Wow. Like all hotels these days, this place promotes its COVID protocols. Here’s a suggestion...how about actually implementing them? Great location. Nice rooms. But not clean and not sanitary. When I see items from prior guests laying on floor of room, I lose confidence in all “COVID safe” claims proclaimed on posters throughout the hotel.

Holiday Inn Express provides better service

As background, staying at the Westin has been kind of a bucket list anniversary stay for us because our son's name is Westin. However, for the price we paid per night, the service we received, and the quality of the room/facility did not rate nearly as well as a business trip at the Holiday Inn Express. For starters, the welcome at the reception desk was underwhelming. While staying, one of the elevators was down for an entire day so we had to take the stairs on multiple occasions to avoid a long line and a crowded elevator. There were very limited chairs around the pool with no bar service. We couldn't get a chair until nearly sundown. And when you went to the bar to order drinks, the staff was very overwhelmed and their service delivery was stressed and poor. Our room was also underwhelming. It was basic and lacked the items that make a room seem inviting and warm (i.e. no wall decor). It almost felt as if our room was a "temporary" room...in fact we had a temporary laminated room number taped over the old room number to the right of the door. Our room was right in front of the elevators which made for a noisy experience. Also, the hallways were open to the outside which made the painted concrete floors slippery during humid mornings. Because the hallways were open to the outside and concrete, the music from a wedding reception bounced off the walls and echoed into our room until 10:00 at night. Lastly, at 9:00 one morning, I stopped down at the front desk to request fresh towels be delivered to our room while we were out as well as schedule a room cleaning for the following day. However upon our return to the hotel at 7:00 that night and after a day at the beach, there were no fresh towels in our room. We called 3 times in a period of 90 minutes to inquire on status of the towels. I finally called a 4th time to cancel the order as we took showers and dried off with our dirty beach towels. For all of these reasons, we will not be staying at a Westin again and can now tell our son that it is not worth the money. As a follow-up, I did forward my comments to the Manager of Rooms Operations. She did reply to the email and offered a $100 credit and promised to share the feedback with the appropriate team leaders. I pray they can improve their service soon as the Westin should be an incredible treat for anyone who chooses to stay at a Westin hotel.

Overall this hotel was decent. Its location on the marina was nice and the guest service was good. The rooms were average, did enjoy the screened in patio. breakfast in the morning was a buffet on the weekend but very basic and nothing special. Ordered a variety of burgers, quesadilla, and fish sandwiches for lunch and they we pretty good but for the price, I've had better. The largest downfall to this hotel (It says its a resort but this is what would make me think otherwise). The main pool located at the main building is small and the pool deck is a joke. Ive never seen so little chairs even during covid. There was no where to sit. They say you can go to their other pool, however its a pool for the residents that live on premise of the hotels property. They have to golf cart you over, you have to bring your own towels from the other pool, there is no bar or food service. The secondary pool is way nicer than the main pool, but kinda a pain to drag all your stuff with kiddos over to another pool. if you want to walk its a 10 minute walk. This is one of the nicest in the area but I have definitely stayed at nicer properties.

We simply had an amazing experience at this hidden gem. On our trip, we had stayed at some exceptional places and thought it was impossible to be wowed by the next hotel. Well, this property did that. Our original intent was to use this place as a stopover, but we ended up extending the stay to 4 nights. We stay in hotels over 50 nights a year, and this property was just THAT great. We would like to give a special shout out to Anna at the front desk, and also one of the overnight staff (Lynn?). Sue at the restaurant was amazing and packed up our to go orders for breakfast every morning with a smile. The hotel is a bit out of the way and it is strange to have to go through a residential area to get to the resort. Also, there is no feasible way to avoid paying a $2 toll to get to Cape Coral from Fort Myers. But, the parking is FREE (management, please don't ever even consider adding a parking fee) and there is plentiful parking in the garage. The view from the rooms is gorgeous. we had a sweeping view of the river and marsh. The room was clean and fresh smelling and the balcony is perfect for eating or just relaxing. Clean. Clean. Clean property. Soundproofing was good (or either we just had quiet neighbors). I don't like interconnecting doors, which our room had, but didn't hear a peep. The resort offers a complementary water taxi to Fort Myers beach, but we didn't take advantage of this. If you don't mind a walk, about a mile away there is a boardwalk that lets you walk through a marsh. Be aware that the hotel does charge a $30 resort fee. I would prefer the hotel to bake this into the room rate, but this is unfortunately standard practice now, so it is what it is! The resort is dog friendly and does not charge any pet fees (which is also becoming rare) We were left with such a good impression that we will definitely plan a future trip just to return to this property. Thank you again! Management, please don't change a thing!

Omg this hotel is amazing. We booked it through our Marriott rewards system. It is beautiful. We can’t wait to come back. The view is spectacular as you look out over the marina and ocean. 3 restaurants were within walking distance.
