    Beautiful location and space, but extremely unorganized

    Before I get into our very poor check-in experience and other customer service issues, the hotel over the course of the week earned it's way back to 3 stars because it is simply in a perfect location, has a beautiful pool area and was reasonably priced for the quality. However, our initial experience with the hotel was not so great. When we first got into our room we noticed that it was a two bed room. I immediately pulled out my phone and verified that my reservation that I made 6 months prior said King Ocean View. When I called about it, the front desk told me that there were no king beds available. I pointed out that I made my reservation 6 months prior and this vacation is my wife's and mine first in a long time so it better get fixed. After 20 minutes they said the same thing and offered me a one night resort credit for the stay. I told them, probably not in the nicest way, that I am either getting a king ocean view or my entire stay will be need to be free, because I made my reservation a half year prior and their solution is not going to cut it. After another 10 minutes a got a call from a manager who told me that king room was now available. That was not a good start. Then, the elevator screen and the hallway screen had a variety of events listed that seemed really interesting. My wife took a photo of the schedule and when she asked at the front desk for more information they told her they didn't know anything about it. We found the ukulele lessons, but that is because the shop itself (5 star rating in another review) had the information posted. Overall it was a great hotel and if our check-in wasn't so terrible it likely would have been 5 stars.

    Sheraton Waikiki goes back to Top of List for Waikiki Area. Have history here, Hyatt, Hilton. The newly remodeled Sheraton is clearly at Top of List. Spectacular infinite pool, direct Waikiki beach access, and a very modern lobby/shopping pavilion. No need for car; Uber everywhere from this fabulous location. Plus, if you can, take advantage of Club Level for a Million Dollar View of Waikiki. Hoping to help "Sheraton" re-open in June!!!!

    Overall excellent stay.All staff were fantastic. Rumfire staff always happy and smiling. Rod R. and Elaine were standouts. Food was very good with a lot of variety. Font desk staff always helpful.Rooms are finishing a major renovation.

    Lobby is very clean and immaculate and there are so many stores to visit throughout the breeze way. Staff was very helpful with directions and instructions on how to get around the island. Rooms were very clean and modern. The beds were amazing!! The best sleep I have ever had in a hotel was here. On the ocean side there was a beautiful infinity pool with access to the beach and tiki bar. I will never stay anywhere else in Waikiki.

    Travelled with a few friends on vacation and spent a few days in Waikiki-this was immediately prior to lockdowns due to COVID-19. Only a few things that were deficient but otherwise overall a nice stay. Check in was easy for the two rooms I had booked. Another friend decided to join at the last minute and Reggie from the front desk spent a considerable amount of time trying to make sure we were all situated near each other in rooms with great views. This was much appreciated. Unfortunately room service and a couple of the outlets were closed due to lower occupancy resulting from COVID. The rooms were on the small side but very clean, and modern, and as mentioned views of Diamond Head and the beach were spectacular. Bathrooms had high tech Japanese toilets and balcony was a decent size with nice seating. The property is expansive with some nice shops, and is very well situated in Waikiki with an easy walking distance to main areas. We were given complimentary drink vouchers which we enjoyed at Rum Fire in the afternoon after a beach day. Beach was as expected however there was very limited seating/umbrellas for rent and the larger pool area was the same. Despite signs saying that chairs that were vacant with belongings on them would only be held for a limited time, it seemed that at the jam packed adults only pool, that this was not being enforced as I saw couples leaving and returning hours later to their chairs with shopping bags etc. It seems like this hotel shares its pool with sister properties and the adult pool is really too small to accommodate this number of people. The lounge chairs are literally shoulder to shoulder. Impossible to enjoy with no privacy or space. Large pool has similar issues but was worse as construction for the renos was still ongoing and between that and screaming children made this pool noisy and unpleasant to sit. The outdoor bathrooms adjoining were also unfortunately filthy dirty. Moving on, by contrast the Club Lounge was very nice, with lots of seating, amazing views and a good selection of food. Drink selection was ok however wines were not very high end and this could be improved. It is also extremely busy. The hotel would benefit from disallowing access to be purchased and limit it to Elite members and guests in premium rooms only. The main problem was during the stay we had a security incident with one of our rooms where a room attendant had gone in while we were absent to leave a welcome gift for me (as the Titanium elite guest), and not only went into my friends room rather than mine, but then left the door to the room propped open while vacant after dropping the gift, for presumably a couple of hours. Fortunately neither of my friends found anything missing but I found their door ajar and was able to enter the room while vacant myself. I received profound apologies from management and the security team initiated an investigation. Lounge access was granted to the rest of the group as compensation however I had to request the manager to offer a good will gesture. Housekeeping was also very good and the Bell Desk were helpful. All in all it's a nice property and I would return, but would book a larger rooms and the atmosphere would be more pleasant when renovations are finally finished.
