Had an absolutely great week at this resort. All staff friendly and attentive. Restaurants great. One downside - booked a romantic meal on the beach for our 50th anniversary. V.good until party boat turned up on beach to unload passengers. W. Indian music full blast for 20 mins. Killed the ambiance. St Lucia next week. Hope just as good.

We had an incredible time here. A photographer by the name of Delmore is highly recommended as he actually made out time there so enjoyable by showing us around and just making us laugh. Niecer who is part of entertainment is probably the most amazing down to earth person I’ve met and also made our stay at sandals so much more amazing. She’s great at what she does so if you get the change to talk to her take it. We also really liked Janet from Barefoot by the Sea restaurant. She smiled and went out of her way for us. If I have any criticism thought it would be that the staff in Antigua are not as Smiley and friendly (except those listed above) as we experienced when we went to Sandals in St. Lucia. I would also say it’s a bit of an older crowd here compared to St. Lucia. I’m 29 and my wife is 26 and we met one couple our age or under. All in all we had the time of our lives and we plan to come back to sandals again and again as they all have something unique to offer

We stayed at Sandals Grand Antigua for our first Sandals experience and it didn’t disappoint! We loved every minute of it. From our fantastic beachfront rondoval, to our extraordinary butlers (team Karen, Marlyne, and Kevin) to the great and unlimited food and drinks....we had the BEST time. We even booked another vacation for next year at another Sandals resort before we left! Highly recommend this resort—clean, fun, relaxing, very attentive and friendly staff with wonderful beach and pools!

My family just got home from a week at Sandals Antigua. We have been to many Sandals resorts but this was our first time at Sandals Antigua. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the resort. Here's our perspective on where this resort excels, and where it falls flat. The areas in which the resort excel are important to me, which is why my overall rating is a four. The Great The property is truly beautiful. The beach is very spacious, with plenty of great swimming and boating space. The beach is also very quiet (no loud music blasting from the resort) so you can definitely relax. The foliage on the resort is perfectly maintained, not a flower out of place. I found myself admiring the grounds every single day. There were plenty of pools (of different noise levels) and many hot tubs, so we could always find the right pool / hot tub for our current mood. The rooms are excellent. We stayed in the Mediterranean section (newer section). We weren't supposed to have views of the ocean, but we all did. The rooms felt new, well maintained, and very clean. The beds were firm and comfortable. We've been to many resorts, and the food here was just as good as others, with plenty of variety and flexibility. The Mario's breakfast buffet and the Bayside lunch buffet were excellent..Really everything we could have wanted from those meals were offered at those buffets. The dinners were tasty, with our favorite meals at Barefoot. We were always able to substitute / add things to entrees so we got exactly what we wanted. And, the Paris Cafe was a delicious spot for ice cream and cookies at any time of day. For improvement, we wish we could have a) had sushi for lunch and b) had fish tacos from OK Corral at lunchtime. The Okay The spa was underwhelming, and pricey. My husband and I had a couples massage, and my mom had a 60 minute massage. We all left the experience feeling like the spa did not meet expectations, given the cost. We went to the spa at Sandals Ochi and had the same treatments, and enjoyed them much, much more. So, Sandals Antigua should either better train their staff, or reduce pricing. I do not recommend anyone gets a massage service here. We're a family of divers and snorkelers. The dive shop here was okay, but not great. They wouldn't let us store our equipment in the shop (which we could do in Sandals Ochi). We also had a dive leader on one dive who grabbed a lobster by the antenna and wrestled it out from under the reef. This is a BIG no no, and I'm saddened a staff member would mistreat wildlife like that. The dive and snorkel boats also anchor on the reefs, a terrible practice for reef conservation (they should use a mooring line). And, all the dives were solid 30-45 minute boat rides away from the resort, making a 2-tank dive last from 9-2pm. That's a really long time. If you're a serious diver / snorkeler, you'll be disappointed by the reefs and the dive outlet's practices here. The staff at the resort was hit or miss. Many were very friendly (Sylvia at the Paris Cafe!) but others seemed to have an attitude when we asked for something, like more coffee at breakfast. That's not right. Sandals staff are typically very friendly and warm, so we were disappointed to see some attitude coming from certain staff members. The Terrible No Tennis or Athletic Pro. My mom always loves hitting around with the tennis pros at Sandals, and she takes the yoga classes and pool classes. Upon arrival, we were told there was no athletic staff available (even though this was sold to us upon purchasing). It felt deceitful. They should have a backup option in the case the Pro or lead can't be there. This was missing during our entire week's stay. The tennis courts are plastic. The ball doesn't bounce on the court at all. If you like tennis, you'll be disappointed by the quality of the court. Not enough chairs/seats in the am. It's not okay to have to wake up at 5am to reserve chairs on the beach. There should be more chairs made available in the shade, as those got booked up immediately.
