We spent two weeks in a Key Superior room on Anthony's Key Resort in September. A friend really wanted to stay at this resort. We had previously been to Roatan twice before staying at Media Luna and Infinity bay. Before the trip i felt like this trip was a bit expensive. We had the buy one get one free deal. After having been to Anthony's Key i really see the value for the money. The package included three boat dives a day, two night dives a week, shore diving off the key, a trip to Maya Key, a fish ID talk, a buoyancy workshop plus three meals a day. The Room- the room was nicer than it looked on the website. Great sunset views and nice deck with tables and hammocks. The Food- the staff here are fantastic. Constantly filling glasses of water, ice tea and coffee. Breakfast included fruit, cereal, infused water and pastries. And as well a huge menu to chose from. I miss those breakfasts!!! Lunch and dinner included soup or salad, a main entree and dessert. Staying for two weeks we wondered if the second week would be a repeat but it was different except for the surf and turf friday. The second week included a third vegetarian choice. The bread and buns were really good too. Dive operation- Nitrox was an extra charge of $115 a week. The first morning there was a nitrox orientation where they went over the procedure for checking the tanks. Also there was an orientation regarding the whole dive operation. Everyone gets a key to a dive locker. There is several tanks and showers. Dives include a couple if wreck dives at about 100 feet. The dive leaders and boat captain were awesome. The Buoyancy workshop was good. The instructor asked about issues that we were having personally. Very helpful. Snack shop and gift store- both nice stores with friendly staff. Clinic- the girl from the snack shop told us that the clinic had more selection of cold medicine. We ended up getting a cold. So went to the clinic and the pharmacist gave us some meds and charged it to our room. Spa- we had a couples massage at the spa since it was 50 percent all services while we were there. Highly recommended. The staff- from the dining room staff to the dive shop to the housekeeping staff to the water taxi guys, everyone was amazing and friendly. Its this part that will ensure that we return. Most staff has been with AKR many years. The owner is very friendly and stopped at our table to make sure we were happy. The second week he stopped by and asked how his Canadians were. My husband i were taking a picture of the huge tree by the dining room bathroom and a man started telling us about the tree. He told us he was the owners son and the general manager. Its clear how proud they are of their resort and its 50 year history and they really want you to have a good time. The stairs to the dining room might be problematic for anyone with mobility issues. We personally didn't find it an issue.

I have broken my review into 2 pieces -- the resort and the diving because there is just so much to tell. We just came back from a 2 week stay. It was great. Unfortunately, it definitely is not for the handicapped. Everyone was super nice. We were met at the airport by Israel who is very well spoken. He instantly knew our names for the whole stay. Reception desk staff were always cheerful and quick to help. The dining room staff was friendly and very attentive. As the website shows, there are two types of rooms-hillside and island. The island rooms are a 2 minute boat ride from shore. The rooms on the sea side of the island are bit of a walk from the dock. The pool and a bar are on the island as well as a small beach with kayaks and paddle boards. Dining is on the hillside of the resort. The hillside rooms are 74 stairs up. gives you the feeling your are in the jungle tree tops. The dining room, bar, and office/reception are also at the top of the hill, so at the end of the day, you are short walk to your room (as opposed to going down stairs, getting a little boat ride, and then trekking to your room.) Dining room is open air. Beautiful views of the bay and gorgeous sunsets. Breakfast is your typical eggs, pancakes, French toast, etc with a couple local specialties. For lunch and dinner, there is always a choice of soup or salad and a choice of two entrees (one is usually fish). Food is tasteful, local flavoring, and portions adequate.

We just sent a week, which was too short, at AKR. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The accomodations were comfortable and clean, the over water bungalows are charming we had a magnificent sunset view. The Staff was first rate in every department. The Diving was awesome, each boat was grouped with people of comparable experience. The food was very good with choices for every taste and dietary preference at every meal...the even custom made me chocolate milk at breakfast . All in all this was one of the nicest vacations we have ever had, we will return.

Wonderful way to overdose on snorkeling!

Spent a week here May 2019 with express purpose of snorkeling several times a day, and had a fantastic time. The room was comfortable and had a great porch and view. Be prepared to work a little at relaxing - must take a small dingy (runs 24/7) between the rooms on the small mini-island to the "mainland" of Anthony's Key for meals and for catching the dive/snorkel boats. Plus climb 50+ stairs to the dining room. But was worth it. Would definitely do again.

This was an awesome experience for my family. The food was great, the Dive Master we had was just great in helping us to relax and to enjoy the diving experiences we had. The people of the Anthony's Key Resort are great, the food servers went above and beyond to meet our needs, the cleaning personal and the staff in general were awesome people to work with. We also took a side trip to the Canopy to ride the Zip line, got to see the Zoo and mingle with the monkeys. Maya Key was a great experience as well to enjoy and see the different sites offered there to us as visitors.
