My husband & I spent a week at Serenity for our honeymoon in late August. We were greeted on arrival by our butler (Alden) who was waiting with minty cold face towels & fizzy water. He then showed us to our suite via the gorgeous pool and lovely paths through the resort. Our room was truly incredible. The pool was gorgeous, the hammock super comfy & relaxing to be in. The bath and shower were both delightful and the air con was very good (and needed at night time). The outside area where we ordered breakfast to on our first morning was really something. It felt so private and calm. We had an absolutely brilliant stay, the staff were incredible and so welcoming, polite and friendly. We ordered snacks a few times but didn’t on another day - Alden surprised us with our ‘usual’ order. It was brilliant! The atmosphere was relaxed and calm. The food at the main restaurant at Serenity was delicious and varied - we particularly enjoyed the Caribbean Night! We took advantage of the other restaurants at the main Coconut Bay resort too. Kalabash was fantastic so we ate there twice; recommend the chicken fritters & veg pasta! Silk was also excellent and we enjoyed our meals very much. There were so many lovely personal touches it’s hard to remember them all. I must mention Rosey, the housekeeper, who made us laugh with her inventive towel folding and amazing inspirational quotes. She also left us a sheet with all the activities for the following day which was good to see what we could plan! Lez was a good laugh at the bar and made all sorts of drinks we requested (sorry for the confusion!). Gregg and Angus were also fabulously helpful along with every other member of staff! We also took advantage of the kayaking on the Coconut Bay beach which was really cool. The bar was also a nice touch - we really enjoyed a cocktail (piña colada of course) looking out at the ocean. The tour of the island (part of the grand romance package) was phenomenal. Our guide, Spencer, was a superb source of information and chatted to us about anything and everything to do with the history of the island! Would thoroughly recommend the tour to everyone - the resort is stunning but it’s nice to see the rest of the island too. We did the mud baths and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Beware the sulphur smell of the volcano! The waterfall was incredible and possibly my favourite part of the tour! It was so refreshing. The beach cabana dinner was exquisite and really, really special. Our friends paid for us to do the horse riding experience via the hotel and this was just amazing! The views were stunning and finding tiny beaches where we could swim in the gorgeous sea. So special. So perfect. There was a steel drum guy one night who was fantastic! Plus a few other nights there were some excellent singers who brought a chill evening vibe. It’s also worth walking over to Harmony at Coconut Bay and sitting by the sea in a lovely hammock. All the staff were super friendly and fun to talk to - I’m so sorry I can’t remember anyone else’s name! We had such a lovely time with them all. Overall, I don’t think there is one thing that could have made our stay any better. It was the perfect honeymoon - thank you so so much.

Just wanted you to know the definition of serenity before I start my review of Serenity at Coconut Bay, St. Lucia. My wife and I travelled to Serenity to celebrate our 30th. Anniversary. Having not been on a vacation alone together, for over 30 years (kids, mortgage, not having a job where I make lots of money, life in general), I had to make a well-researched decision on where to go. After hours of looking on the internet at all the islands as well as a short list of particulars my wife and I had compiled, we decided on Serenity and boy am I glad we did. From the time we landed in St. Lucia, where the temperature was ideal for an island vacation, until the time we sadly had to leave the resort, we enjoyed every minute. We quickly found the transfer booth right outside the airport and were greeted by a young man who had a vehicle ready to transport us to the resort within 10 seconds. We arrived at Serenity within 5 minutes and as we stepped out of the car, our butler Gregg was coming out of the front door with a refreshing drink and a nice cool towel to refresh us after our journey. Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. XXXX were the first words out of his mouth. What a great first impression and just a sampling of what was to come. We left our luggage at the gorgeous front reception area and Gregg escorted us to our room. Along the way, we met up with Don the resort manager by the pool area (the pool area is truly spectacular) and he welcomed us to Serenity stating that we would have a wonderful stay and he ensured us that if there was anything he and the staff could do for us, they would make it happen. Next, we were shown to our suite and it was even better than the photos you can see on the website and on-line. Pictures do not do it justice. We freshened up and had some champagne which was already chilled in our room with a welcome note attached. Our butler had already taken care of our dinner reservation for us at the Greathouse restaurant which is on the premises beside the pool. What an amazing place to enjoy all our meals! Although you are able to try all the restaurants at Coconut bay, we decided that the menu options at the Greathouse and the service, presentation and quality could not be matched by any of the other restaurants. All of the meals and snacks were superb. Believe me when I say that! Big shout out to all the cooks and servers at the Greathouse. Thank