This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel before departing Barbados on a cruise. It is beautifully situated on a nice, white sand beach. We arrived at 4 p.m., but did not gain access to our room until after 8:30 p.m. And we were not the only ones who could not get into our rooms—several other couples had the same issue. They gave us drinks and dinner while we waited. But, still, the thing you want to do after an arduous day of travel is relax, change from travel clothes to swim suit, and enjoy the beach or pool. They never provided any satisfactory explanation for the delays. And, frankly, if I had not tipped the desk clerk $20, I’m not sure I would ever have gotten into a room. The hotel is lovely, although a bit “tired.” Bur after having had two unsatisfactory experiences here, We will find another place to stay on our next Barbados trip.

Booked an oceanfront room for the week of Thanksgiving. First the good. The hotel lobby, grounds, and beach are beautiful. There's a lovely pool with a waterfall and swim up bar. The beach is gorgeous and chairs and umbrellas are provided. The staff in the lobby are very friendly and willing to help. The biggest plus is the location. Accra is located directly across the street from shops and restaurants, and there is a taxi stand right next door. The local buses are also a short walk. There is a lot to access within walking distance of the hotel. Now the bad. The hotel rooms especially the bathrooms are in serious need of an renovation. The light inside the bathroom is very dim, so using the mirror is not very useful. The shower knob operates weird. I called the front desk and told them our shower was not working. The told me I had to pull out the handle, which was loose and swiveling, and turn it to the left or right, and then it worked. The worst part was no wash cloths were provided. We had to call on almost a daily basis and request wash cloths, which was annoying! The housekeeper told my friend that the hotel was going to be phasing them out which seemed ridiculous. How do they expect people to bathe? We would shower and leave two washcloths, and then when we returned to our room, only one wash cloth was left. Were we supposed to share one washcloth? Most annoying was there was no hot water in the shower after 7 p.m. I had to go to bed one night with salt water on my body and in my hair because the water in the shower was too cold to bathe with. When I complained about it, I was told that they would have an engineer check it for me which also seemed ridiculous. When it happened another time, they told me I could come down and speak to the manager, who apologized and offered us several free breakfasts and a free dinner. The meals were good, but I would have preferred to be able to take a hot shower in the evening, or at anytime. There's an air conditioning unit in the room which is complicated to operate and no blankets provided on the beds. We had to call and request blankets because it was too cold and uncomfortable to sleep with just one thin sheet over you. The closet doors would not stay shut, they kept sliding open. The terrace door was hard to lock. There were an insufficient number of outlets to charge your phone and devices. We had an oceanfront room which afforded us a beautiful view, but the deck chairs were low wooden chairs, and very heavy to move. In summary, Accra has the potential to be a very beautiful resort, but they need to renovate their rooms and fix the hot water situation. Shout out to bartender Paul and front desk person Lisa who were both very nice to us.

We received a lovey welcome from the reception staff and a nice glass of rum punch! Four of us check into the hotel at the same time, but our luggage was lefted at reception but other guess luggage was delivered to there rooms, i had to bring my own luggage to my room. We went for dinner we was greeted by an unfriendly lady, who show us to our table and gave us a drinks menu. We order 2 bottles of water and got some food which we didn't enjoy, but didn't complain about it. The entertainment that night was very good and the host was very friendly and welcoming, not like the other staff working that night .We got back to our room and the phone rang, a rude lady on the phone said, you didn't pay for your drinks and you have to pay now, i said no problem i will come down to the reception. When i got to the reception the young girl was marching toward my room with a card reader in her hand with another man, i called her to come over to the reception where i was standing, and she told me that i had to paid for two bottles of water like i was a thief. I explain that i didn't realize that we needed to pay for our drinks, there and then, or we would have paid 100%.... Most hotels we have stayed at, we would usually just settle our bill at the end of our stay. This situation should have been handle differently and more professional, so i paid the waitress and she lefted, i was not happy with the treatment we received at this hotel, it was unacceptable and we couldn't wait to leave.

The hotel is undergoing some updating so we had a problem with rooms (we had booked 4) when we arrived and had to spend a couple of days at another hotel which we had stayed at before and knew was fab so not really a problem. The main reason for staying at the Accra is the location. It's ideal if you have a wide age group as there is plenty in the area to suit all. The rooms were immaculate and the general manager is superb. All the staff were excellent apart from one (who I don't think was Bajan). I would definitely stay here again

We were originally booked to stay at another hotel near st lawrence gap, however due to a booking error with TUI we were allocated this hotel on arrival at the airport. We found this hotel a great base for commuting around barbados, the location is great with some fab bars and restaurants around. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very clean. We had a room overlooking the carpark and road, however this did not bother me at all I loved sitting on the balcony watching all the comings and goings outside, we were not affected by the noise from the road at all. The beachfront is absolutely stunning and the pools have ample space and loungers. All in all we had a great stay at this hotel and cant fault it at all, in the end we were pleased we'd been relocated here and wouldnt hesitate in staying here again should we visit Barbados in the future.
