The resort is beautiful, the grounds are lovely and give you the feel of a quality resort, and the rooms and interiors were very clean and looked very nice. The pools, swim up-bars, food options were amazing. The beach was nice but very small, go expecting to sit by the pool. The food was great bar when they cooked me a steak from fresh, it was left out raw next to other meats and gave me a bad stomach. Also, the drinks are amazing but they blend them with ice and end up with big clumps of ice. The staff were amazing but they expect tips, which is unusual for British tourists, but we gave a few dollars if we got exceptional service. The Italian restaurant is also the only one you have to book, but we found the Mexican and Tapas restaurants to be much better. If you want to do excursions also keep in mind that the only way out of the resort is mainly by taxi, and they charge extortionate prices. The shop onsite is extortionate as well charging $65 for a pair of flip flops. So come prepared.

The night shows were fantastic and before I forget I want to thank Omar for recommending me not to miss the shows honestly, like the rest of my family, I have the good habit of going to bed very early so if it had not been for the good recommendations we would have missed the night shows In addition to that, everything in the hotel was better than expected, the service, food and drinks, I can only say WOW and thanks
Although the beach front was lacking due to an undisclosed mangrove, the overall stay was great.

We were offered to upgrade our room upon checking in for $130 & we weren't sorry we did it. We received a room with a swim up pool at the very end, so no cross traffic. Amazing area. Beach access isn't really a thing but if you're happy with the pool, great place.

Some aspects of this resort are excellent but sadly they are falling short in too many ways for guests to overlook them. Our trip was organised by my daughter as a special family celebration... Whilst we had a great time together & made lots of memories, the trip was overshadowed by a number of issues. The hotel is nice looking & the welcome we received on check in was really promising. Our rooms were spacious & clean albeit a little tired & not as polished & perfect as we would expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel. Beds were comfortable & clean & air con worked well. As examples...Our iron was faulty & one of our coffee mugs was badly chipped... We had to ask several times for these to be replaced. Staff at the pool bars are overworked & too busy to have time to engage with guests. Waiting times for drinks & food is way too long. Often orders via pool staff never turn up. Bar staff never smile!!! Exceptions being Javier from Zavaz (who is an absolute gem... Nothing is too much trouble for him & he was genuinely lovely) & Roberto from Pizza Pizza who was warm & engaging. On the flip side of this Veronica (evening/night reception) was dismissive, rude & unhelpful & I honestly do not know how she holds such a customer facing role... She needs retraining or moving to another position. The grounds are lovely & well maintained & the guys who deal with pool towels work hard. The beach is nowhere near as awful as some reviews make out. Cygnus, a band who played on the beach were excellent but silly hotel rules mean they have to finish early. Overall, this resort could easily lift their game but in order to do so they would need a strong management team who are genuinely focused on customer satisfaction. A few small changes would make a huge difference.... Most responses to reviews are met with pretty genetic responses that come across as an attempt to pacify guests rather than actually hearing the guests concerns, with a view to addressing issues & making changes to rectify the problems. My only other comment is that the hotel shops are outrageously overpriced & are taking liberties with a captive audience.....

Febe , Yadi, Plutarco Lopez and Dorian Cigarroa made our trip fantastic . They took care of our reservations . Throughout our stay they are an asset to your hotel ….they were all very polite and professional. The beach is lacking but the resort is great
