best place in Cap Cana

robertjv2015 (Montreal, Canada) on Apr 13, 2024

I am a critical Marriott Platinum member and I must say that Sanctuary fully satisfied our expectations as a Caribean all-inclusive destination. I was there for 11 nights with my husband and we had an excellent time and our accomodations were upgraded with little effort. This resort is special, it does not feel commercial, the spanish-style architecture and layout are very pleasing. As a matter of fact, during our vacation, we bought a day pass to Secrets Cap Cana nearby for one day just to check it out, and we felt it was generic and the pools were squished together, overall less clean than Sanctuary and without distinctive flavour. Most importantly, the staff in general at Sanctuary is really really excellent ! We can think of many people but we actuallly remember the following : Francisco Diaz of the front desk who immediately understood my needs as a Platinum member, Camacho our amazing butler, Onilda the cleaning lady, and all the service staff we just happen to note : Ginette, Katia, JJ, Maria, Ricardo, Wellington, Xiorkis, Francis, Yoledy, MelisaBeth and the funny activities guy who took us on a bike ride (we forget his name, sorry --- super papi !!! LOL),. and several others. Many thanks for your warm hospitality and friendliness, it was greatly appreciated. The only thing we did not like is that the resort booked many big groups all together in our last days : a wedding group, a business reunion for sales reps, and a sorority reunion, all from the States. It felt very loud and overcrowded during these days. Maybe the resort should be careful about booking so many groups all at the same time because it affects the VIP atmosphere. We were lucky to know the resort well enough to avoid the inconvenience. Overall it was really amazing, above and beyond. Many thanks again. Warmest regards. Robert & Christian xx

Wonderful trip to Sanctuary Cap Cana!

Cranberryfam (Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania) on Apr 13, 2024

We had a great stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana. Having been to many all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean (St Lucia, Punta Cana, Jamaica, Bahamas) and Mexico, we can honestly say that this was one of our favorites. The food was very good, including the breakfast and lunch buffets. The resort was beautiful, clean, and well kept. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, especially these employees that made our stay truly enjoyable: Lugo was a great butler! He went above the normal tasks to do things such as contact our pre booked driver to change pickup time and location; he sent cheese, fruit, and wine to our room for a late afternoon snack; he ordered room service for us so we didn’t even need to call; and he helped us change rooms mid-week. Ginette from the Italian restaurant and breakfast was such a lovely and helpful person! Felix set us up at the pool and beach and we enjoyed talking to him. Laury from the castle front desk was a pleasure to work with. Dario and Elvis from the Italian restaurant were great waiters. We are already planning on booking another trip here.

Amazing couples get away

TravelByTips (Marlborough, Massachusetts) on Apr 13, 2024

We loved our stay here...the resort was stunning and not too far from the airport (20 minutes). We booked through Delta Vacations and were pleased with the whole process. Our room was in building 2 on the 6th floor...it offered an amazing panoramic view of the ocean and the sunrise. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was great (especially the buffet, Italian restaurant and the hibachi place) and the staff was warm/helpful. We visited the coffee cafe in the lobby a number of times and never waited more than a few minutes. We were able to secure reservations for the two restaurants where they were recommended ahead of our trip by contacting the concierge desk. The pools were in great condition and the beach was kept well maintained. We also liked visiting the Castle pool where there was almost no one else! The other parts of the Castle (indoor water feature) and gym were also top notch. Although we only walked through the shops and little restaurants at Sanctuary town...it was a fun little addition on the resort. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again!

Good and Bad

BLC34 (New York) on Apr 13, 2024

I sent this review to the manager Mr. Diaz but his email was full so hopefully he will see this post. This is also to alert future guests. My husband and I stayed at Apr 4-Apr 8 for a wedding. We stayed in Rm 3037 (above the disco). Let me first commend a stand out employee Ginette, hostess at the morning buffet and at the Italian Restaurant. She made an effort to learn our name and how to pronounce it, and she was lovely. On Sat, we left our room to go to the pool for a few hours. We left around 11:15 -11:30am and came back around 2:15 to 2:30 Pm. I did the second water bike spin class which was fun. Housekeeping came to clean in the interim. When we came back, we found that someone went through my husband’s shorts and took 60 dollars. My handbag was hidden in the closet and 33 dollars was taken from it. We had our valuables in the safe, but had cash not in the safe in order to tip the staff. The next day, we later noticed that a Presidente beer was also missing from the fridge. When we left our room that Saturday, around 11:15 or so, there was a painter working on the Italian Restaurant Exterior as we went down the stairs. You should know that on Sunday, when my husband left the room, the painter was on the top landing of our building, and as soon as he saw my husband come out of the room, he quickly turned around and went down the stairs. He was not painting our floor and had no supplies. He was looking down at our rooms. We are not accusing but are very suspicious. We think he was going to check the room doors and see if he could get in. It is also possible that the housekeeping staff left our room door not fully closed, in order to let the painter in to steal from us on Saturday. Our Saturday afternoon before the wedding was ruined as we wasted time making the report and then taking Security up to our Room. We wanted to work out before the wedding but could not. Sunday we were told they did not find anything and we were given a Bali bed. We want you to know about the missing beer and the suspicious actions of the painter to make sure no one else has their vacation ruined like ours. Otherwise the resort is very pretty.

Fantastic Stay - The Sanctuary Cap Cana Lives up to its Name!

Imbabura12 on Apr 13, 2024

We went to Cap Cana for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was a fantastic and memorable celebration! The Sanctuary staff treated us like royalty, especially the head Chef Marco Serrano from Spain, and the Resident Manager Andrea Bosio from Italy (this amazing resort spares no expense in building an outstanding executive team). Our Mayordomo (Butler) Frank was also wonderful! The food was excellent with a variety of great restaurants, and we loved our room as well, the only issue was that the beach had a fair amount of little stones, so bring a pair of water shoes. This is a very high end resort, which will create wonderful memories (we are already planning our return!). Robert
