Excellent all-inclusive resort about one-half hour drive-time south of Cancun. I think it opened in 2017. Looks brand new! The Ventus sits adjacent to its sister resort Marina at El Cid. You may use facilities (restaurants , pools, etc.) at either resort. Except for dining at El Cid several times, we pretty much stayed at Ventus. Between the two resorts there are good restaurant choices. As others have mentioned, the beach got damaged by last years' tropical storms, which washed away quite a bit of sand. Plans are in the works to replace sand lost to the storms. Didn't bother us because we preferred hanging out at the pools and the hot tubs next to the Zan Za Bar at Ventus. Staff everywhere were extremely friendly and helpful.

Beaches are nonexistent and dirty, most places reserved for Platinum Members. Pools where overcrowded and drinks of poor quality. Food was OK but after a couple of days gets boring, not enough restaurants.

This policy of all inclusive that includes alcoholic drinks should change. There should be an option to exclude alcoholic drinks for a reduced price or to give current members meals and drinks free. Members already pay an annual fee on top of an expensive membership. For this reason we will not recommend friends and family to join. If they want to visit the resort it will be cheaper to go through a travel club offered by COSTCO or Direct Buy. We met only two couples who were actual members. Also El CID picked us up from the airport but no shuttle was available to take us to the airport. We were told the taxi would charge us $40 USD but they charged us $44 USD.