you to you all as the three pounds I put on while there were thanks to your efforts. Poolside bar staff also deserve many thanks as the service and quality of the drinks were top-notch. Please bear in mind that when I speak of the staff at Serenity, everyone from the cleaning staff to the front desk, butlers, landscapers (Johnathon the coconut guy)and everyone I have forgotten greet you with a warm smile and and a friendly word every day all day no matter who you encounter. I cannot tell you how far that went to making our trip remarkable. If you can afford to stay for 7 days or more you will enjoy the benefit of some extra extravagances. Massage was wonderful. Private beach cabana, pool side cabana dining, sunset cruise(awesome and a shout out to Arshan for making it so memorable), Day tripping (mud baths, volcano, botanical gardens, and much more with super guide Danny-Boy the next Prime-Minister of St. Lucia).I could go on and on but I will close for now by simply stating that Serenity was a fantastic place to vacation and we are glad we chose them to celebrate our special event. Any other places we visit will have to really be on their game to live up to Serenity's standards. We would like to thank Don and his staff one last time for making our experience one that will be etched in our memories for the rest of our lives.

This is one of the easiest and hardest reviews I have written. It is easy because it was fantastic and the best holiday I have been on; difficult because I want to do it justice. When we booked Serenity, we knew straight away that it should be a wonderful experience; however, our expectations were simply blown away. Our arrival to Serenity was so smooth: a car was waiting for us at the airport, we had a three minute transfer (if it was even that long) and we were then met by our butler. His name was Gregg, and he was amazing: he offered us a cold towel and a drink of water, and soon realised that it was something stronger that we were after. A refreshing drink of Piton followed, and these were a staple during our stay. He then took us to our suit. The pictures do not do it justice: the interior is amazing as it is spacious and luxurious. The bath and shower are great, and the bed is honestly the most comfortable that my fiancé or I have ever slept in. The courtyard is also wonderful: a plunge pool, sun beds, hammock and a wet bar with a mini-fridge for us to use and refill as we wished - we really were in paradise. Gregg told us that part of the service he provided was to arrange any excursions that we wanted to go on, and we duly took him up on this. Because we were staying for more than seven nights, we also got the romance package - this is great value for money. We also booked other excursions such as an ATV tour of the island, hiking the Piton, zip lining through the rain forest, snorkelling and horse riding. Our butler Gregg and Dania in reception were so helpful in organising these, and even more supportive of any changes needed to be made. They made this part of the holiday absolutely stress free. As a guest of Serenity, you are also allowed to visit Coconut Bay, which we did on many occasions. The vibe here is slightly different, as it is less formal and very relaxed. However, the one thing that does not change is the attitude from the staff, who really aim to please all the time. The beach there was lovely, and because of the boon and the tractor raking, was very clear of seaweed. The water is really warm and great to swim in. We ate a few times there, and it was lovely, both the buffet and the jerk tree house. The food at Serenity was magnificent. The breakfast was delicious, and it was a pleasure to be met by Cathy each morning and to be looked after by Titti and Tyler. For dinner, I have seen comments that the menu at the Greathouse is limited. I thought so originally as it only had six main meals. However, there is a special every day, I had dinner there eleven times, did not repeat myself and still did not ‘complete’ the menu. My partner, who is a more fussy eater, was pleased when she found out she could essentially ask for whatever she wanted to be prepared for her, which it was. Anyway, we both out a lot of weight on, so they must have been doing something right!! The staff at the Greathouse were brilliant, in particular Natoya and Chaud who served us the most. The grounds at Serenity are beautiful, and it really is a spectacular place to stay. We had an anniversary there and it was marked by the hotel beautifully. Because there are only 32 suites, it does feel more intimate than most hotels, which is highlighted by how quickly staff learn who you are. In fact, the staff are what really makes this place stand out from the rest. Our butlers Gregg, Angus and Alden were really lovely, and looked after our every need - even those we didn’t realise we had! The bar was run fantastically well by Daisy and Lee, who both make the best cocktails (daiquiris and dirty bananas in particular). Our room was looked after brilliantly by Patrice and Rosey, who wrote us messages, made us towel sculptures and sprayed our room to help rid us of mosquitoes. All of this happened under the watchful eye of the manager Don. He too was incredible. He spoke to all guests, took an interest in what they did, was helpful and always quick with a smile and a wave during the day. All the staff here are wonderful. As I said earlier, Serenity is the best place that we have stayed at, and we are already looking to visit again next year. It is the easiest 5 stars that I have ever given, and I only wish we were allowed to give more. Book here, you won’t be disappointed.

