The Resort – 5 stars This resort is small and quiet. I prefer an intimate experience to the kind of experience you would find at Punta Cana. You can walk the beaches and it feels like you have the entire beach you yourself. The setting is beautiful- beach, sand, mountains, and pool. During our stay, we were the only Americans at the resort. We liked this. We met people from all over the world. Note that most of the staff speaks little English. With a small amount of effort we were able to get by. The Room – 5 stars Our room was great. We had a ground floor room with a patio. It was a great spot to read a book when we needed a break from the sun. The room was clean and modern. The shower was excellent. The Food – 4.5 stars We were always able to find something we liked. There will be some people who are not satisfied with the food. It depends partially on what you expect. The brick oven pizza was amazing and the fruit was delicious. The Service – 2 stars Overall, the staff did not seem friendly. At every interaction they always seemed very annoyed. My wife and I like to go on cruises where the service is excellent. Compared to this resort, the service on a cruise ship is in an entirely different league. Activities – 4 stars The staff do a good job of getting people involved. For such a small resort, the staff do a good job of finding fun things for people to do. Overall – 4.5 Stars Overall I give this resort high marks based on the beautiful location, and nice facilities.

This resort provides great entertainment including dancing every night, shows, delicious food in a variety of venues, many activities and comfortable rooms. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. The activity staff are a pleasure and quite entertaining as well as engaging. All in all this is a favorite place to visit.

I will start by first saying sometimes I wonder if the negative reviewers actually stayed at this resort. As a repeat guest, I strongly refute the following: 1. Sparkling wine is sparkling wine, not sparkling water as a reviewer claimed 2. English is adequate to excellent, the "no English" claim is false 3. The Entertainment Crew is top notch! 4. Food is fine to outstanding, not garbage as written 5. There are multiple outlets in the room, not one as someone erroneously reported That said, I'll move on to my experience. This was my second visit to this property, I am already planning my return. I am very well travelled, with 60 beach vacays under my belt. I give this resort a solid 5 star review. Staff, food, nightly entertainment, ambiance, rooms, beach and beverages all met and/or exceeded my expectations. We loved not having to make reservations at the three A La Cartes. We never had to wait to be seated and the experience was always excellent. As a picky vegetarian married to a foodie, we were both happy with every meal and in two weeks never felt the need to dine off resort, as we had originally planned to do. We considered the bungalows, but love the 3rd floor rooms. The proximity to the beach and view from the balcony makes this our preferred choice. The Animation Crew makes this resort so special. You can be as active (or not) as you wish. You are invited to participate, but a simple No Thank You, and there is no pressure to par take. There are many organized activities (bocce, darts, yoga, dance, water fitness + many more) for those who prefer a more active holiday. I prefer R&R so kindly decline invites. Of special mention are the following staff members, who have absolutely made my last two stays: JORDAN Katherine Santos Francis Elsa Erika Cristina Sammy Yocairys Esfrailin Chocolate A few things to bring: Bug spray (sand fleas are bad at dusk and dawn) Thermal mug Facecloths Small bills for tipping (money can be exchanged, but it is a front desk, not a bank, it is better to come prepared) Things in abundance: Pool towels Activities Shade at pool and beach Souveniers Friendly staff Feel free to message me any questions you may have. Salud :)

I reluctantly joined the Viva Wyndham about 10 years ago.. I used it one time and was so dissatisfied I never returned. This year we booked a week at the Viva V in las Terrenas and were very surprised at how much we enjoyed the stay. The hotel is very far from any of the airports and there is not much to do in the surrounding area. Our room had the small pool in the balcony area it was modern clean and nicely decorated. I have been to almost every resort area in the DR and found that the employees at the V were amazing compared to Puerto Plata, Juan Dolio and Punta Cana. We did the Cascada Limon tour it was a bit over priced at $90 per person but it was great... Each guide takes 1 guest with a horse they are used to working with they bring you fruits and inform you about every tree on the way to the falls. The guides are not paid but work for tips and we felt they deserved a great tip. We also enjoyed the food, drinks and excellent service at the resort. Since it is a couples only resort It was so peaceful...!!! The grounds and facility were spotless.

I was part of a group of around 40 people who attend this resort annually for a service project with a nonprofit out of Ohio called CHARM. The point of this review is certainly not to talk about the nonprofit so let me get to the point. I normally do not go to all inclusive resorts because I like to travel for food and unfortunately after about one day all of the food at all inclusive resorts tastes the same. Unfortunately, I cannot say this resort is any different. However, I will tell you that the chef they have behind the pasta bar, who makes fresh pasta daily both lunch and dinner and is from Italy is a showstopper and what made me be more than OK with the nightly dinners and lunches. This Italian chef, exudes passion and love for his job. He always has a smile and will do whatever he can to prepare you pasta the way you want it. I absolutely loved his pasta. While I am bragging about particular employees I also want to mention Jordan from the entertainment team. In all honesty, I believe he told me his name was Michael but he went by Jordan. Ha ha ha. You will know who I’m talking about because this gentleman, I want to Dominican probably around 24 or 25 speaks great English, speaks French, and I believe as even teaching himself German. He was the most friendly, outgoing and accommodative person at the resort. Our room was cleaned daily, we always have clean towels, and I really have no complaints other than I did find our air conditioner stay on auto. It was either on or off and so it will get very cold during the day. We would shut it off when we would come home to sleep at night but then turn it on halfway through the evening when the room will start to heat up. The beach is beautiful sand and all sorts of shells and we never really struggled to find an open chair. I did have to grab my own chair and move it around from time to time and did not see any staff running over to help me, but that’s not a big deal in my opinion. The best place to eat would be the main buffet area right inside the primary reception area. We did have dinner one night in the little restaurant also in the main reception area but it took over two hours to eat and we did not get much food. I would stick to the main reception dining area.
