Great long weekend stay at Villa Del Mar
Reviewed by rafaellaaleixo(Miami, Florida) on Mar 24, 2021
Had an extremely pleasant stay this past weekend at Villa Del Mar. Spacious and very comfortable room, apartment style, equipped with a mini kitchen and a laundry machine, which ended up being handy as trip was extended. A basic, continental breakfast was included every morning. Did not use the pool but did see people enjoying their time at the pool. The property is not located on the beach; however, the access to the beach is just a minute walk across the street to Grace Bay Beach and Villa Del Mar has a stand with chairs, umbrellas, and towels for guests to use. I want to point out how helpful and pleasant the staff is, in particular Wesline who worked at the reception in the evening during our stay. She was extremely professional, always greeted us with a warm smile and went above and beyond to help and provided great assistance and tips for what to do on the island. Overall, an excellent, pleasant long weekend stay. I will definitely return to Providenciales and stay at Villa Del Mar.
Should be more of a 8.0 not a 9

There are some pros and cons to staying here; not exactly sure why this place has a 9.1 rating on trip advisor. IMO more like an 8. Pros: big room, nice bed, covered balcony with seating. AC works great. Small kitchenette and washer/Dryer in unit. Across the street from the beach. Free parking. On-site pools. Great location. Cons: room has a musty smell. Items in kitchenette broken (coffee pot cracked and leaked everywhere). The free breakfast is a joke. Not worth any extra money to get a rate with free breakfast. The room itself is a combination of slightly updated and outdated. It doesn’t have the feel of luxury… Just kind of OK. The room is very dark and not all the light fixtures work. The bathroom has an unfinished feel. Shower water doesn’t get hot. Actual keys which I’m sure get lost all the time. For the money I definitely will stay somewhere else the next time I come to the island.

Generous Hospitality and Remarkable Service steps from the Beach

Villa del Mar is a hidden gem on Provo in Turks and Caicos! We spent a week here for R&R and couldn't have had a more wonderful stay. The island is beautiful, Grace Bay Beach is one of the most gorgeous in the world and this hotel exceeded our expectations for attentive and friendly service. It is rare that we write a hotel review, but this property really deserves it! While Villa del Mar is not on the beach, it has so many of the amenities of a beachfront property without the huge price tag. Villa del Mar is a few steps from the beach and has its own beachfront cabanas, lounge chairs and umbrellas, all masterfully attended by Kerone and his brother. We even were able to order drinks at the beach that were serviced by the Villa del Mar beach attendants. The property is beautiful, with two smaller pools and a hot tub in between. There were plenty of cushioned lounge chairs surrounding the pool areas. The outdoor areas were beautifully landscaped and manicured, even after the hurricane that came in right before our stay. For this visit to Turks and Caicos, it was only my husband and I visiting, so we opted for a studio room. Our studio room was tastefully and comfortably furnished with all that you would need for a visit here. The bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of comfy pillows. Our studio kitchen included granite counter, refrigerator, coffeemaker, toaster and microwave, all sparkling clean and ready for use. The cabinets and drawers were well stocked with cutlery, dishes and glasses for our use. and plenty of paper towels and dish detergent. The larger units included full-sized kitchen appliances and counters. We were delighted to see that the unit included a washer/dryer combo that allowed us to wash and dry our wet pool and beachwear daily. Villa del Mar even provided individual packs of laundry detergent! The furnishings were comfortable with plenty of seating and a lovely balcony for outdoor lounging and dining. The well-appointed bathroom included a separate walk-in shower and tub, perfect for the two of us. I especially liked the bathroom vanity with plenty of drawers for out-of-sight storage of cosmetics and toiletries. Breakfast was just what we needed. It included coffee, teas, juice and milk. Bread, fresh fruit and individual boxes of Kellogs cereal was plentiful and served with a smile. Some days we dined near the pool for breakfast and other days, we took a generous tray back to our room for in-room breakfast dining. The air conditioning was perfect and was suitable to my husband's penchant for ice cold room temperature. He was happy to see that a safe was installed for our use in one of the closets. There were two storage closets available, one with a hanging rod and one with shelves. The TV cabinet had storage for our books and brochures. Housekeeping accommodated our schedules and our needs. They were generous with towels and bathroom amenities and the housekeeper was friendly and most accommodating. This was one of the few hotels that we have visited where the daily housekeeping was thorough and professional. Katrina and her front office staff could not have been more outstanding. There was separate WIFI for room and pool use, each one secured with a strong signal. A computer and printer were available in the lobby for printing last-minute vouchers and boarding passes. Any small issues that we addressed were dealt with quickly and efficiently and the staff made us feel like they really cared to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. They cretainly went beyond the call of duty! We felt safe and secure at this hotel, especially with all the COVID19 precautions that the hotel and staff adhered to and enforced professionally and in a friendly manner. There were hand sanitizer stations placed strategically throughout the property and staff wore masks and adhered to social distancing policies. This was a week that we will never forget. We felt pampered and enjoyed excellent service in gorgeous surroundings. Thank you, villa del Mar!!

Clean rooms, all have balconies facing a pool (two). Access road to beach is less than a block walk. Having towels/umbrellas/water available there from dedicated concierge was helpful. Was NOT crowded on beach (windy some days) and we were always able to have a front row chair. Staff are friendly. Easily walkable to tons of restaurants. Very nicely maintained grounds. Happy Hour at hotel in afternoon and light breakfast (breads, fruit, cereal) daily. Ran out of pool towels one day, but otherwise a terrific place.
