Beautiful building from the outside and lovely finishings inside. Staff made check in quick and easy and allowed us into our room hours early so it was nice to freshen up before heading out for the day. Fuse had gone in our room and the manager was up within a minute to sort it for us - all the staff were so helpful and considerate. My friend and I both agreed the bed was the comfiest bed we've ever slept in - didn't want to leave it! Room lovely and clean, great views of the hills and had everything we needed. Ate in the restaurant, the daily menu was great, portions were massive - especially chicken wings - so filling and not overpriced! We're already talking about coming to stay again once the world's gone back to normal - great stay! Also, transport links were fab, bus stop to town & airport right outside!

This hotel and the staff are amazing. We booked last min as our trip to Rome was cancelled. The hotel website was extremely informative and we knew exactly which bus we needed to get to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 10am, explained that we had been up since midnight and the staff checked us in early so I could rest. (I have fibromyalgia). After a couple of hours we decided to go out in to Dublin. A quick chat at reception and we knew all about the public transport and how to purchase a leap card - thank you. Once back at the hotel we went and had dinner in the bar. Chef special of pork loin. It was beautifully cooked and I would highly recommend it. Graeme and Rhys were attentive without being overwhelming. That night we slept so well that we completely missed breakfast. The rooms were comfortable, clean, each to turn the heat up on the radiator (as found in the handbook). The second night we went for dinner in the bar again as we were so impressed from the first night. Again we were not disappointed. Rhys remembered us and came and had a little chat with us without being intrusive. I had the braised beef and my partner had the fish curry. Both items were flavoursome and worth every penny. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide range of choice. The hotel staff were very informative with the coronavirus updates and were happy to answer any of our concerns. They were happy to look after our luggage after check out before we needed to get to the airport - thank you. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. We will be back once all the restrictions are lifted - hopefully to see the rugby. Thank you once again to all the staff.

Myself and my partner stayed at the clayton for 2 nights and i must admit everything was fantastic the hotel alowed us to check in early which meant my patner could lay down a little after our flight all the staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for our trip During our first night all ireland went into lockdown but this did not stop the staff being fantastic and the service was exceptional The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable All the staff were amazing and friendly especially graham and rhys who took time to speak to us about our trip and very informative about the lockdown Could not recommend the hotel enough and we will definitely return

We arrived on a midweek deal and were impressed by the hotel. Lovely grounds, quiet rooms and easy to access bus transport in to the city. The dart train service is only a short walk away at lansdowne road/ Aviva stadium. It is slightly out of the city in the embassy district. The bar dining room is in the basement which is actually quite light and spacious. The breakfast was a full range of what most people would require. The aircoach from the airport drops you off and picks you up right in front of the hotel. Very happy to stay again in the future.

Room freezing, phoned reception, no solution, each and every one of the 3 nights room was freezing Broadband miserable, had to get maintenance to get it to work, when the rebooted the router in the hallway it worked on day 1, but slooooow thereafter Only 2 elevators in the hotel, one broken, not fixed, I’m on 6th floor, way way faster to walk the stairs as I learned the hard way Food expensive, portions small, alcohol (the little we had) over priced I had several colleagues with me, none of us will stay again, which is a pity as we are in Dublin regularly. The only reason we stayed here was because the Tara was full, so we tried this hotel, but rest assured we will not be coming back.... Message to staff, Bismal, truly !
