The resort is HUGE but beautiful. My family and I had to take golf carts everywhere until we learned our way around but it is quite a walk to get to most places. The workers are constantly cleaning and taking all precautions to keep everyone healthy. The rooms are pretty spacious which is nice. The workers on the beach try to clean up all the seaweed but there is still a lot that washes up on shore. The waves were pretty rough while I was there so we didn't play in the ocean. I am pretty picky but my family is not. We all thought the buffet food was gross. Dinner was all right but nothing amazing. Watch out while you are in the lazy river. My son cut his toe on a broken piece of pool tile while getting out. He cut off all the layers of his skin down to the muscle. It was an accident and the resort was great at helping us deal with it especially Laura. She stayed at the medical clinic with us and helped translate. But it did ruin the rest of our family vacation since my son couldn't walk on his foot or get it wet.

We had a wonderful trip. Wendy Poot was so helpful and made our trip even more enjoyable. The pools are great, entertainment was perfect and the beachfront massages topped it off. So happy! Steak house was our favorite. Buffets are good and beach snacks served perfectly.

My family and I spent 5 days at this amazing resort and I have to say that we felt safer there. The staff take so many precautions, everything is very clean. All of them are very happy. I had a lot of fun with the Star Friends, specially with Humberto, Giovani, Alex and Gabi. We loved the resort and the Bartenders are so nice, we loved all our stay.

Best entertainment we have ever had!!!

    Visiting Iberostar Maya/Lindo in July

I was very happy to hear that after many months of the closure some hotels started to operate. Knowing that I and my daughter decided to do very spontaneous trip ( organizing everything within 10 days) . We traveled from the JFK with JetBlue ( good flight , all wearing masks and JetBlue still blocking the middle sets). We knew Iberostar from our previous visits. initially we booked DelMar but shortly after, we realized that this part of the complex ( along with Beach hotel) is still closed. Not concerned at all as we knew that we will be placed in Lindo/ Maya ( where we also stayed before). I read that most open hotels in Riviera Maya ( not all opened at this time) required lower occupancy so for me ( for us) it was obvious that the complex needs to put all the people “closer” due to the operational needs . Doesn’t make sense , right , to put 50 people on DelMar, 50 people on Beach side, etc. We were there from 7/19-7/25. The only open lobby was in Maya, and this is probably why there are no reviews for Lindo. BUT, at this time it really didn’t. matter. I am guessing that people who booked “ lower” sections (DelMar/ Beach ) ended in Lindo and the people booking Lindo, perhaps ended in Maya. Under normal circumstances Maya had little extra perks but not now. Only difference is that buildings on Maya side have elevators but Lindo doesn’t. If you are going open minded and know that there are still occupancy restrictions, you should not be surprised that some restaurants ( especially these located in Del Mar/Beach) are closed. But there are still 4-5 a la carte that you can make reservation for dinners ( but the buffet is good as has everything for everyone). Because of Covid (restrictions) the beautiful swim bar is closed as well as jacuzzi in the big pool. This is to avoid crowds - I guess. No problem, as other bars are open and the hard working ladies walking back and forth near pools and on the beach taking orders for drinks. Limited restaurants comparing to the previous visits but still plenty options , including snacks near pool ( every day) , snacks, light dishes on the beach. Never were hungry! The Entertainment Team- excellent. On feet from early morning to the late evenings. Providing games, dances, exercises ( in pool areas and on beach) . Every night good shows in their theater. Music near pool and in the lobby provided daily. Kids Club ( not used - lol) excellent. We saw many kids in it really having fun! For those who want to consider the trip now- the water park and wave pool was closed ( there is construction going on and they will expand the water park building a long sliding tubes. Also the mall is closed as well The hotel staff follow guidelines for safety- all wearing masks, directing people in dining areas, adjusting sitting arrangements in the theater, etc. We had a beautiful weather and the water was crystal clear, almost no waves. We didn’t leave the resort this time but it looked that the people were taking some organized trips (like Xcaret). For us it was the trip to relax, and to forget ( even for few days) about stressful life home ( Covid, and other stuff). Thank you very much to all hard working people there! Our vacation was ( as always) too short but very relaxing, worries free!