Where to start ? As beautiful as Serenity is, it would only be concrete and water without the fabulous staff that work there. They truly are the heartbeat of this perfect paradise. First there is Don, so busy making sure everything is perfect and checking to make sure every single guest is ok and the staff. He is such a hard worker and it was always a joy to see his smiling face. Then we were blessed to have the most fabulous Butlers, Gregg (our main Butler) Angus, and Alden. Gregg was so professional and had a great sense of humour, he had us in stitches ! He takes real pride in everything he does, He knew what we wanted before we did. He even remembered returning guests from a couple of years ago and their room number ! It was always lovely too see Angus (remember to feed my cat) and Alden, always super cheerful and eager to assist us with anything. These guys are so professional and committed. The Great House ... don’t pay attention to other reviews that say the menu is repetitive, that’s nonsense. We stayed for 14 nights and never got through it as there is always a special on every night. The wonderful chef adapts and accommodates fussy eaters like myself. It must be great as I put on a stone in weight ! It wasn’t just the food that was awesome it’s the people. Being greeted by the beautiful Cathy and Tessa at meal times, so happy and welcoming. We truly feel like we have left friends/family behind. We were so lucky to be looked after by the beautiful Nagoya with her infectious laugh, Hannah and her awesome smile, Titti never letting my champagne glass sit empty, The wonderful Tyler(fab name) and Chaud “sit back and stretch your feet” These guys give 110% in their work, we miss them so much. A wonderful time to pass time is at the Serenity bar with Lee and Daisy. They make the best cocktails and are very entertaining, Lee will have you doubled up with laughter. Our room was immaculate thanks to Patrice and Rosey. Such wonderful ladies, after working so hard on making our room beautiful they would always find time to leave lovely messages and towel art. It doesn’t end there as every single member of staff you come across will greet you and offer assistance. They genuinely care that you are having a great time. It’s the workers that make this place PERFECTION. Trevor and his assistant making sure the grounds are ok, the guy in the tractor raking the sea grass away all day but still having time to wish us well, Jonathon always friendly and enthusiastic and willing to shimmy up the tree to get you a fresh coconut. I didn’t get to learn everyone’s name but honestly everyone is amazing from the cleaners, gardeners, security, shop all the way to the management. Now the concrete and water ... It is a truly beautiful place. Our Butler suite was perfect. There was a great selection of entertainment around the pool, our favourite being the steel band, these boys are fantastic. Over at coconut bay on a Saturday night is Caribbean night with a spectacular show with fire breathers ! We booked lots of amazing trips through the adventure desk, our favourite being the couples ATV tour with the awesome Maxwell, great fun. Rainforest zip lining was exhilarating, hiking the pitons (exhausting but rewarding) horse riding and all the amazing things we got with the romance package. Do you know what ? Stop reading this and book, you won’t regret it. We are already looking into returning next year to this perfect place with amazing people.

