Business Trip

Stayed for a business conference. Was in tower 2. Room was clean. Just average, nothing special. Bed was okay, pillows were bad. From my understanding each tower is different, so you may have a different experience based on which tower you’re in.
Outstanding service!

Booked a Skyline View Balcony for my bday and was thrilled w/my choice! They accommodated my request for a microwave & bathrobes. Both interactions at Front Desk were outstanding (Thank u NICK & JOJO for making my stay SO GREAT) I'll be back!
Watch out for the corporate scam at check in.

So, at check in - you get informed that "your room" (i.e. the category and more importantly, the price you booked) is "sold out". BUT, they can give you a room for "Only" and additional $60 something a night. When you stand your ground and insist on speaking with the Manager... The front desk staff goes into a back room, then comes out and "miraculously" finds a room in the category you booked and the price you booked it! This was so comical, it has to be a policy to upsell rooms and gouge Guests. I might not be surprised in some Third World Hotel.. but this in a Hilton! Although, that being said, Union Square's about as Third World as you can get these days... so It might be understandable.
Nice room but everything else was EXPENSIVE with a capital E.

The room was nice (no views) they wanted 60.00 to upgrade to a city view. 2 beers at the lobby bar was 30.00, Breakfast at the small buffet is close to 60.00 after add on fees. A cub of coffee and parfait (Yoghurt) was 19.00. Take lots of extra money if you plan on using any of the hotel food or drinking places.
Good location with great amenities.

When I saw the line to check-in, I was intimidated but it went by quickly and the front desk staff was incredibly friendly. The convenience/breakfast place in the lobby was great and satisfies any craving you may have at any time. Elevators were responsive and I rarely had to wait more than a minute or two for an elevator to my room. The room was large and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The shower had good water pressure and an appropriate temperature. Wifi worked well, with no problems. There are a number of decent restaurants within walking distance of hotel. I was here for a conference so I wouldn't have picked this hotel otherwise but it was excellent for its purpose.
