Historic resort but "tired" rooms

Our family of six spent 6 nights in two rooms at the resort. The main building was clean and nicely decorated for the holidays and the fire pit areas outside were awesome. Our rooms were fine... just fine. They need some love and attention honestly. Staff seemed friendly but with Covid, limited contact. The mattresses could stand to be replaced for sure- one at least seemed to totally sink into the middle. The non-fitted bottom sheets came off every night, exposing the mattress, and mattress pad would bunch up under the sheet. One room had stains on the ceiling above a bed. Both rooms showers drained VERY SLOWLY- not a fan of standing in a pool of water when showering. Grout in shower, around the window especially, was cracked and rusty looking. I'm sure the room was clean, but it didn't FEEL especially clean. Outdoor space (directly outside the rooms) could use some attention as well... maybe a pair of chairs rather than one with the table, patio sweeping, updated paint where chipped. The general grounds were lovely with the seasonal decorations though. With two rooms we paid double the added "resort fee" for our stay... unfortunately not sure what we received for that honestly, other than an additional charge. Especially since Covid seemed to limit many services, including house keeping, which was done once during our 6 nights. It was nice to see the sun and blue skies in the winter; love the Phoenix area and the family together time, however our rooms needed a little attention/updating. Was just hoping for a bit more with the accommodations.

Our family booked a family vacation at the Wigwam over the Christmas holiday. Unfortunately the day we arrived, we received notification that one of our family members was exposed to the Corona virus. We notified the hotel and they we very helpful in canceling our reservation, including Christmas dinner reservations and golf tee times, all at no charge. We greatly appreciate their excellent customer service and look forward to re-booking as soon as possible.
Very relaxing atmosphere

My 91 year old father and i stayed just after Thanksgiving. There wasn't many people staying there at the time. The resort is very nice. the pool was wonderful. We ate at two restaurants. Litchfield's was incredible!! The other casual restaurant was good and comfortable. the staff were very nice and the room was comfortable and clean. I will be coming back.
Best place to have a golf trip adventure!

Rooms, people and food are fabulous! The three golf courses are fabulous and the staff is even better! Rick, Leo and Nicco take care of everyone at the Pro Shop. J Green and Brianna make sure that all of your reservations are perfect! They have an amazing staff!

What a great stay! Grounds are amazing! They embraced the Christmas spirit and made it so memorable for our family getaway. Dining on the premises is top notch. The rooms were large and a fun layout to typical “hotel” resorts. Overall 5 star stay!!! We will always look to stay here first when in the area for sure!