Serenity at Coconut Bay was a fantastic experience. Besides the romantic ambiance, the service is amazing. I'm not going to go into too many details since most of the reviews have covered all the beauty and amenities you get when you stay at Serenity. However, there are a few subjects I'd like to cover: First and foremost, the Butlers, along with all the staff, go out of their way to make you feel like you're the most important guests at their resort. Yes, they even iron your clothes for you. Every single staff member you come across knows you by name and it is clear they are thinking of you even when you're not directly in front of them. To offer an example of this: We had the beach cabana for a day which includes lunch. The Butler tells you to call on your butler phone as soon as you're ready to order (there is a lunch menu in your cabana). My wife and I decided to wait until around 1:00 pm to order our lunch. At noon, the butler returned. He said "since you haven't ordered lunch yet, I wanted to bring you a snack while you decide." He brought a plate of nachos and two different dipping sauces. One STRONG suggestion - if you're going to come here, make sure it's for at least seven nights. Seven nights or more earns you the Romance package, which was, by far, the best part of the vacation. I mention this because one couple we met stayed six nights. They missed out on this package by one night (and, frankly, the package's value is more than one night's stay). The romance package includes - A one hour couple's massage (which is supposed to take place in your suite, but you can request to have it at the spa itself), a Catamaran sunset cruise (note: the cruise is your opportunity to meet and interact with other Serenity couples. We actually made a few friends on the cruise). A butler comes on the cruise with you, constantly checking to see if you need anything. Someone jokingly said they'd like entertainment on the bus ride back to the resort. The butler responded by singing to us. No joke. There's an open bar and snacks as well on the boat. Just know that it's a barefoot boat, meaning they'll make you take your shoes and socks off before boarding. Also be aware the catamaran is quite rocky going out, but smooth coming back. As part of the romance package, you also get TWO DAYS in an amazing beach cabana (which has a shower and a staircase that leads to a swinging Queen sized bed and two lounge chairs and it's directly on the shore), a candlelit romance dinner (which I recommend doing on your final night as it's a perfect conclusion to a romantic week) and a PRIVATE interactive tour of St. Lucia. It's a thousand dollar value which really makes the vacation. The private tour was both my wife's favorite part and mine. Yes, it is private, just the two of you and the driver who has towels and drinks for you supplied by Serenity. Our tour guide was Danny-Boy who took our camera from us and doubled as our photographer throughout the trip. Honestly, you'll feel like your back at your wedding with the photographer taking constant pictures and even posing you to get the best shots possible. The tour starts with a trip to the lighthouse. Note: You don't actually go into the lighthouse, you're outside the lighthouse. However, the lighthouse is on a huge hill with amazing views. From there, you get a tour of the volcano, then the mud baths. Despite what you may be imagining, it's not actually a mud bath. You start off in a hot tub to wet your skin (be warned, it's REALLY hot). Then, you cover each other in white mud. After it settles on your skin, the tour guide paints you with black mud. Although you will have the opportunity to wash up, the mud really comes off afterwards when you are taken to the waterfall. Be forewarned that the water is slightly cool and the waterfall (which is 30 feet high) comes down STRONG...but it will remove the mud and makes for great photo ops. We both left the waterfall clean. The next stop is the botanical gardens and then a view of the Pitons. Our tour was just over six hours and, in-between locations, we got to see much of St. Lucia with much description and explanation from Danny-boy. Okay, back to the resort...here are a couple of things you should know which includes the good and the not so good - First, be warned, St. Lucia's sun is STRONG. If the furthest you've ever traveled is the Caribbean, then get ready...St. Lucia is in the West Indies which is closer to the equator. My wife and I used strong sunscreen and we lathered up a lot....despite this, we still burned. When you walk around, you feel like the sun is right against your skin. Also, while the pools are great (especially the Serenity pool), the water is heated from the sun. Even the beach water is warm. In fact, the only time we felt cold water against our skin was the waterfall. Keep in mind, I'm not saying this as a bad thing, I'm just offering a warning. If you're going to use the Serenity pool, either take advantage of the cabanas they have (if one is available, it usually was) or make sure your chair is under an