Beautiful beach and property

We have been to Iberostar in Punta Cana many times but this was our first time staying at the Coral Level which is a section of the Bavaro Suites that has been re-branded. The food selection, quality and service were all very good. Drinks were also very good. Cocktails were made with real fruit, (not with the sweet syrups that many resorts use). We ate at most of the à-la-carte restaurants and most of the food was very good to excellent. We especially enjoyed the Brave steakhouse. We really enjoyed the beachfront El Faro Restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. The hostess, YUDELKIS was very friendly throughout our 2 week stay, and added to the enjoyment of our vacation. Waiter, Ramon was very friendly, and attentive. Waitress, Maria was always smiling and very happy and efficient. Ruth was training as a waitress and was always smiling and eager to learn. Entertainment:. The fire show was excellent and the soloist/violinist/singers,etc were very good, but we did not enjoy the on-stage shows at all. Bubalu did a good job leading the water aerobics. Rooms: our room was nice and it was spacious, but the latch lock was broken. We asked for maintenance of it on our second day, but it was not repaired during our stay (but the regular dead-bolt lock worked fine). We like the fact that Iberostar is doing their part for the environment by eliminating single use plastics. The filtered drinking water stations were available throughout the resort and provided very good water. The public washrooms have replaced paper towels with individual face cloths, which is fine, however, they often ran out of facecloths so they should have paper towels or air driers as a back up. Maintenance of the public washrooms was reasonable, except for the beach washroom that did not have soap for five days, despite us, bringing it to their attention several times. Told them that this was totally unacceptable and disgusting. It still took 5 days for the soap to be refilled. The on-site Coral Lab was a nice addition, and we learned some very interesting facts from the marine biologist who was working there. Beach is beautiful and there was very little (minimal) seaweed. We had no trouble getting beach chairs

Another great stay at the Coral Level. Food was fantastic, beach was clean, service was on-point in every way. Shout out to Big J and Big E at the front desk and Leo our concierge. Edwin the bartender was anxious to please as well as all the staff. Iberostar knows what they are doing!
Absolutely amazing!

I can honestly say this is the most wonderful hotel made even better by the absolutely amazing staff. My husband and I spent two weeks here and had a fantastic time. The location is stunning but what really sets it apart is the team who work there. The coral restaurants are amazing, Anna, Yudelkis and the whole team treat you like family from day 1 and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was kept immaculate by our wonderful maid Margarita, We spent most of our time by the infinity pool and the bar staff there were so lovely and helpful. My husband unfortunately slipped and cut his head whilst we were there - a simple accident that could have happened anywhere to anybody , the team could not have been lovelier, they kept checking to make sure he was ok and you could tell it was genuine concern. I honestly can say this is the best holiday we have had for years and we will absolutely definitely be back. If anyone is wondering if it’s worth the extra money for Coral level! Go for it! You will have the best time
The staff here are amazing!!

Upon arriving at the coral level reception, Agustín made our check-in a simple and stress free process. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and accommodating. There is also a bar located in the reception where you will find Dioris the bartender, she is lovely. We found the landscaping to be beautiful and very well maintained. At breakfast I was very pleased with how fresh the food was. Samuel and Ramon were our waiters, both were very pleasant. We absolutely loved the luxury of the pool being located right on the beach. It came with amazing views and amazing service. Carlos and Ishmael were the bartenders during the day, they were such a delight. Very happy individuals. My aunt and uncle are gluten free. They were nervous a mix-up would happen at dinner, but Akeny made sure there was nothing to worry about. He even brought out the head chef to discuss the food options, which gave them peace of mind. El Faro and Salt & Sol were two of my favorite restaurants because of the live music and the staff. My favorite entertainment was the saxophone player, it was very relaxing. Kelvin at El Faro and Manuel at Salt & Sol were very attentive to us. Both of them made sure we were taken care of. My family and I had a wonderful vacation, we are looking forward to next time.
Some good, some not so good — not 5*

