Great Tour Guide!

As a follow up to our review a couple of weeks ago we wanted to share our recommendation for Raymond as a great tour guide to Montego Bay and beyond; Raymond picked us up at the Resort for our trip to airport and we had a bit of extra time to spend in Montego Bay before going into the airport so Raymond took us to a number of key tourist locations. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable ! He can be reached at 876-817-0554, thank you again Raymond!

We are Club members and stayed at the Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites from March 10-17. This was our 5th time to the Iberostar Rose Hall, with our prior visits being to the adults-only Grand. I was a bit worried that the experience wouldn’t live up to prior experiences, but I was happy with the quality and service provided at the Suites. Check-in: We got in at night and check-in at the Prestige Club was quick and easy. Check-out was also easy. The room: We stayed in Room 4417 which had a great view of the ocean and property. Room service did a great job each day. We did not book this resort to be in the room much, we slept and spent the 1.5 hours between beach and dinner inside the room, other than that we barely entered the room. The A/C worked well, to the point we were cold at night and had to shut it off. Refrigerator was restocked with soft drinks, beers and juice. The beach: We spent every day at The Club area section of the beach. The team there was on point and did a phenomenal job. Respect to Leroy, Anica and D for their hard work in making sure our beds were setup and the drinks kept coming. I have to give credit to Iberostar for expanding The Club beach area, the improvements make a big difference. The new bar with snacks is clutch for an early morning coffee and a mid-day snack. We enjoyed snorkeling and saw so many different kinds of sea life from puffer fishes to baby stingrays. The food: We ate at the buffet every morning; the food was good with many options for adults and kids. Even the pickiest eater could find something to eat. I loved the local fruits and the fresh soursop juice. For lunch we ate jerk chicken with peas and rice, festival and beef patties from the Rose Hall Beach. Dinner reservations are no longer required which we were worried about however, it turned out to be no problem. We ate late lunches and got snack from the Star Café which allowed us to wait until 8pm to eat dinner, we had no problems being seated. Here is our feedback on each restaurant. Aunt Ruby Steak & Seafood – We ate here twice and both times left satisfied. The filets were cooked perfectly, and the lobster was delicious. The blooming onion and calamari were good appetizers. The location is another great aspect of this restaurant as it is located near the beach and has an open air design. Uncle Tony’s Smoke House (Rose Hall Beach) – This place caught us by surprise in a good way. Jaleel was a great server and his smile and personality were infectious. The food is served family style with everything coming on one platter. Cream corn, empanadas, fries, coleslaw, bbq chicken, pulled pork, brisket (our favorite), and sausage and you can get seconds! For desert, the banana cake was the star of the show, it is a must try. We left there stuffed and yes, we returned a second time. Hands down our favorite of our stay. Sole Mio Italian – The service was great here our server was so friendly and made our experience a good one. The food was decent but nothing to brag about. We all got pastas and for desert we had panna cotta and tiramisu. Olivetti Italian (Rose Hall Beach) – We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, which is no problem. The challenge we had was the service. It was slow and unfriendly. I don’t need to be treated special but I do expect a server and hostess to at least smile. The appetizers are served in a buffet style which we didn’t like as some things were gone quickly and not replaced. The saving grace was the main dishes which were all very good. Star Café: The best, 24-hour snacks, sandwiches, beef patties and coffees. My kids love this place and so do I. We spent our last hour here eating all the treats so we didn’t have blow money on overpriced fast food at the airport. Shout out to the hard working men an women at the café. The Spa: We all got 50-min Swedish massages on Wednesday which was the perfect way to start our day. The tiny bit of stress I was holding onto after 2 days on the beach was erased. The 2 pool areas which includes a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, roman bath and cold well pool were my favorites. I spent an hour a day there. Access to these pools are a great benefit of being a Club member. Our special stars: Fitzroy was a pleasure to have as an ambassador. He exemplifies the service that Iberostar is known for. He was there for our check-in, walked us to our rooms (with our baggage), provided his WhatsApp and was responsive to all our needs. He checked-in on us daily at The Club beach section and assisted us in getting seated for dinner. He made our stay special and deserves recognition along with the other ambassadors. Thank you all so much. Amoya. This woman made my family and I feel super special and made our vacation unforgettable. She went above and beyond to ensure my family was treated well. We enjoyed getting to know her and laughing with her daily. The connection we shared was not common. She is the reason we upgraded our membership and the reason we will be returning in October and for years to come. Thank you for making our vacation special Amoya and we cannot wait to see you again soon.
Amazing family vacation!

Amazing vacation! This was our second time staying at this resort, and again, we had zero complaints (4 adults, 2 kids ages 3 and 6 years old). The grounds are spotless and stunning, and the staff is very friendly and kind. There are lots of food/restaurant options - lots of variety at the buffet, and the restaurants do not have to be reserved in advance, so that made it really easy and convenient with the kids. Our favourite was the Asian restaurant - delicious! We loved the beach, pools and entertainment. The hotel is a close drive to the airport. We absolutely loved our stay there and highly recommend it!

We have been to 25 different all inclusives and know our way around the ‘games’ we are polite- great tippers and ready to have fun! The service is painfully slow - the rooms are just plain yuck- so gross my kids didn’t want to shower - mildew and mold everywhere with a nasty smell- bartenders take 20-30 min to get to you EVEN for a $20 tip- it’s truly unreal. Dinner took 2 hours and the food was not good- just eat at the buffet- it’s the same food just played and takes ages. So slippery everywhere - we watched at least 10 people fall. The star camp staff are bright stars they shine bright! Every other staff member interactions were straight up painful- we are super social and fun and traveled with a fun group of 7- the staff move like turtles they don’t wanna be here! We have been to Jamaica 7 times and love the people - this time was so different :( I would encourage you to go to Negril if you want a good vacation
