    I travel a lot for business and pleasure so I stay in a lot of hotels AND my best friend is a room manager at a Marriot so I am very familiar with the hotel brand. HOWEVER, this hotel which I DID stay in before was not up to par. The ONLY person I would exempt from this is Raymond. Check in was quick and easy and as my handicapped cousin was joining me for one night I had requested a larger bed even though I had booked a queen. Unfortunately it was downhill from there. The room was fine but the tub was slow to drain, no robes in the rooms that needed two trips from housekeeping. Hairs found on the bed. And Ive visited nyc frequently so Im aware of the noise level but it was unbearably loud. I could not get ANY sleep as there was construction and drilling right outside. The windows do not filter ANY noise. Diane from the front desk said there were NO rooms until 3pm which was fine so down we go at 3pm and waited for the room we were reassigned to be ready. We go up and its a queen bed. So back down we go and Im told "sorry, the construction is the city, its not our fault." I asked if there were any king beds on a higher floor and got "sorry, you should have actually been charged for a bigger bed." As Im about to reach in my bag for my wallet, I get "We have no king beds available as theyre all booked. Theres one other but its the same floor and still likely loud" Sorry but what a load of crap. So Im told I have to pay, which I was readily able to do and even if I was, there was no availability? This hotels standards are NOT up to par and with the supply of nice hotels in midtown youre better picking a different one. My stays at Warwick, Intercontinental, and Lex were are superior to Ren57. Im sure the usual response of "we apologize and hope to make your stay better next time" is what Ill get but listen to me and the other reviewers here, there is no accountability and no effort to make your stay comfortable except condescension. I leave two stars instead of one because of Raymond who was nothing short of courteous and professional.

    I am so pleased with my stay at this Renaissance hotel in NY. It's my second time around and I don't regret it at all! The location is excellent and the staff is very dedicated. Special thanks to Lucy & Daniel for making my stay an enjoyable one. See you soon!

    Stayed with my daughter for 4 nights. My flight was cancelled the first night due to a storm in NY. The Front Office manager (Steve) was very kind and accommodated the changes in my reservation. Thank you! The location was great, and the room & bathroom were very clean! The housekeeping was efficient and very sweet. The best part about my stay in this hotel was Raymond! He was simply AMAZING! I felt so lucky to be checked in by him. Raymond was able to suggest delicious places to eat, and great places to check out around the city. I nominate him for one of the Best New York Ambassadors. As well, I'd like to thank William for also being so sweet with us too. I LOVED the location as well!

    Reasonable price for a decent hotel

    Stayed with my family of 4 for a long weekend. Room is large but a little dated and in need of update. Fine for our needs just not outstanding. Be sure to ask for a walk in shower if you cannot handle climbing into a very deep tub. No restaurant, although decent diner next door and lots of close by options. No real lobby either, but that wasn’t a huge need for our group. Beds are comfy and nice to have aveda shower products. Location is walkable to Times Square, Central Park and not in the chaos of the super touristy area. Valet parking is 60$ but convenient.

    Checked into the room today and found strands of hair in the tub and sink. The front desk sent housekeeping right away, but it still makes me wonder whether there is other mess lying around. Hotel did not even offer to change the room. You expect more out of a 4-star establishment. Do better.
