Good, not great
Heidi Z on Mar 23, 2024
Lovely overall grounds - clean and safe. Beach is okay, not great. Staff seems generally unhappy, lacking the usual Mexican hospitality we are used to. Wildlife is amazing - lots of wild monkeys. Pools were lovely, food was decent. Annoying that they have removed the reservation system for dinner. Makes the experience much less relaxing. The Plaza has great energy at night and the entertainment is engaging. The adult pool is quieter so request buildings 19 or 20 if you are not traveling without kids. Music at the pool is very loud. The infinity pool by the ocean is supposedly adult only, but it is not enforced, so it is definitely a family zone. Kids everywhere. Most disappointing thing is that there is no food service at the pool or beach. They will take drink orders, but you have to physically go to a restaurant for all meals. Again, this makes it much less relaxing. We also used the online menus, but they were not up to date, especially at the bars, you couldn’t order drinks that they said were available. Can’t go wrong with Mexico, weather is awesome, but The Fives needs to step it up to keep up to other resorts like Vidanta. Likely will not return.
Perfect getaway for a family with small kiddos! Highly recommend!

We traveled here with our 2 kids, age 3 and 6 and we had an amazing trip! The accommodations were perfect, beds very comfy, unit clean and housekeeping daily with restocked bottled water and refilled fridge. We had two balconies off our main living area. All units have a pool next to the building which is perfect with kiddos! Bring sound machines if hoping for naps as the pools can be noisy but otherwise it’s worth it! They allow floats and bars are basically at every pool. Golf carts shuttle you around resort and are easy and fast to catch one. We spent every day at the main pool alternating between the pool and the beach. They have several casual food options right by the pool/beach making lunch convenient and they aren’t strict about you bringing the food to the pool or beach. They have a burger grill right at the beach for easy lunch options and another place with a taco bar or wood fired pizzas right on a sandy outdoor area by the pool. We did breakfast either room service or buffet and buffet had amazing options for the whole family - they also have breakfast tacos every morning in the main plaza outside. We had great luck at every restaurant except the Thai place as they were always on a long wait and the Italian had no reservations available (only restaurant that requires reservations) - would not recommend the brassiere for dinner but otherwise every other restaurant was amazing. Must try sea olive! We got to each restaurant by 6 and either sat right away or waited 45 min. Entertainment options every night and fun for the kids. Our check in did not include much information about the resort so make sure you ask for a full run down of the need to knows before you are off to your room. Every single person that works there is so kind and helpful! The grounds are impeccable and clean. Fun wildlife to see everyday - monkeys were a whole show! We can’t wait to come back!
Wowed my senses

Stay: March 2024 ,6 nights as a family of 4. Kids are 5 and 8. As a hospitality professional, I can't just stay at a hotel. I generally notice and critique everything especially in the first couple of days until I sink in and relax. This all-inclusive resort is top-notch. So much so that the small things that were nuisances didn't matter and we can't wait to stay again. Here are my notes. Customer service: professional, inviting, attentive, caring and warm. It is noticeable that they are trained well to go the extra mile. Rooms: We had a very nice room with a king and pull out sofa. Housekeeping was amazing, and the room's overall condition was great. Be advised, the pullout wasn't comfortable. They replenish water each day and mini-bar items. Food: Really good. Plenty of offerings to satisfy everyone. The default is always the main dining buffet area. Get to restaurant dining early if you have young children. The breakfast tacos outside the dining hall, made from scratch, are not to be missed, as well as the taco bar by the pool. A note about food allergies: The staff is well trained to take allergies seriously. With every meal they ask about allergies. I was well guided in navigating the Flavours (the main dining hall / buffet) for my son's peanut and sesame allergy, and my gluten allergy. We knew exactly what we could eat and what to avoid. They also made me a special g-free pasta one night. Every spot was very accommodating throughout our stay. Our favorite restaurant was the Thai food spot. Pools: So many! Relaxing pools, party pools, kid-friendly, and they do allow floaties. I loved that the main pool by the beach didn't always have party music. It was a happy medium all week. We didn't feel the need to save chairs but some people do. We just moved around a lot with our kids. You can rent personal cabanas. Drinks: Good, easy to get at each outdoor bar. Kids club: They have one but we didn't utilize it. Looks like the kids were having fun though if you do drop them off. Their programming is online. We watched the Disney show one night which was fun, and joined an afternoon ice cream party. Safety: The impression we got was that safety is a priority. The hotel seems tucked away a bit, and the beach wasn't overcrowded with vendors. Beach: Clean and quaint but enough for beach play and walking. The plastic that washes up is horribly sad but we did our part to pick up what we could each day. Not the hotel's problem but a human problem. Staff cleans seaweed from the ocean each day. Our family liked the sea bags that broke the waves and captured seaweed. I was able to safely walk and meditate on the beach in the morning. Activities: Bball courts, giant chess and giant checkers, tennis/pickle ball Cash: Bring cash or do an exchange at the airport. The resort cash machine wasn't working when were there and the local 7/11 didn't have one. Grounds: walkable and not too big going from place to place, it's clean, tons of beautiful vegetation. The jungle walk area is neat with the animals. Didn't like the designated smoking spot being in the middle of resort. Seems this should be better tucked away. Designated spots for golf-cart shuttles that can take you around. Hotel volume: quiet at night for us. Any programming they have wraps by 10pm. Overall, we can't wait to go back. Thank you Fives staff for a great stay! We know how hard you work!
Wonderful holiday

We could not fault a thing at the hotel. Excellent service from start to finish from all staff, everyone was so helpful and accomodating. Our guest ambassadors Fernando and Julio were especially brilliant and really made our stay special. Food was fantastic, we really enjoyed the poolside BBQs and the wide range of drinks. Would 100% return to the Fives Beachfront!
Nice accommodation but eating in restaurants was difficult ?????

The residence rooms are lovely and spacious, however, we felt we were staying at residential accommodation rather than a hotel. There is a selection of pools to use as well as the beach. The weekend on the beach gets very busy with the locals as it’s probably the best spot for swimming. Our biggest disappointment with this resort was the eating arrangements. We booked this resort because it offered a choice of 10 restaurants. If you are an owner you can make reservations, leaving limited times for anyone else to eat at a sensible time. Our ideal time to eat is between 1900-2000 but every time we went to a restaurant we were told there is nothing available until 2100 so we would have a 2 hour wait. We were able to book the Italian but only once a week. The restaurant situation certainly spoilt this part of our holiday and for that reason we wouldn’t come back????????????
