2nd stay. Hotel is great. Found sheets very rough, like the sheet on the doc exam table. Don't like that there is not fitted bottom sheet. Had to keep fixing it. Very nice motel, staff is great, very clean. Beautiful view from balcony, but ever growing Vancouver is starting to take over view. City life. Surrounded by interesting restaurants and shops.

I will start off by saying we are gold members of the Marriot rewards program.. When my husband booked our stay, he informed the lady that we were in town for our anniversary and asked if they did anything special. She replied yes, happy anniversary and what not. She said she would have something special done for us during our stay. When we arrived we checked in (man at the desk during that time was plesant but hurried us along quickly. We parked our car underground in the Marriot parking, which had broken glass, EVERYWHERE! We got up to our room and quickly realized it was not the same layout as whats posted on their website for king habourview room. All the furniture was along the window wall, blocking the view. I moved a couple things around so we could sit at and see out the window. When i picked up the floor lamp to move it. The whole base of it completely crumbled into a million little dusty pieces. (There was a concrete type base under the chrome top).. cleaned that up as best i could, all the while being frustrated that im having to clean up our room on our anniversary. There was no water in our room, nothing that stated anything about the hotel amenities hours, no info on whats close by as far as restaurants, entertainment. nothing that said what channel the guide was on or how to oparate anything. ( 90% of the channels ended up skipping and had such bad reception we couldn't even watch what was on) We deiced it was time for a drink. There were no glasses in our room so we called to have some brought up. 45 minutes later and still nothing. We went down to the desk to get our glasses and the man seemed rather bothered that we came down for the glasses. Pool & hottub were good but bathroom was closed, meaning you have to go back to your room to use the washroom mid swim. Also, we spent the entire stay waiting for our "special anniversary treat" the lady mentioned, and nothing ... Overall i was incredibly disapointed with our anniversary stay at the Marriot Pinnacle Vancouver & likely will NOT reccomend.

The pros: Nice city view - if you like that. Buildings, offices, lights, streets... Heating and cooling system works great - very effective. Front desk service was very helpful and very nice, both at check in and when i called down with questions. Location - It's close to a lot of great things in the middle of downtown, and you can walk to the water, or to the financial district, or to the mall, very easily. The cons: Weight Scale in the bathroom does not work The decor feels very outdated to me, and has a lot of dark red everywhere. Red chairs, red in the carpet, dark furniture... The Robe hanging in the closet was so old it was pilling. No mini fridge I believe this hotel is old and Needs Renovations to be updated There was a disposable Take out container lid on floor under side table - housekeeping missed this Overall, this is a very average hotel in downtown Vancouver. I personally would not recommend it as a high end hotel, or as somewhere super nice to stay for a special occasion. There are much nicer places around. There's nothing wrong with it really; it's just not somewhere I would choose.

I tried # properties in the Lower Maninland during an extended 12 night stay. This was by far the best: - the restaurant is open (many are not); - the pool and fitness area are open (again, many are not); - the location is ideal (walking distance to Stanley Park, Vancouver Harbour flights,, Waterfront); - the staff are excellent. I found the absence of HK services difficult to get used to. The answer? I called for room service & changed rooms 1/2 way through my stay!

Weird Times with Covid Restrictions but an Excellent Stay, Once Again

I am doing this 2nd review because of the different circumstances from my first time stay in March 2020. My wife and I did a two night stay in Vancouver because, as we all know travel restrictions have shrunk our travel world. We live in Langley, BC, so this is a short city getaway. When we came in March, it was just ahead of all the restrictions coming into effect. So the restaurants were open, the Concierge Lounge was open, door men and valet available. This time, no door men, valet, Concierge Lounge, and face masks were required in all public places. The Restaurant had just opened for breakfasts only a couple of weeks earlier. Very sad to see all this happening in the Tourism Business. Vancouver is typically, in the height of the Tourist season, now, with Cruise Ships, Conventions, Tourists, etc. The City now feels like Ghost Town. Very little car traffic, little walking traffic, restaurants closed or very limited hours, with specific rules about seating and staff wearing masks. Regardless, all this, we all need to re-invent our travel selves, for these current times. Our stay was excellent! Luke, who checked us in, was wonderful with his assistance. Our room on the 31st floor, with a harbour view was spectacular! No room cleaning services but you can request all your needs, such as towels etc, as you need them. For two nights we managed just fine, as we typically, are neat and tidy people. As Platinum members we were able to have our breakfast in the Restaurant. Sad seeing how not busy it is because of all this pandemic. More sad because so many people either don't have a job or hours are severely cut back. The two young people looking after us in the Restaurant were Leah and Rajib. They were wonderful with their cheerfulness, and Customer Service despite the effects of all this affecting them. Just want to say that I now tip a little more for the Service Industry people, because I know their wages are greatly affected. So if you are traveling and able to be extra generous, these people will be much more appreciative. Prior to our arrival, I called ahead, and spoke with Greg, one time, and then Carlos, another. Both were excellent with their assistance and Customer Service, over the phone. I spoke with Peter, a couple of times, during our short stay, for different questions and assistance. He was also excellent. Overall, a great stay despite the unusual times. I will be happy to return, again, for a short mini vacation, to Vancouver. Just as a heads up, The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle can become confused with the Harbourfront Pinnacle, just across the street, It used to be a Holiday Inn, once upon a time. The ratings for this hotel seem concerning to me. Just be careful when you book, that you are, indeed, booking the Marriott Pinnacle. Two different Hotels!