umbrella. Limit your sun tanning time because that sun will burn you within minutes. One minor complaint is that the events taking place at Coconut Bay don't get a lot of advertisement on the Serenity side. On Tuesday nights, Coconut Bay has a Texan barbecue which was amazing. They had steak, ribs, chicken, pig, corn on the cob, mac and cheese, a huge salad and vegetable area and so much more. My wife and I have very different tastes in food and yet we both found plenty to eat (almost too many choices). However, it was just by coincidence we happened to find it. After a long tour, we decided to just eat at the Coconut Bay buffet and we discovered they were having this huge barbecue. What we discovered is that they also have a barbecue with a Caribbean theme on Saturday nights. We were encouraged to do the Serenity Caribbean night at the Great House. While every other meal we had at the Great House was, well, great, their Caribbean "buffet" on Saturday night was lacking. It was basically salad, chicken wings and a few other items. Did I mention how personalized the service is? Here's another example - I voiced a complaint to the Great House about the lack of steak options on their menu (besides Lamb Chops, which were really good but it was the only steak option) and the lack of chocolate options for dessert. The head chef, Roy, came out to hear my complaint. The next day was our candlelit dinner and Roy told me he was going to surprise me. Boy, did he. My dinner, which was prepared especially for me, was a delicious sirloin steak with an amazing beef gravy that was truly tasty. The special dessert for our dinner was chocolate lava cake. Talk about being catered to. I asked the butler if I could thank Roy personally. Roy came out and even took a picture with my wife and myself. The dirty banana - you will see a lot of reviews that talk about the dirty banana being everyone's favorite drink. It is that good. However, I found the banana daiquiri, and basically anything with banana, was just as good. It's because St. Lucia bananas are different than the bananas we get in the states. They are moist and EXTREMELY flavorful. You realize immediately they're different just from the way the peels come off (in pieces, they fall apart in your hands). I had a banana every single morning with breakfast and I actually looked forward to them while sad to know I won't be able to get them once I'm back home. Night time - be warned: your room is surrounded by tree frogs that screech all night. Pretty much from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am, you will hear thousands of tree frogs holding a "concert." They sound sort of like crickets only higher pitched. So, if you need quiet to fall asleep, they will make it difficult. Also, I think Serenity guests would benefit from black-out shades. The light gets through the shades they currently have and brightens the entire room, making it hard to sleep in. Bugs - Remember to pack bug spray. We used bug spray and bug bracelets. Despite never seeing the bugs, we still got bitten up. Other people, we noticed, were bitten up even worse than us. That means what we used, although not completely effective, helped somewhat. What we liked most was that Serenity and Coconut Bay truly have different feels to them. Staying at Serenity and visiting Coconut Bay, although they are on the same property, makes you feel like you're at two completely different resorts. Coconut Bay is a family-friendly atmosphere with music, a water park (two slides and a lazy river) pools with themes (one was a sports theme, one had a bar with a swim-up section for adults only and a swim-up section for kids only) and, overall, a fun time. There's even a petting zoo with some of the friendliest goats you'll ever meet. (although we got worried when one of them hopped the fence and tried to follow us back to Serenity. He looked very confused when we told him he had to stay. ha ha) Serenity's atmosphere, on the other hand, is quiet and romantic. Being able to go from one to the other added to the variety of the vacation and made the entire trip a complete package. Just make sure you're at Coconut Bay's bar pool on Friday at 2 pm for the foam party. You won't be disappointed. Finally, I want to mention Don, the manager of Serenity. The first time we met Don, he knew us by name. He takes the time to converse with his guests as he wants to make sure you're having a great time at his property. It seems the entire staff follows his lead as they all seem almost disappointed when they can't do something for you. All and all, you will be treated like royalty by every single staff member at Serenity. The hardest part of the trip is giving up that butler phone at the end when it's time to check out. After staying a week, you get used to having that sort of service at your fingertips where you press a button on the phone and, minutes later, someone arrives, ready to fulfill your requests. If you're going to this resort, prepare to be spoiled and pampered throughout your stay. It will be an experience like none other.
