We stayed at the Tamarijn for 2 weeks and we absolutely loved it! We flew with TUI and they check you in on the bus which is great as you don’t have to mess about in long lines at reception and luggage is taken straight to your room. We were in room 1501 which is about the 3rd block from the pool - perfect location! The rooms are very clean and spacious and have everything you need. Even have USB ports to charge your phones in the alarm clock. Bathroom was great had a nice walk in shower and large mirror with hair dryer, shampoo and body wash is provided. Our room was cleaned daily and towels changed daily too if requested. The view is amazing!! All rooms at the Tamarijn are directly on the beach it’s absolute paradise! The resort is so chilled and there is no stress to get a sun lounger like some places I’ve stayed. The food is amazing too! I’m not a fan of buffets in hotels but the buffet here is gorgeous and there’s something for everyone. The restaurants are great too - red parrot was our favourite it’s a lovely atmosphere and really pretty setting. The staff at the Tamarijn really make this place extra special. Andrea who works in the pool bar is so lovely, nothing was ever too much for the staff here. I’ve seen reviews of the rooms being dated etc and although they aren’t the newest of decor they are still lovely and in my opinion if you come all the way to a beautiful island such as Aruba and spend all your time in the room - stay at home!! We’ve loved it here and would deffo recommend - much better than the high rise especially for the beach views and chilled atmosphere. We will be back next year for sure!!

Review of Tamarijn and Divi Resort....the good and the bad.

When we first arrived to Tamarijn Resort, the check in was fairly quick. The reception explained everything to us, plus gave us a bag with two water bottles. Those water bottles were awesome. We were able to fill the water at the coolers that are all over the resort. We were able to make dinner reservations fairly easy. Never had to wait on line to speak to anyone. ROOM: we stayed at the lower number section....the section is rooms 1200-1400. this is basically towards the beginning of the hotel where it connects you to Divi resort. There are rocks outside of these rooms. We did not mind as it was more quiet in this section. I felt like i was in a private beach. You can walk out of your room and tan right in front of your room. You can walk to the water, but you should wear water shoes since you will have to walk on the rocks to get into the water. This section is closer to the bars and restaurants. You can get a room in the higher number, where there are less rocks and more powdery like sand but a further walk to the bars. The room was small. We ended up getting two queen bed instead of a king, which we didnt mind since we ended up using 1 bed for our clothes and stuff. The room and bathroom was small but clean. Some reviews indicated how bad the rooms were, but honestly its really not what they said it was. It was clean. It was comfy and had really strong cold AC! Has a safe and a mini fridge. The rooms are a tad outdated but i didnt mind as long as it was clean! Food/bar: The bars were good at both Divi and Tamarijn resort. Both had nice drinks and decent snacks. The buffet was pretty good. However, the restaurants really needs a reality check. We ate at the red parrot (italian), ginger (asian), purelime (mexican) for dinner. I cannot say any of the restaurants were all that great. It was okay....it wasnt horrible it wasnt disgusting. It was just okay. There is room for improvement that's for sure! I think if the food was better at this resort, i would give it a 10 out of 10. I felt it was like a 7/8 out of 10. I really don't have any other complaints besides the food at the restaurants. The bar had nice stiff drinks. The staff were nice and friendly. If you're at the beach or pool, you have to go get your own drinks at the bar and bring straws! they do not provide straws. There's an espresso machine in the room which was nice. One day i took a plate of food from the buffet to the room and no one said anything to me so don't feel awkward doing so. There is also NO room service. I've been spoiled with room service in the other all inclusives i've been to!

