We were at the beginning of July 6 people, me, my wife, three daughters of 13,14,16 years respectively and my mother-in-law. For this reason we decided to stay at the Great PAlladium, because in the TRS we could not for the girls and the family selection part was not useful for the ages of them. The hotel is very beautiful and spacious, the concept is excellent, the rooms, bars, all night activities, the musical group, theater, restaurants, pool area, the Chic Cabaret for me is the best of the hotel, it is worth paying to see the show, the best style of Las Vegas, and the restaurant Italian very good. The part that I am going to criticize and I hope that hotel managers take it into account, is when it comes to booking restaurants for dinner, the way they do it for me is unacceptable and I do not find any sense. I explain, if you are in the TRS you can make reservations for all the restaurants, something that seems good to me if you are in the family selection part of the GP but if you are not in either of these, then you can not book, you will arrive at the restaurant , they write you down on a list and prepare to wait between 1 hour and 1:30 so you can sit down for dinner, that's ridiculous, I've been to many hotels in Cancun and I've never seen anything like it, the only restaurant that did not happen to me this was in the Italian, I do not know if they are organized better or not, but in all the rest the wait is horrible.

We had a great vacation family experience. All the staff was very friendly and kind. Special thanks for outstanding jobs to Sixto (bartender @ Poseidon), Claudia (waitress @Piacere Cafe), Oscar (manager @ El Dorado) Erika (hostess @ Portofino) and Galilea (manager @ Portofino). We really enjoyed the week we spend at the hotel!!! Keep up the great job!!!

Almost perfect - very happy kids! (Ridiculous spa pricing)

We came for two weeks as a family of four, plus two adult friends. We chose the place ostensibly because it seemed to offer plenty to occupy our 3 and 4 year old kids - it didn’t disappoint! First up we paid to be in the ‘Family Selection’ part of the resort. Just a single building, but the little extra perks we got as a result we’re impressive. For a start, as soon as we arrived at the FS reception, our kids were whisked off to the adjacent mini-club and were quite happy being entertained while we did all the checking in stuff you have to do. On top of that they were presented with backpacks containing sunglasses, kid-friendly bath stuff, a foam squirter gun for the pools and baseball caps. All of this was branded with the phrase ‘Family Boss’. So apt! Family selection also gave us free access to the ‘Chic Cabaret’, normally $100 usd per person. And it’s fantastic! Saved to the end of your stay it sends you home on a high. Another good perk of FS is adult access to the restaurants in TRS (the adults only section of the resort). Our favourite restaurant was there, El Gaucho. 1kg steak? Uhhh yes please! Also have us access to the french restaurant in TRS, La Boheme, but we really didn’t like the food or quality in there as it was poorly designed and prepared badly. Our friends liked it the first time they went in, but found it wasn't half as good on their second visit. The staff tend to make or break a place like this and we found that generally speaking the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay as great as they could. They were great with the kids too, even out of 'kids club' areas. The resort is pretty big and this made it possible for us to try out different areas each day, sometimes at the 'splash pool', sometimes the main one, sometimes at FS etc. Some days were spent at the beach, which was well cared for with plenty of parasols for shade over the sun beds. The beach is partitioned up with specific areas for Family Selection, TRS and everyone else. FS had a dedicated beach host who sorted out beds etc. for us and there were beach waiters around fetching drinks - spoiling us! There has been lots in the press about seaweed in Mexico messing the place up and in some places creating a bad pong. Here we found some green seaweed, but nothing too excessive - the staff said that Isla Mujeres, just off the coast from us, did a good job of creating a barrier to divert the bad seaweed away. Also, we saw tractors going up and down the beach raking each morning, which made for nice sand. Other points we discovered. The Spa is lovely and in Family Selection you get free access to use the hydrotherapy pool (wow), steam, sauna, salt and snow rooms. Yes, the snow room was a new one on me - basically a freezer that I never saw anyone venturing near! Up on the roof there is a great 'healthy' bar with great juices and snacks, with yet another pool to lounge in. Spa treatments were another matter - most expensive we have encountered in all our travels. There were some guys going round the grounds trying to sell treatments to guests, who you could haggle with - for example we were offered a full body massage (50 mins) for $220, which eventually dropped to $70 (using his special secret, only available if you booked then and there through him, discount). This is no way to do business. Set a reasonable price for your treatments and stick to them. If you need to make a price more attractive, put some packages together. I would certainly recommend this resort over others for the food quality, room sizes and amenities. Hopefully they'll get on top of site maintenance quickly and that will make it just right.

