We absolutely loved our week here and each day brought something new. From the moment we arrived we felt like we fitted right into place. Our room had already been allocated so despite the fact that we arrived at about 09:00 both us and the luggage were in our room within a few minutes. There was a spacious bathroom with whirlpool bath and over bath shower, wc, twin basins, hairdryer and plenty of towels. This complimented with decent lighting and mirrors. Our room was equally spacious, set out into 5 distinctive areas for sleeping, food prep, eating, sitting about and sitting about al fresco. The balcony was huge, quite private and in amongst the tree tops so there were plenty of colourful birds, some reptiles and a few amphibians which fed on the numerous canopy flowers. I believe that everybody had some kind of sea view and ours was perfect for watching the diving pelicans halfway between the Main and Rasta beaches (Room 223). Everywhere was clean and stayed very clean while we were there. Breakfast was pretty much standard issue but there were different sausages every day which was nice and the bacon wasn't charred. Nice omelettes too. Might be worth mentioning the array of fruit, juice, cereals and cake looking things in case anyone might be interested. Lunch menu at the Beach restaurant was pleasant and varied and one could also use the Main for an even wider range of dishes. There was also a food place at the Rasta beach where the ham cheese and onion paninis were superb. Didn't have a burger. Evening meals were always nice wherever we ate. The level of excellent service was something many have tried but few do well consistently. The front line staff at The Verandah are cool under pressure, always deliver, deliver it well and look at ease doing what they do. This cascades down among the diners making mealtimes an exceptionally chilled out experience. Evening entertainment was a little bit same old but the open mic night was hilarious and the fire guy was awesome. There were few children while we were there at the end of September beginning of October but there were plenty of facilities and staff to keep the most active young mind occupied. For us the adult pool/bar area was perfect and had us right in the zone every time we were there. Actually, even thinking about it now, I still can't decide whether there or the Rasta beach was our favourite. Whichever you decide on there's a golf buggy just around the corner so it doesn't matter. If there is nothing else to like about The Verandah it's the bottled water situation. In the 7 days we were there we used just 2 plastic bottles. We had them new and filled but just refilled them from the tap and popped them in the fridge at bed time. The tap water is filtered so it really is good to drink. If you take the rear exit out the resort where the building work is going on near the main beach, you are a 10 minute stroll from Devil's Bridge. Please wear trainers or some kind of enclosed and fastened foot ware if you are going there and be extremely cautious if you think that you can cross the bridge. If you get it wrong it will be the last time that you do. That said if you don't appreciate the power of an Atlantic wave I urge you to go there, it's breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking.

When I entered the room, the very atmosphere was welcoming. It was a refreshing change to a number of hotels I have visited over the last few years. Every thing I needed for my stay was provided. From check in, through to dining experience, entertainment, bar area, water sports, enjoyable from start to finish. I definitely recommend this hotel for a vacation. A home away from home, a place to totally relax and be pampered. A place where you feel safe and comfortable. Fantastic.

    Some good but some poor

So this will be honest review as it was not all bad, but for a resort that claims to be 4 stars I would only rate it as a 3 and a 2 when it came to customer service. When we arrived at the site after a 9 hour flight me my husband and my daughter ( who was getting married on the resort ). Her partner and young son were told rudely that we could not check in till we handed over a credit card so they could take a £300 deposit for each apartment when my daughter said they had not brought her credit card she was told rudely and loudly that she and the rest of us would have to be removed from the resort which resulted in her having a full breakdown in reception, my husband managed to sort this issue and they did not need credit card just a debit card but no apologies nothing (DISGUSTING) . Their is also building work going on on the main beach which is very noises at time as their can be three or four diggers and a couple of jack hammers going all at once soooooo not relaxing which is a shame as it could of been beautiful this work is due to finish end of November beginning of December. Buggies do not turn u to pick u up as the resort is very hilly and as I had had several heart attacks last year and my husband has arthritis in his knees we found this a struggle we did make several complaints while on resort but nothing was said or dealt with . The wedding co ordinator Paula was not qualified for the job at all she did not do the things she promised the bar shut before it was ment to as the ceremony finished at 4.45 but photos were being took but our guest could not get drinks which resulted in a few of the children becoming very dehydrated and they had to fly home a couple of days early as they were still so poorly . Buggies were not arranged properly to take guests to the restaurant for the wedding dinner , my daughter had to cut her cake with a knife and fork for photos lol as Paula forgot to get the proper knife the manager was lovely at the bar and grill and did manage to sort this and the bottle of champagne for the toast was never received. The rooms are lovely and the view is also beautiful the food was of good quality but a little to English/American would of been nice to of had some carribean food .over all I would not say the resort was bad but we were all just soooooooo disappointed which the treatment toward us as the resort has great potential. But for now I would not go again .

    Fantastic!

Just had the most amazing stay here with our 6 month old daughter. Staff were outstanding and the resort was exactly what we wanted. They go above and beyond to make your stay exactly what you want. Food was great and served throughout the day. Rooms were clean and the buggies that take you around the resort are fun. Wouldn’t hesitate to come here again!
