Great stay at Rooms on the Beach
Paula B on Mar 17, 2024
Place is small, friendly and comfortable. Office, restaurant, bar, ice machine and our room was close to the beach which was great. Not a 5* by any means as needs some TLC (we had mold on the ceiling and AC in our room) but we were comfortable and would definitely go back. Beach is beautiful with plenty of choices for restaurants and bars. The restaurant at Rooms only serves Breakfast and Lunch. For breakfast was toast, fruit, one egg, sweets, juice, tea or coffee or you can order from the menu as you want to pay. Their lunch was delicious and very reasonably priced. Loved that we were walking distance to a small variety store "Sweet Spot" to buy our water and pop. Also really close to Miss Sonia's for her delicious patties and Caletta's for their delicious dinners. Also, ate at Best in the West which is known for their Jerk Chicken. You can travel around in their local Route Taxi or hire your own cab. It can be a bit noisy at night because of the bars on the beach but we wore ear plugs. Staff was very friendly especially Charmaine at the front desk. This place is a great location and very affordable but as mentioned this is not for you if you are looking for a 5*.

Lovely little hotel. perfect spot right on Negril 7 mile beach - right next to Woodstock which was great for live music & karaoke & Kamara's for delicious food. The rooms were spacious, with a good shower. The staff were freindly, the food was great, fresh fruit continental breakfast included. Will certainly return

Dated, but pleasant! Great location!!

I will start this review with the negative comments... Hotel/rooms are dated but clean. could use some re-vamping The beer bottles in piles around the property were very off-putting. Having to haul our luggage up a very long flight of steps was difficult, especially owing to the fact that my partner has issues with one leg and has to wear a brace. On the positive side... the staff were very friendly and always helpful!! Special mention to Charmaine, Tenisha, Iesha, and Darnet. The beachfront was maintained very well, although they had had a severe storm a couple days before we arrived and there were mounds of seaweed on the beach. There were beach towels and beach chairs enough for everyone. Breakfasts were great! We had the continental breakfast each morning and my partner who is a big eater was very satisfied. I however, am not a huge breakfast person, so found it too much. I asked for smaller quantities after the first morning and they were happy to oblige. There were restaurants and good "street foods" right across from the hotel and short walks from the hotel. Would I return to Rooms...I won't say NO. We met a lot of visiting Canadians, which was a positive. Honestly, this was our first time staying in a non-all inclusive hotel, so it was different!
Hotel on the beach

Practical easy to reach on the beach hotel. A can be quite noisy if you're in Building 3 due to the music coming from the bar nextdoor. The staff are ok. I would stay here again as it is more authentic. The hotel provides continental breakfast with the room but you will need to pay extra for a traditional breakfast also they don't serve evening meals but there are a few places you can go to eat out e.g. Flags on the beach where you can get flesh cooked lobster.