Have not long been back from the Tamarijn for a family holiday , we were so disappointed. Arrived with Tui, great idea to check you in on the coach from the airport to the hotel , after a long flight you want a speedy check.in. Im afraid after that it went downhill. Rooms: rooms are seaview and views are beautiful, would have been nice to have a balcony with some privacy. Everytime we came out of our balcony so did ,4 other families and not that we are unsociable but would have been nice to sit out have a glass of wine and a chat without everyone else trying to listen in and us being able to hear there conversations , no privacy, very strange no private divide between balconies (see my pic) we had very creaky wardrobe doors which im sure woke the neighbours at night and in the mornings, and loud creaky draws. We even had neighbours leaning over our balcony and looking in our room,my teens had neighbours who thought nothing of strolling around naked in there rooms doors and curtains wide open , whilst my two are sitting on there own balcony,so each to there own but no privacy. Concierge: to book restaraunts it opens at 8am but the person who books that in also books trips so you could be in the que for a while ,its ridiculous they need two people one on each thing. You can also only book two nights at at a time which.we found very tedious getting there for 8am to make sure you get booked in. Why cant you call from your room to book. Buffet restaraunt was ok staff rude , never happy not a great vibe. Paparazzi restaraunt , we booked for 8pm got there about 12 people waiting and one person in front of us ,nobody came and said anything to any of us we asked man in front what time he was booked in for he said 8.30pm , then doris came along and showed him to his seat, my husband said to her we were booked in for 8pm how is this working as it wasnt worth people booking if shes not looking at the times she told him rudely I know my job, he then said its not working and she says im not talking to you, and gave us evils for the rest of the night. If she is front of house she needs some lessons in how to smile and customer service. Shocking. behaviour. The Asian restaraunt : My husband had a dead fly sitting on the end of his knife upon sitting at the table, we complained the chef came out with someone and said its a fly we get flies, that may well be but you dont want it stuck on the end of your knife before you even get your meal etc made you wonder what the kitchenware was like . Would have walked out but gave them benefit of doubt. Food was cold ,another disappointment we should have walked out after fly gate. Most of the staff at Tamarijn were rude, especially reception staff. Didnt seem like they wanted to be there, not good customer service . Evenings were an eye opener, now explains why reception seating isxso grubby and stained. If bar was busy we sat in reception area with drinks on sofas , whilst we were there a group of about 8 kids no older than 12, running riot in reception , jumping all over sofas, a couple of them swore at my 11 year old who was just sitting with us ,when confronted you got a whole load of abuse, reception staff turn a blind eye nobody pulls the kids up for jumping all over sofas , parents nowhere to be seen as they are busy drinking at bar, ive no problem with that everyones entitled to let there hair down on holiday but control your kids. Witnessed drunk guys falling in swimming pool at night , narrowly missing cracking there heads open on side of pool ,again staff turn a blind eye , saw a guy with young family smoking a drugs around the pool couldnt miss it he carried it around in a clear zip lock bag ,the smell wafting to my sunbed , loads of people were commenting but yet again hotel turned a blind eye and he did it daily ,evening as well ,never saw any security in this hotel the whole two weeks we were there. Not great when your on holiday with your kids and family. Thank god we were able to use Divi all inc,as well we spent most of the holiday there as we couldnt stand being in Tamarijn. Beach at Tamarijn was ok but we were again bit disappointed , due to erosion was very narrow, and rocky in places so again spent beach days at Divi all inc. People in rooms below us used to sit out on there terrace until 3am , getting drunk Which is fine but they were shouting and being really loud ,arguing etc ,most nights this happened for two weeks so our sleep was always broken. We need a holiday to get over this holiday. Such a different vibe at Divi , lovely wide beach ,happy staff and generally in bettet shape ,if your contemplating aruba ,stay there or anywhere apart from Tamarijn. The only restaurant in Tamarijn we had lovely staff was palm grill. Bar staff had attitude at both bars .Served Americans first (no offence to Americans but hey its not the only nationality at the hotel) I cant express enough how disappointed we were with this hotel and its service .Would never go back even if we were offered it for free. Tui should take it off there portfolio as its giving them a bad name.

The main reason why we booked this resort was for the beachfront room. I booked on cyber Monday & got a good deal. I knew prior to going that the rooms would be basic & small, we're a family of 3 & space was tight. I asked to be in the 1900 building, but they had no rooms available upon arrival & said to check back the next day, when I did they only had king bed rooms which wouldn't work for us. So we had a bottom floor end unit room in the 1700 building, which was fine. Free wifi at the resort which worked pretty good in most areas. It was so nice to be able to walk out onto the beach, never had a problem getting a hut. I just didn't realize how rocky the beach is, some areas you couldn't even get into the ocean, you have to find little spots so you can get into the water. I would suggest requesting a room 1800 building & higher(if you don't mind walking a little to the pool & main bar area) .. that part of the beach had easier access to the ocean. I would recommend packing water shoes. The beach was beautiful , just too many rocky areas. They have the bunker bar the beach which was closed for remodeling , but they did set up a "make shift" bar on the beach until the bunker reopens. which was great right by our room ! I didn't see any security guards, and was approached walking back to our room one night by a man who wanted to probably sell us drugs, scared my daughter, I didn't like that at all, they should have security patrolling the beach at night. If you like to exercise, the gym was very nice facing the ocean with newer equipment. Upon arrival they give you water bottles you can fill up at multiple water stations all over the hotel ,the water is safe to drink. The food & drinks were good for all inclusive, we enjoyed the bar where you can order pizzas. The pool is on the smaller side, but it was ok we didn't use it much. There is a shuttle which will take you to the other resort the Divi & the casino. The hotel has nightly entertainment, but it's a pretty low key resort & area. The high rise area is busier & has more shopping & bars. We love Aruba & come often trying different resorts. I don't think I would go back to the Tamarijn again, we stayed at Divi before & would probably go there.

Just finished a week long stay with our family renting four rooms at the Tamarijn. The staff was very nice and the housekeeping service was great Two out of the four rooms have a heavy mold smell rooms 1317 and 1313 The rooms are dated with stained dirty paint and loose faucets room 1302 The resort is dated Drug dealers walking behind the beach front rooms asking if we need ganja or coke 3 out of the seven days Only saw one security guard checking lower beach front rooms the whole week Four beautiful pools but you can only use the one main crowded one because the other three are for the time share people. The front desk told us we can use the pool but not the chairs and if a time share guest asks you to leave then you have to leave. It's so humiliating to be put below time share people when also paying a lot of money at the resort. Sirens all night long this resort is on the main road and the police and ambulances have to go by the resort. Bring lots of $ 5.00 bills you will need this to get fast service at the bars Ignorant guests cut in front you at the buffet and pin their towels to the the best lounge chairs located at the water for the entire week so no one else can use them without a battle and the staff does nothing about this.
