Highly recommend this place!!! What a great place to spend with your friends and family. Very family oriented with pool and activities! We had a lot of fun playing basketball with the kids and enjoyed the pool. We spent most of our time at the beach and we were so impressed with the service. Elizabeth was truly amazing and helped us figure out what kind of drinks we wanted. Her recommendations were fabulous! By far the best Pina Colada I’ve had in a long time. We will for sure be coming back sometime soon!

Great Location for Pre or Post Cruise stay

We stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel and Spa twice in December for two nights prior to a cruise and then one-night post-cruise. We stayed in both an intercostal view and an ocean view room. The intercostal room was standard and noisy due to fans on structures nearby. The Oceanview room was very nice, slightly larger and the only real noise was the wonderful sound of the surf. The pluses: -- The resort is right on the beach, has and a large pool, and some good restaurants. The bell and wait staff were outstanding and did a good job attending to our needs. -- We got a few hours on a rental bike (included with the resort fee) which we used to visit the nearby Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Worth a quick trip. -- During our stay, there were a number of improvements in progress including a fitness center renovation, and improvements to facilities on the beach which will enhance the resort experience. -- For those going on a cruise, a taxi from the Marriott costs between $13 and $25 to get to the cruise port. The minuses: -- The Hotel is expensive and adds a resort fee. -- The Marriott is very busy and during one stay there were two conferences and multiple weddings going on concurrently. The lobby and areas near the beach were very busy and noisy. -- The Front Desk staff was not always helpful but maybe this was because they were very busy -- The Spa costs extra and during our visit, the steam room and dry sauna were broken. It was occasionally hard to find spa staff to assist, and the spa pool and jacuzzi close when it gets dark limiting its usefulness.

My wife and I just completed our 5-night stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. It was an absolutely wonderful experience! The entire hotel staff was exceedingly gracious and helpful. The pool staff was outstanding as well. We ate at three of the restaurants......Sea Level, 3030 Ocean, and Riva.......all were fantastic! We must, however, highlight one specific individual......her name is Rosa. Rosa was our server every morning for breakfast at the Riva restaurant. She was such a welcoming, inviting, and helpful person.......and an absolutely incredible ambassador for the Marriott brand. In more than 35 years of staying at many, many Marriott properties around the world, Rosa is one of the most outstanding and memorable Marriott employees I have ever had the chance to meet. We'll certainly look forward to returning to this property again next year!!

Lipstick on a .......... Place needs a major overhaul. Rooms are dated. Way dated. Bathrooms have been renovated. Hallways are dark and dingy. No bellman to help luggage. Front desk was very nice and helpful and recognized my Ambassador status but didn't offer me anything in the way of a room upgrade or the like. Breakfast was nice with really good service. No club room. Pool was packed. No service. Beach was worse. Even the staff complained that they had only 3 people working the entire beach and 2 of those were new. 30 minutes for a drink. Dinner at the formal restaurant was good, not great. Slow service. Casual restaurant by the pool was the best service and food. Location is ok. Miami has the Boardwalk along the ocean. Fort Lauderdale has a sidewalk next to the road that gets very busy. Next time I will do the W or a nicer Marriott property. Pass on this property.