This was our 20th all inclusive, our 6th trip to Punta Cana, our first stay at this resort. Summary: no major issues, but not a 5 star resort. Read on for details… 5 stars: housekeeping and turndown service; Milena did a fantastic job keeping our room clean. 5 stars: the golf cart service that takes you wherever you want to go, even the golf course, is always available within a few minutes, friendly, and efficient. 5 stars: beach was gorgeous and water crystal clear and soft sand, as well as fun but safe waves. The fact that the beds are in front, blocking the view is an issue. Plenty of palapas, but not super close to the water; people spent a lot of time moving chairs around. And of course, plenty of people reserving their spot with towels and not showing up for hours (resort doesn’t enforce no seat reservations). Wear insect repellent—our legs are covered in sand flea bites (not the resort’s fault!) 5 stars: the grounds are beautiful… tons of vegetation and different birds, fish, turtles, around the lobby areas. The resort is clean (including public washrooms) and in top shape; although there was a lot of work happening while we were there. 4 stars: our king suite close to the beach and also close to three pools and several restaurants, was quiet, spacious and comfortable, with a large shower, one sink, a hair dryer that only worked on “cool”, and nicely scented shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion. There were always 5 towels, 2 cloths, and 2 hand towels that got replaced during turn down service, as needed. The fridge included sodas, water, and beer, and there were chocolate bars, peanuts, and chips to snack on. A/C could not be cooler than 22 C and can feel warmer after a shower or if the sun was hitting the room. 6 drawers and about 10 hangers were available for storage. The safe worked fine. 4 stars: pools were clean and refreshing! Knocking off a star as pool service was missing at the quiet pool, inconsistent at the infinity pool, and there were no “extras” as we’ve seen at many other 5-star resorts like grills, snacks, musicians, etc. Like at the beach, chairs are reserved early (at 7 a.m.). Strangely, we had to get our towels at the beach… there were no bins in which to drop them off or to pick up fresh ones; and they are very restricted… 1 each only, and must be exchanged on the beach. 3 stars: service was inconsistent and although I hate to say it, this was the biggest language barrier we’ve experienced—and we can usually be understood with our minimal Spanish at other resorts; some knew no English! Some days we’d get the drinks we ordered, other days we wouldn’t. Some days our meals came quickly, other times we’d have to wait. 3 stars: restaurant reservation system is annoying! On our very first night, there were no more availabilities for the steakhouse or Italian… for the 7 days! Especially when a concierge mentions you can hand the host a $10 and get in anyways since so many people simply don’t show up. After we cancelled our second dinner at the Mexican given how bad the food was and cancelled one night since we weren’t hungry, the system didn’t allow us to book online and the concierge was upset we had been cancelling—at least we weren’t “no shows” was my response. 3 stars: check in was relatively quick, but when we walked into the Coral Level lobby, things were chaotic and everything seemed dirty, not the best first impression. We immediately asked about upgrading to Grand Bavaro, but they had no rooms. Our room was ready when we arrived at 2ish… that was a relief! 3 stars: restaurants—La Marimba and El Tapatio restaurants did not serve quality food, the fans didn’t work at the second and service was slow… it was a bad experience all together. Salt and Soul and La Coupole were a solid 4 stars in terms of menu options and food quality. Breakfast and lunch buffet at El Faro had many fresh choices, but warm vs. hot food. A 5* hotel should offer à la carte options for Coral Level, for lunch and breakfast. Men can wear bermuda shorts to all, long pants rule at La Coupole not enforced. 1 star: vendors were very pushy both on the beach and on the two nights they set up tables at the resort. Of course, we simply said no thank you (repeatedly!) but at times that wasn’t enough… there’s no need to ask for names and nationality to make a sale, and “not interested” should be enough! Overall, it was an okay stay with no room issues and relaxing days at the beach and pools.
