The pillows are the best! Everything about this resort is amazing! Our butlers Arè and Manuel are the absolute best this is our second time to come here and second time to have those butlers and I wouldn’t have it any other way. These guys go out of there way to help and they are what makes this resort the best. I can’t tell you enough how these guys make this place the best experience ever! They are a great team and they know all the ins and outs of this place. The cleaning ladies are also amazing and they do a great job. I would give this resort a 10 star ?? review if I could. If you ever come here make sure to ask for Arè and Manuel to be your butlers they make this resort the best place! We plan on coming back here at least twice a year and we hope these 2 guys are here to serve us every time. The food is also amazing the pools are always very clean and everyone here makes you feel at home. We have been to lots of places and El-Cid has been the best of them all. We recommend Ventus that’s our favorite but Ventus Ha is very nice and so is Marina however we prefer Ventus. We also recommend swimming with the dolphins and fishing. We went out on Mojio boat and those guys were amazing!

We had a wonderful time with our family at Marina. The kids loved the cliff jumping and the activities throughout the day. Definately recommend this location to take your family.

Pros: The grounds are beautiful, lots of fun animals and birds. Hotel staff was mostly nice and helpful. Great massage at the spa. Kids loved the beach volleyball and frozen drinks. Cons: Dinner reservation system- only can get very early or late if at all. We only got reservations for 3 nights of our trip but I spoke to people who got none! Food was just okay in general. Long lines at the buffet. No snacks available unless you go to the buffet or buy. Room service menu is lacking. If you have an early excursion (leave at 7 am), you have to order off overnight menu, which has no breakfast items. Gross beer stocked in fridge. You had to be at the pool at 6:30 am to reserve chairs, there was no enforcement by the hotel of not saving chairs. Many chairs were not used for hours which was really frustrating. You could find chairs on the beach which was not nice. I felt bad for the workers who worked so hard to clean it up, but there is just too much seaweed. They charge as much or more than the US for everything that is not included, but it’s just not as nice, leaving you feeling ripped off. Even though gratuity is supposedly included, it’s not, there are tip jars everywhere. I would not return.

We have owned a timeshare with El Cid for over 20 years and the location in Puerto Morelos is our favorite. We usually spend about two months there from early February til early April. We find the weather to be perfect for a timely getaway from the end of winter back home in northern Indiana.

Alberto, our Platinum butler in building 15 gave superior service. He was very friendly, attentive, and always smiling. His excellent English language skills facilitated clear communication. I hope that he is available for our next visit.