This new hotel and resort is absolutely beautiful and every minute there was amazing ! Their staff and Pop entertainers throughout the whole day was fantastic. They had things such as salsa classes by the pool, aqua aerobics by Roger, ping pong, cocktail lessons, bracelet making, and a really fun foam party ! For the nighttime we spent most of the time at their village which had multitudinous amount of amazing restaurants and live band entertainment and different themed shows! Overall this was an amazing escape to Cancun for a great relaxing time for the summer, thank you to everyone who made this experience fantastic

Well where do I start with this resort. Has to be my worst experience at a so called 5 star resort which it clearly is not. Please don't bring your family here if you want a good trip, rude staff, tons of people getting sick off the food, and horrible service. I will document below. Day 1 Pulled up to the Hotel at night wow what a beautiful place. We were greeted at the front desk in a very non welcoming manner. Which is fine whatever get up to the room which is set to 25 degrees celcius. So that's a plus lol. Turn the measley air conditioning on. There is a foul stench in the room like mold/mildew. Hair in the bathtub and streaks all over the mirrors and windows. We go to the buffet for dinner cause all the restaurants are packed. Wow what a disorganized zoo. All the food is cold and garbage sitting out everywhere behind the buffet. Gotta love their food handling standards here. DAY 2 Morning breakfast is only available in two troughs one is the Isla Blanca and one is Posedion both are equally as bad. If you don't mind the 200 Spanish Kids picking their nose and touching all the food then this is your place. Service is equally as bad even if you tip good up front. Make sure you are down by the pool or beach by 10 am or you won't get a spot. Drink service at the main pool has two waiter for 300 people so you can be sure when you get your drink it is pool water warm. Went for a nice dinner at El Dorado very satisfied. I must say service at the a la carte restaurants are good. Night time activities are decent. Room still won't get cold but whatever. Room service never cleaned the room and we had been out all day. DAY 3 THIS IS THE BEST DAY. After going to the trough for breakfast again. We got an awesome spot by the pool. Had a couple drinks and decided to go to Posiden for lunch. Had them grill up some fish and chicken for me yum soo good (wait to later). Go back to room for a nap at 4 pm room still not cleaned oh well guess they were busy. Wake up at 7pm stomach is a bit sore but maybe it was some different spices they used. Go to dinner no drinks have a very bland meal. Go back to room because I'm increasingly not feeling well. Wake up at 11 pm with shooting pains in my stomach barely make it to the toilet. Explosive diarrhea and vomiting. This continued all night. I have had food poisoning before but this was different. DAY 4 After being up most of the night my wife went down to get me some Pepto Bismol and Immodium 600 pesos later lol. She tried to get some more water as they only give you two bottles in your room per day. The front desk said you have to get room service to bring water to your room. Just another tip grab if you ask me. Now I have been in the room all day waiting this water it finally shows up 2 hours later. They bring us 2 bottles. Wow. Sickness continues all day DAY 5 Finally have enough strength to get up and go eat some plain rice. I ask the front desk if I can finally have the room cleaned as it has been 4 days since we are here and no one has come. We wait in the lobby for an hour while it is cleaned. While we are their we run into some fellow Canadians who are having the same issues as us. Their two sons were sick as well from eating the BBQ they have down by the beach pool. They are equally unimpressed with this resort. Meat sitting out all day with no refrigeration and Mayo Cheese out in the hot sun. We were intrigued so we went down to the BBQ and saw raw meat sitting out in the sun waiting to get grilled. Wow. Sickness still continues but now is a bit more manageable. DAY 6 Now that my anger for this resort is growing every English speaking family we start chatting about their experiences here. They are all the same sub standard service, issues with food and stomach. This is starting to not be a coincidence. We decide to go out for dinner and cannot get in anywhere at 8pm all the restaurants are telling us it's a 50 min wait and we might not even get a table before they close. So back to the buffet from Hell. DAY 7 Last day thank God. After a night of being sick again and still in the morning. My wife goes down to see what time check out is and its noon. She explains her husband is sick and not able to leave the room. Our flight is at 5pm. They say we have to be out of the room at 1pm. She explains that I'm too sick to get out of the room and that we need to stay longer as I need to be by a toilet. This does not concern them. Gotta love that Mexican Hospitality. As we sit here in the lobby I am currently talking to everyone that I can and tell them the truth about this place just to make sure people don't make the same mistake we did. I have talked to our travel and he will not be recommending this resort. I will be setting up a page with videos of their practices and failures so you can see. Also mold on the ceiling everywhere Please don't think this is a 5 star resort. You are far better off at Dreams or Secrets resorts are usually where we stay but this place looked nice in photos but remember you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.
