It was awesome but it isn’t my go to for Vegas

I literally LOVED this resort! If you look through my previous reviews, I’ve definitely stayed at my fair share of places in Vegas. Mandalay Bay pretty much has it all in one place. Initially I was slightly discouraged by the pricing, but it ended up being well worth it. For those who don’t want to walk the strip, this hotel checks those boxes. It pretty much has it all. The gentleman at the check in desk was pleasant and allowed me to check in early with no fees. I’d already been in Vegas for 3 days on business by the time I checked in so I was beyond appreciative. The room was great, casino floor was awesome, tons of restaurants and shops and it was just a good time! My only complaint is the mini fridge!!! I found it frustrating the fridge in the room was just for the mini bar items. I’m sorry… 12$ for a 12 ounce can on soda is utter nonsense, there is literally zero excuse other than they can. No one likes to feel ripped off. If you want to keep any of your items cold on your room, it will require a cooler. Fine if you’re driving in from SoCal, but overall a fail. 52$ a night on report fees and then no fridge?? Not to mention to resort fees are already a rip off. Pool fees when it’s not pool season lol. Frustrating, but UGH Vegas. Plenty of other hotels on the strip, more centrally located that will at least give you an option of a fridge to house your morning caffeine without charging you 1$ per ounce for it. Even resorts world has the fridge split in half. One half is over priced whatever and you get a small enough space to stash a drink. Not at Mandalay Bay! Amenities inside the resort, top tier! Gaming floor was awesome and I had a good time. Gift shops weren’t over priced and House of Blues was as amazing. Mandalay Bay wouldn’t be my go to place in Vegas, but overall it was a great experience.
Terrible Customer Experience

Yeah, it's a fancy resort, and it's among the more expensive, but it's just not worth it. I'm barely 4 hours into the trip and I'm regretting the decision to stay here already. My key card has failed twice, and I was told to wait on a long check-in line to reactivate it. What was even more disappointing is that I found out my key card didn't work when I was turned away from the pools because they are closing three hours early for a private event. Mandalay boast about how great it's pool is, but you wouldn't know based on the dejected look of the 100 or so people who were ushered out of the pool area to accommodate whoever bought the whole thing out and caused it to close early. Apparently the pool is not covered in the resort fee either, so there's no concession there. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else that cares about it's guests and doesn't haphazardly deny access to the amenities that caused you to book in the first place.
