I went there in 2017 and let me tell you it was amazing. The waves was big and the food is amazing and the fish was amazing as well.
You cant unsee what you see here-

This excursion was offered through the Grand Memories resort I stayed at. It wasn't overly pricey for the day long trip that included a lobster dinner at another resort after. The beach itself is definitely worth seeing. and Ernest Hemmingway was right when he claimed it to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I had a refreshing pineapple drink prepared right on the beach and the excursion included a chair rental - so i brought a book and some music and spent the day getting RnR, Something all vacations could use. It wasnt overly packed with tourists.. but it wasn't a ghost town either. It was a perfect day for sun and photo worthy pictures.

Nice to go there to swim and have a pique-nique. Quiet place. 45 min. to an hour from the Melia Cayo Coco. You can go by bus for 5 pesos or rent a car for 24 hours.
Great place to visit,I go and visit every time I go to the area.

I have been visiting this place for years,every time it’s a great place to spend the day. Beautiful safe beach with everything needed for the day. Excursion to the offshore island is well worth it, Hobe cat ride out and back plus a great lunch included.

If you are Cayo coco , you absolutely must visit playa pilar ... the Sand is vast and beautiful , soft as powder. The juxtaposition against the beautiful teal and emerald water is worth seeing... You can hire a driver from most local hotels for 5 cuc
