Stayed on the grounds for several hours for a birthday party. Service at seafood restaurant was good, grounds are superb, and free boat ride was great. Not sure if I'd stay there because cheapest room is just a standard room, and villas are too expensive

We decided to trade in snow for Palm trees this past Christmas, and booked JW because of location, and amenities. Although we arrived slightly before check in time, we had to wait over 3 hours for our room. But it was Christmas Day, and the hotel was extremely busy. Once we finally got our room, we were on the 4th floor with a garden view. The Starbucks in the lobby was a big selling feature for me.. and the lobby area was were we spent most of our nights if we weren’t off the property. We ate at 3 of the restaurants over our 8 night stay. And used the pools about 5/8 days. Kids loved everything about this vacation. Thanks Marriott for the happy memories. Overall we were happy with the hotel, and would stay again.

I love coming to this JW! If I’m spending nights at the property for work, getting a massage at the spa, or just having dinner at one of the restaurants, there is one consistent thing: happy friendly helpful employees! Definitely like the modern look of the rooms and the spacious lobby. You can go for a complimentary boat ride to a restaurant, or just take a tour of the property. You might get accosted by friendly ducks or geese... so keep an eye on them. Be sure to sign up for Marriott’s reward program... when you hit a tier, there are lifetime reward benefits! Gerry is one heck of a server in the lobby bar; top notch! The front desk staff, including Mason, is the epitome of professionalism. He truly puts people first, acts with integrity and excellence, in a service-related capacity. The restaurant staff have been awesome and it’s great to have a location on the property open to get food. As we embrace the changes in the world, it’s reassuring to know the General Manager, Tom Tabler, has imparted these qualities on his employees.

Luxurious room with a kitchenette was eminently usable as a business travel beachhead. Room service every third day was No Problem for me, and the adjacent golf course was a definite Plus! Conveniently located and professionally maintained, I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in February. We are a family of 4, with our kids aged 11 and 5. This was the 'premium' part of our holiday to California so we booked a Signature suite with breakfast package which had a separate bedroom and living area and lake view. Including taxes and resort fee it all came to an eye watering nearly $800 a night so we were expecting great things! The hotel itself is lovely, the grounds are beautiful with flamingoes on the golf course as soon as you enter the hotel. There is a boating lake connected to the hotel with boat trips around the resort every night. Also a 18 hole putting course for the kids with the mountains in the background. The pool area is also nice with plenty of space with the pool heated to a beautiful temperature which meant it was no problem at all to use the pool until sunset even though it was February. You also get the benefit of a sunset everyday which was a real treat. The room we had was huge, with fantastic huge televisions etc. and a lovely bathroom. The kids however had to share a sofa bed which was not ideal, and there really wasn't much wardrobe space considering the size of the room. The staff were really attentive looking after everything we needed and we had some good nights sleep in the hotel. Breakfast was a treat, although I am glad it was part of the package as for the buffet it would have been nearly $100 each day for a family of 4. Great selection of anything you could have wanted and I am sure the other restaurants in the resort would have been just as high quality (and price :). Location was good, not far from the freeway and local restaurants although downtown Palm Springs is still 20-30 minute drive away. We did a great trip to the Joshua Tree National Park on one day which was just over an hour away. Overall, this is a beautiful resort which I can definitely recommend, but can't give 5 stars just for the value for money element - there are just as nice resorts out there in the world at cheaper prices and with a better room set up for a family of 4.
