DON’T Waste your money

aayac727 on Apr 20, 2024

Go somewhere else. Staff was not helpful when I checked in and had to chase down someone to come and clean our room. Just a horrible experience overall. There was no hot water and I had to bathe my infant in cold water.. not very good at communicating.

Honolulu vacation

Joy J on Apr 19, 2024

I loved the dining amenities at this hotel. I also loved the fitness and pool area. I had a few issues with check in and also being able to access my room during my stay. That being said, the staff was incredible at helping me out. They’re very attentive! The hotel cleaning staff was amazing too! Overall great experience

Stay somewhere else

Mary142011 (Fort Myers, Florida) on Apr 19, 2024

There are a lot of hotels in Waikiki and you really shouldn't waste your time with this one. It looks nice from the outside and the staff is friendly, but that is just lipstick on a pig. Our room had no hand towels or wash cloths. The refrigerator was broken. The luggage rack was broken. The USB ports by the bed didn't work. Internet didn't work for the first day. They did fix these things, but this tells you the quality of the room and attention to detail. When housekeeping cleaned the room two days later, they took away the wash cloths that we had to specially request and didn't replace them. Don't even go to the 9th floor "sports deck". There were empty glasses and food containers, tennis and baseballs strewn everywhere, the batting cage (which was a great idea) looked inoperable - rusty, no instructions, etc. It looked like a ghost town. The hotel systems were "down" when we checked in, which made the check-in process long, but they managed to charge the resort fee on our credit card. We were supposed to get $25/night Resort Credit to eat/drink at certain establishments. Because the system was "down", we couldn't charge to the room. The hotel staff said to just bring a receipt to the front desk and they would credit the card used for the Resort Fee. Upon check-out, they were unable to provide us with a printed statement. They said they would email one to us, which never happened and the $75 Resort Credit ($25 x 3), never got credited back. There are so many other hotels - you can do better than this one.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

Ciara S on Apr 14, 2024

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! The Alohilani was the 3rd hotel I stayed in in Honolulu, and it was the worst! It's probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The best way to describe it would be that it's like an attractive person with no substance. The service is horrible. Nobody speaks to you, not folks outside who I assume are “greeters” or the gym and restaurant staff. The breakfast was so bad I forfeited my complimentary breakfast perk and went to another hotel for breakfast. The staff is clearly not trained in relationship management. The front desk was not friendly or helpful; it took 20 minutes for housekeeping to bring clean towels, the elevators broke down, and the fire-department had to get people out. The rooms smelled moldy, and the carpets looked like they hadn't been clean in years. The bathroom is a functional nightmare. This place is a money grab. Don't let the pretty lobby and fish tank fool you. This place is horrible at best.

Computer system is down. We were sent to another property that’s not as nice.

Valerie L (Camarillo, California) on Mar 29, 2024

The whole computer system was down when we arrived at the hotel. The Alohilani sent us to the Twin Fin. The property is not as nice. Apparently the computer system at the Alohilani has been down for three days. I’m incredibly disappointed to have been sent to a lesser property. Now I’m going to have to spend the better part of my trip fighting with the credit card company to get my prepaid stay reimbursed. This is unacceptable beyond reason. The very least the Alohilani could have done was to put us up at a comperababule property.
