    5/17-5/24 my Wife and I were treated to an extraordinary peaceful time at Zoetry. From the General Manager Saul to our Butler Extraordinaire Nicholas to our private waiter Nicholas"2" from coffee with Stacey(the best Blue Mountain) Duwayne the 'SHA SHA CHAs" this was 7 days of destressing and peace to be rembered for a Lifetime and a reminder of *Life is beautiful" we will be back!

    These were the own words of the butler who greeted us as he showed to us our Suite with Ocean views... he was so right about the entire experience. We recently purchased a membership to Unlimited Vacation Club at AM Resorts. Until today, we've been extremely satisfied with our experiences at Secrets Playa Mujeres (Cancun, MX) where we got married and celebrated our wedding anniversary. My rating of Zoetry Montego Bag is solely based on that experience, one that we were told, can only be surpassed by the Zoetry Resorts Experience. The outstanding: There is one staff member in this property who deserve recognition for his never ending passion to make guests feel great: Mr Sunshine (beach drinks). The positives: Location, very nice, secure and quiet property in Montego Bay. The place offers unlimited, quiet beach experience. This is a place where one can relax and recharge, away from the hectic schedule(s) of other bigger hotels in the area. The property is clean, the rooms have comfortable bedding, good air conditioning and the walls offer good noise reduction. The property offers lunch by the beach (grilled chicken) which is delicious and by far, the best dish offered in the property. Vast variety of spirits. The neutrals: While the property appears to be new, there are several places where things are already rundown (staircase steps, stair handrails). There are 3 restaurants in the property and a coffee bar. The negatives: Service here is bad, it improves when the Hotel Manager is around and it drops dramatically when the he is not The staff here lacks basic training - in general, the attitude is lazy and condescending. The general attitude here whenever the staff messes up is to blame others (including the customer). Room service can take up 1.5hrs (after 3 follow up calls); the Cafe bar is always unattended after 3:00PM (good luck getting help from the lobby bar). Breakfast in this property is exasperating - the staff needs to be reminded to offer coffee refills.... any changes to the menu result in something not been done right.... the worst part of this is that these people genuinely don't realize what they do wrong (they are not trained). A lady at the pool bar served a glass of Sauv Blanc in a Champagne glass because we were "Special". The gym is filled with 10 years old & broken equipment. In summary, this was an experience to forget. Secrets Montego Bay (we had dinner there one night) is 1000 times better. We will never come back.

    This place needs to invest in upkeep and maintenance as stated on some of the other reviews. We made the best of our stay because it was supposed to be a trip to unwind. I’m very disappointed that they are advertising this property with pics that are obviously from when the property was first built. Kudos to George & Marcel for trying to turn our trip around. They really tried hard to make our stay more acceptable. Go see George for a good cocktail & Marcel if you experience any problems. He’s a no excuse kinda guy.

    Many Positives And a Few Negatives

    Recently we visited the Zoetry Montego Bay to celebrate the 40th birthday of my wife and 41st birthday of our friend. Positives.... Upon initial arrival to the resort, we were immediately impressed with the overall feel and general ambiance of the lobby and check-in process. We were greeted by multiple members of staff, given a cold rum punch to enjoy, and provided an overview of the offerings provided by resort. The resort, itself, is only 49 rooms, separated into multiple buildings and offering different views of ocean, pool, and surrounding landscape. During our visit, we counted only 30 to 40 people visiting the resort and well over 50 staff members. The layout of the resort was easy to navigate and definitely unlike the huge Sandals resort located next door. Our room was a corner swim-out suite, featuring a large soaking tub and rain head shower. The bed was definitely comfortable, the air conditioner worked really well, and we found the maid service to be attentive to our requests. The pool, both the swim-out pool and the main resort pool, were well-cleaned, refreshing, and featured multiple places to sit and relax. Both featured a view of the ocean and allowed for quick access to the beach. Overall, we found the service at the pools and on the beach to be top-notch and we rarely waited for a drink to be in our hands. The service at the restaurants was also good, we didn't have any mistakes made on any of our orders and the food arrived promptly. We tried room service a couple of different times throughout our stay and the food arrived quickly. Speaking of the food, it was well-done and well-presented by the staff. We also found the food to be diverse; as main dining options included choices for fish, steak, pork, and chicken. Lunch by the pool was also a nice treat, we found the fish sandwich to be very good. Of course, we loved the jerk chicken and pork on the beach, too. A word to the wise, if you get tired of sitting in long pants during the hot summer nights; feel free to order off the main restaurant menu and dine inside the Polo...where it is more casual and air-conditioned. We also used the spa and enjoyed a massage, facial, and the various facilities. Negatives... The beach was well-cleaned, but they do have a problem with seaweed, which made venturing into the ocean a less than desirable adventure. In conversations with the staff, it appears that they are working to deal with the issue, but there was no timeline given. The kayak guys...each day, around 3:30 PM a group of men would paddle up on their kayaks and begin the process of selling their items....which often consisted of shells, sand dollars, and other "things." While we never engaged them, they were insistent on trying to sell stuff and would paddle back and forth, hoping for an acknowledgement. They did slightly ruin the vibe of the beach. Overall, it was a positive travel experience and if you are looking for a place to relax and chill-out; Zoetry Montego Bay is definitely the place to visit!

    Overall the service made this trip less enjoyable. The restaurant staff is poorly trained. For a small resort the wait time for room service as well as for meals in the restaurants is unacceptable.The beachfront restaurant, Jerky Joe's is the exception, the staff is prompt and provides services with attention to details, the quality of food is very good. There's only one pool so a decision to clean for two hours on a Friday morning and not opening the pool to guest until after 10 am was another example of poor execution by management and staff. The third floor king size ocean view room was nice, except it took several request over three day of a six day stay to get the mini fridge working. The view from the room was spectacular.
