What you need to check in

All guests checking in require the following information: 

  • Reservation code (6 characters) or ticket number (13 digits)
  • Your full name and date of birth as written on your government-issued ID
  • For all travel to the USA: Passport or NEXUS information, plus hotel name, destination address, cruise or transit airline
  • For all travel outside of Canada: Passport information, and if applicable, Visa or PR card 

How can I add checked bags to my upcoming flight?

Guests are encouraged to prepay for their first and second checked bags online or through Manage Trips. Bags can also be checked with an agent at the airport for an additional $10.


Check-in and boarding times

Timing below is shown in minutes before scheduled flight departure and applies to all check-in options. 

Guests who arrive after the boarding gate cut-off time will be refused transport on that flight. Guests may be eligible for a same-day change under certain conditions.

* Baggage will be accepted up to three hours before the scheduled time of flight departure at most locations. Checked baggage is accepted until the check-in cut-off time.

** International check-in cut-off time is 60 minutes before estimated time of departure at most airports, but 75 minutes at Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), Toronto (YYZ), and Vancouver (YVR). 

*** Boarding Gate cut-off time on Boeing 787 aircraft is 15 minutes.

For flights departing out of Canadian airports, check security wait times to make sure you have enough time at the airport to get to your gate before your flight boards.  


Airport kiosks

Once you have checked in online, scan your boarding pass at an airport kiosk to print bag tags and scan any required travel documents (e.g. passports, NEXUS, visas, or PR card).
