The Cove at Atlantis fell a bit short...

Jackie M on Apr 20, 2024

We stayed at The Cove at the Atlantis, upgraded to the Lapis Lounge which gives you extra things such as continental breakfast, snacks throughout the day, cocktail hour, beverages etc. It cost us over $2,000 just to upgrade and it was the biggest waste of money. The food was not very good (and I'm not a picky person) and the worse part which they didn't tell us until we checked in is that we couldn't take any food, beverages etc. out of the Lapis lounge or back to our room. Nothing, not even a water or cup of coffee. I even brought my own disposable cup to get coffee and they told me I couldn't take it out and had to drink it, so crazy! I get that they don't want you loading up plates and taking it back to kids or something, but our kid was 14 and allowed to be in the Lapis lounge. The room was just okay, not worth the price and if we went back we would stay at The Reef, seems to be a better value for the type of room. The property overall is nice, lots to walk around and see and the Bahamas are beautiful.

Great Stay

JeyinCA (San Diego, California) on Apr 20, 2024

My husband and I stayed at the Cove for 4 nights in October and had a blast. The beach and lazy river were our favorite spots and the food was great. I'm not a big fan of planning each day while I'm on vacation, so we didn't make restaurant reservations as recommended. Generally, the wait for a seat wasn't too long and if it was, we just sat at the bar. Here are a few other tips: 1. Book a transport from the airport to the hotel that stops at a grocery store. Food is super expensive at the hotel and having snacks/beer in the room is a nice alternative 2. Definitely bring some sort of water shoes, there is a decent amount of walking between pools and slides at the park 3. Bring your own sunscreen, we paid $30 at the resort We definitely recommend this hotel.

Beware of Bradley Joseph

alexmK7078HS on Apr 19, 2024

Bradley Joseph. DO NOT GO. Held us hostage with our passports in hand and started adding fees. They added over $1,000 in additional “fees” and “adders” with our passport in hand and said you will not get these back until you pay. This has happened to many guests. Since I have spoke about it many have said this man has done the same to them and they didn’t know any better. Stay far away. Also the hotel is a dump, old dated and full of 3 year olds.

Cove Pool - Know your audience!!!!

destes2016 (Saint Louis, Missouri) on Apr 18, 2024

Just spent five days at The Cove. The building is fairly laid-back and the rooms are very nice. The Cove pool on the other hand is a disaster. It’s an adults only pool (18+), but the daily DJs’ play club music and gangster rap most of the day (before noon is a little bit better). They charge $800 for a daybed and $2,500 for a cabana, which is very steep for what you get. The majority of the patrons at the pool are older (40+), yet they play music, geared towards a 20-30 something party crowd (who aren’t the ones spending money on food/drink). I saw a couple people complain about the music and how loud it was and they were dismissed by the DJ and bar staff. The Cove pool could be such cool place if they would take note of the age and music preferences of the majority of the clientele. Big miss!!!

Outdated poor functioning hotel

820gamu (Miami, Florida) on Apr 18, 2024

Be ready for an outdated hotel with not so friendly personnel and difficulty finding reservations for dinnertime. Food quality was mediocre in several hotels.
