This is tired property and a farce. This should be downgraded to a hotel chain rather than a resort

Stayed in a so called 1 bedroom..it was smaller than a studio. The kitchen didnt have cleaner, dish soap. Kitchen didnt have even a coffee mug. It had a fruit juice cup that we were told to use for coffee. The mini golf course was pathetic and one has to pay for it. The little walkway to the lake was closed. The property is undergoing a lot of extra construction and all the free space is gone !! And you cant find parking near your apartment. you have to go all over the damned property to get parking. The quality of the apartment is poor. decor is bad. Furniture is low quality. And they clean your room only once that week you stay. Lot of pressure to attend timeshare- with promises of 60% discounts.....they allude to the theme parks....but here is what I got. $5 discount per ticket for univesal...and drumroll .....$0 for Disney !! I asked what event do I get a 65% discount on...some obscure non event in downtown Kissimee or Orlando. This is not a vacation experience. This is a scam

    They Profit from Pandemics!!!!

I'm writing this review because I want everyone to know that not only does Westgate have shady business practices, they also profit from pandemics! Here's my story. I booked a week at the resort around Universal and Disney events checking in on 3/15/20. Low and behold Disney and Universal both decided to close late Thursday 3/12/20 at the very last minute with no notice due to COVID19 pandemic (with closure effective 3/15 through end of month). Typically if you cancel your reservations after it's booked Westgate charges a $200 booking fee if it's less than 60 days out. Therefore, I called them and asked them nicely to work with me since all of my plans involved events I planned to attend at Universal and Disney and it makes no sense for me to use the week with them being closed. I asked for the fee to be waived and told them I would call to reschedule. The rep put me on hold and came back and very nonchalantly told me that Westgate is business as usual and I still have to pay the rebooking fee or use the week as scheduled but she got it lowered to $159. I told her I didn't think that was fair because in good faith I had no idea about the closures. How was I supposed to know they were closing at the last minute? She didn't care and just repeated the same thing again. At that point I asked to speak to a supervisor since she wasn't listening to me and probably didn't have the authority to do anything else. She puts me on hold again and comes back to the phone after several minutes only to tell me that no sup was available but they lowered the fee to $100! At that point, tact went out the window and I completely lost my patience. And on a side note, why wait until I ask to speak to a sup to offer another lowered fee of $100? SHADY! Why did the sup not come to the phone? SHADY! I was frustrated and exclaimed to her that people are dying and that's why the parks are closing and instead of helping the issue, they're using this opportunity to nickel and dime people!!! I'm not the one who decided to close the parks yet I have to pay for it!!! I basically told them they were scum and less than human and should be ashamed of themselves in a not nice tone. Rep starts threatening to terminate the call and STILL WASN'T LISTENING to a thing I said. What did she expect? I'm not going to keep being civil if I'm not being heard! The reps don't listen and need better customer service training. Very aggravating to deal with constantly. So now, here I am, making sure everyone knows how they are. I admonish anyone who reads this not to book or own with such a disgusting and filthy organization!!! They profit from pandemics and care nothing about the public at large. This is evident based on how they treated me! All other resorts in the area (including Disney) have been canceling reservations and waiving fees no problem but not Westgate. They utterly sicken me with their SHADY practices. I hope a way opens up to stop them and shut them down someday.

    SCAM! Don’t waste your time.

I contacted Westgate because of advertised discount tickets for Sea World. I was told that there would be a FULL, extravagant breakfast but what we got was a cheap egg scramble and undercooked sausage served on styrofoam plates. The salesman was nice at first but as soon as we decided that we needed to think about the purchase, he COMPLETELY flipped on us! It was like Jekyl and Hyde. We asked for his business card because we were genuinely interested but he replied that he only gives his card to people he does business with. It was beyond rude. The 90 minute session was more like 3.5-4 hours. The high pressure negative sales pitch was repulsive. I’d rather have paid full price for the tickets than spend half of my day with this load of bull. BEWARE!

    An Amazing Trip

My husband and I just stayed here for our 2 year anniversary and had a great time. The room was clean, the store had everything we needed and wasn't overpriced, we were so close to Universal Studios and the staff were very friendly Michael Murray and Jesus were the best. They were there everyday making sure we had transportation to our room and told us some of the best places to visit while we were there.

Nice BUT Pressure to Buy Timeshare Shouldn't Be

The resort in and of itself is nice! The ONLY thing about Westgate is the pressure to buy a timeshare. Be forewarned about this. I was persistent with my "NO!" answer and will no more give them another three hours of my precious time. They tell you the presentation lasts about ninety minutes but in reality it's closer to three hours. Heed my words unless you have thousands of dollars to shell out.
