Dated hotel
ray b on Mar 23, 2024
Shabby room, moth eaten carpet. Needs an uplift. Beds comfortable and good soft pillows. Clean, good size bathroom and room just all a little dated. No tea or coffee making in room, expensive and long queues downstairs in casino for tea and coffee and breakfast. No customer service, you check in and check out in a machine so speak to no-one! Pool area nice. Need more facilities for residents
Bordeaux Rooms vs Versailles Tower
LesleyLane (Dallas, Texas) on Mar 23, 2024
We have stayed at the Paris on and off since 2008. The rooms were somewhat recently updated pre-covid. On the Paris website, it is VERY difficult to know the difference from the Bordeaux Rooms vs the 'new' Versailles tower. Until we were physically at the hotel, I was still confused as to what the Versailles Tower was. The website implies it is a brand new tower. An agent referred to the rooms as completely renovated. We booked the Bordeaux Rooms as I wasn't sure what the deal was with Versailles. The agent said it is a short walk in an indoor setting to get from Versaille to the Paris casino area. She should have just said the Versailles Tower is located in the Horsehoe, but we are branding it as part of Paris. The Versailles Tower is actually one of the old Bally's tower (now called the Horseshoe). They renovated the rooms in the newly re-named Versailles Tower and I have heard they are very nice. However, I am 100% glad that we booked Bordeaux. We love the ambience and restaurants at Paris. If you are in Versailles, you come out of the elevator in the Horseshoe. Very different atmosphere and little choice in restaurants. My husband loved going down for breakfast every morning to get crepes in the Paris and a good espresso. The only espresso at the Horseshoe was a machine (not a manual machine). It is around a 10 minute walk had we stayed at Versailles. It depends on what you are looking for as to whether you choose Versailles or Bordeaux. Versailles rooms are basically brand new in an old building. Bordeaux is in Paris with a much better casino/lobby area. We thought the rooms were very good in Bordeaux. I am very picky with hotels and I didn't see any wear and tear on the room. My only complaint was the housekeeping and the registration area. Housekeeping was difficult to get to come clean the room. We had to call the night before and they only came to clean 2 of the 4 nights. The agent told us they were very short handed and behind schedule. They were very responsive, however, if you only requested extra towels. Paris needs to fix their registration process. We used the APP, but you still had to stand in a line for those checking in on the APP. All the APP does when you 'check-in' is give you a QR code that you have to scan at a kiosk. We waited about10-15 minutes to get to an open kiosk. The line for those without the APP was very long. I am used to Hiltons and Marriotts where you can check in on the APP and then it gives you a digital key to get in your room. The kiosks at Paris dispense actual room key cards. Check out ended up being easy. I tried to check out on the APP, but it wasn't working. I saw the line at the front desk which was very long. I asked an employee, who seemed to be monitoring/answering questions in the checkout area, how I can check out without standing in line. She said if you don't have any disputes with your bill, the system will auto check you out at the checkout time.

Check-in took at least 30-40 minutes because only 3 people were at the desk, even though the lines were full. Our room was cleaned daily and we received fresh towels. It’s March Madness and our televisions won’t work. Called several times for service. They brought batteries for the remote and said engineering would have to fix it. Haven’t heard from them since and no television. Sports Book was a disaster if you reserved a table. Person shows up right before games start and she has no plan. People at the bar and where you place bets were excellent.
Long lines at the check-in desk/Preferred Service to certain guests

The room was nice with a nice view of the Eiffel Tower. Centrally located near the Miracle Mile shops. Smaller hotel with a good variety of restaurants. However, after a long flight, be prepared to stand in line to check-in for a good 45 mins - 1 hour as they do not have enough staff at the front desk. We noticed that the line at the front desk was always long. Be prepared to pay a $56 per night resort fee (an added fee that I wasn't aware was going to be charged) and $7 for a small cup of coffee. I expected that our room would be serviced for the resort fee that was charged but we did not have our room serviced for two days. We never had any meals at any of the Paris restaurants because the prices were so high ($22 for 2 small coffee and 1 small Danish). Too bad. Also be aware that there will often be two different line-ups for check-in or getting coffee etc. One line-up will be for Diamond members and the other line-up will be for regular guests. It was very frustrating to be in a long line-up to get a coffee as a regular guest and finally make it to the front, only to have a "Diamond" member come into their line and be served ahead of you because they get preferred service. Made me feel like the Paris didn't appreciate me as a guest. I don't think I would come back to this hotel.
