bathroom cracked in multiple places, end tables scratched, drink rings on counters, and very poorly lit. These rooms are dark and dated. The AC dripped condensation on the also old rug and wreaked of mildew. The entire 3rd floor of the Windsor tower smelled like mold. After voicing complaints with NO follow up on day 3 I complained again and we were moved to the same room on the 6th floor. We were grateful to not smell mildew anymore but the room was a replica of dated, dark, and in need of renovation. Service was ok, it wasn’t awful, just average at best. Never saw drunk service at pool or beach in 5 days. There were no towels almost daily and you would have to go look for them. The Windsor pool bar never had sands beer, only Kalik. Never did staff offer to stick for you the next day, we would have to venture to the pub or lobby to get it ourselves and then ice it ourselves as well. Same thing happened at the royal theater. They had no Titos. No one offers again to replenish and we run around looking for it to bring back ourselves. That’s not 5 star top dollar service in my opinion. We did still have a great time, food is what you expect from Sandals, beach was beautiful, and the island was great. But if ur looking for 5 star luxury and pampering, go to Sandals Grenada.
